Crazy to see Panama now on RUclips. I left at age 12 in 1978. El Valle was a turnoff on the road to our place in Santa Clara. We lived in the old Canal Zone. Margarita and later Diablo Heights.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I have faster upload speeds at this house sit - yay!!! I have another house to show you in another video but what do you think of these? If there were no legal issues, which one do you think I'd pick?
you really seemed to enjoy saying the word quebrada! out of the places you showed here the yellow one seemed to be in the best condition / requiring the least work and had a nice layout. the music you complained about didnt seem very loud compared to what I have dealt with in Mexico and it wouldnt have scared me off at all... watched your video with Panama Relocation Tours a couple days ago and then this popped up in my recommendations today so I already had your background story.
You're absolutely right, as a foreigner not knowing how things work there you have to do your own research, talk to the locals, and check public records. I know of a property in DAVID where the owner sold the same property to 3 different people, never transferred title to any of the buyers and now everyone is suing everyone. I told someone to not even consider buying it because of the unclear title and the legal issues.
@@timmaloney6441 It depends on where you’re looking. In the city, prices have come up. Playa Venao is seeing a rise in prices. I don’t know about other areas. I’m not seeing increases in El Valle, some of the same properties still on the market.
@@Pattybluehayes I really loved that new house you posted ( i think it was $350 ) all white , good sized yard . good to hear El Valle seems steady . Thanks Patty .
Omg! Nothing better that the sound of rain on the roof. I guess you have to have grown up with it to enjoy it. Now, loud music is a whole different story, lol. Cheers!
The first house you looked at in this video appeared to have mold on the walls. I lived in Hawaii for awhile and mold was a common issue. I enjoyed the house hunting venture. 🌸
@Pattybluehayes I'm in the process of buying a house in Panama. Bank of America doesn't use intermediary banks and Banco General won't allow me to do a direct. Any advice on other options?
Hi Patty I will be in Anton Valley in 2 weeks to look around also. I’m in Coronado right now . I’m a builder but I would be a little hesitant to go down that road. Buying a fixer would be money saved in the long run probably. Beautiful area! Good luck Greg
Just home from a week of house-hunting in El Valle, and indeed... met Tony! Really does take a lot of time to find the "right spot" there - especially for me personally, as I'm a horticulturalist (by trade), and land is very expensive there - often over $300K/acre, if in the flat valley. My views in western NC are amazing, and property only $12K/acre... so the concept that "Panama is cheap" is certainly not true! It's allllll about the quality of life.
Thanks for posting your process, we'll be there in the spring and need to buy a house instead of renting because we have 5 large rescue dogs, so watching your process is helpful. We're going through Jackie at Panama Relocation so things will be a little smoother, but buying a house will be interesting. I wonder if that location will be cool enough for us.
You’re in good hands with Jackie. You might be surprised to find a rental where you could have your dogs. Even one year would be helpful to see where you want to settle down ☺️
My advice to you as a local is if they said $200,000 you said how about $170,000 take it or leave it. Right now the housing market in Panama is slow due to the pandemic, so don't rush it. Also, they are good deals on lands where you can build your own house. Remember always talk to locals they can help you to get a good deal.
Hey Patti. I think I would choose the one with the bridge, or maybe the one with the blue roof...I have no idea...lol. I like your idea about making your home an income property though. That would be fun while making 💰💰💰
@@Pattybluehayes Actually, that is the kind of work I love and in the end, something to be very proud of 🏠 Best of all, it is all yours along with those wonderful home goods you have been collecting over the last couple of years. hi Patty, thank you for your informative videos...how did you go about tracking down the finca number in public records? we have a finca number but i'm not sure how to discover more about it re: records. thanks!
I'm so glad for you that your next step is becoming a homeowner. Take your time because you don't want to be tangled in unforseen litigation. The 3rd house was a good example of litigation?
It’s still overpriced and on the market ☺️ Yes, I think flooding of the quebrada could happen, for sure. And there are no retaining walls - soil erosion for sure.
Are you seeing much for rent in El Valle? My friend contacted her real estate agent friend who basically said there were no houses available at the moment. She found a really good deal on an apartment in Coronado though so we are going to move there instead at the beginning of December. Honestly, I just want to get out of Panama City at this point. I'm tired of the traffic and constant noise. I am excited for Coronado though. I love the beach. El Valle would have been good but it's not meant to be for now.
I’ve noticed a lot here in El Valle is word of mouth referrals. You’ll enjoy Coronado - the beaches are wonderful. Head out to Punta Chame - deserted beach, good Italian food at Machete Kites and fun to watch the kite surfers.
@@guillermogouldburn763 Yes, I stayed with a friend at Albrook for a while but I don't want to live in Panama City anymore. I've been here for years. Time for somewhere new.
