    One small mistake. The SR8015 can decode 13.2 Channels, the Cinema 50 just 11.4. So you are not able to drive a Auro 3D 13.1 with the Cinema 50. Also not a 7.1.6 or a 9.1.4. Also the bigger Cinema 40 is just able to decode 11.4 Channels. So there is no adequate new alternative to the SR8015. Even not with external amplifier.

    • @homecinemaking397
      @homecinemaking397  Год назад

      It still has Auro 3D built in, maybe not full 13ch but on a 11ch front. Its not a full replacement yes i agree.

    For those who wants possibly more accurate calibration the Marantz Cinema 40 and 50 will have Dirac Live within couple of months for a fee. Marantz Cinema 60 and 70 won't have Dirac Live. Unfortunately they won't offer Marantz SR8015 Dirac Live.

    • @homecinemaking397

      I still will not be using Dirac as i know Audyssey very well and can tune it to perfection.

      @@retroforce6919 Dirac is much better than Audyssey. I have about 15 years experience with both, on a 120k$ active system. I made my own Dirac processor in the beginning, since there was none. Its consensus on most users I experience. There is a reason why Adyssey is not used on high end processors. But it is cheaper, and can make a difference if you add it correctly.

    Daft question, but on the 50, when a source starts to play, does the display say what the audio is being at? eg my old AVR would put a diff icon depending if it was DD, DTS, TrueHD, etc....which is very helpful for troubleshooting. All the pics I seem to find just show the input name, eg "bluray" and a volume

    • @homecinemaking397

      On the 50 no but on the 40 yes because of the screen size. But just hit the info button and you will see on screen.

      @@homecinemaking397 Thank you thats helpful. I forgot about the on screen display information (as my Onkyo 607 broke displaying that many years ago) - so long as I can still see it somehow - as sometimes my Nvidia shield or HTPC etc start playing up, or audio doesnt sound right, and check and it's sending the audio as stereo or such in stead. - I may opt for the 3800H instead of the cinema 50 - at £950 vs £1200

    Hi it's unfortunate that your SR8015 review has disappeared 😢
    Anyway I 'm quite agree that sound is more important than any measurements or benchmark... but owning both the SR8015 and the Cinema 40 there is no comparison between the 2 units: the 8015 sounds great really musical...the Cinema 40 got good DSPs but I miss something with the overall sound... the highs are too much roll-off to my ears...

    How do those RF7's stack up to the Polk R700's?

    • @homecinemaking397
      @homecinemaking397  Год назад +1

      This is actually a good match up. So the R700 hold there own. They are much more neutral and the bass is about 70% there.

      @@homecinemaking397 Thanks. I’ve been a Klipsch guy most my life. Had the RF5’s for 12 years, and until recently was going to go the RP8000 route until I read all the great reviews about the Polk r700s. I just don’t know…after so much time spent with the Klipsch sound…I think in the long run I will enjoy the Polks more.

      @@MykWazowski if you like the klipsch forwardness and the way the horn throws the sound then the R700 will sound muffled to you. Its 100% flat and does not alter the sound at all. That is what makes it so good but you might miss the excitement. Demo first in my opinion.

      @@homecinemaking397 i beg to differ. I have the cinema 50 and the rx-a8a. The yamaha sounds more natural(as in the way something is suppose to sound). Marantz sounds like you're in a hall. The signal(sound signature ) is definitely tampered with(warmer). The yamaha also is a sturdy built unit, it sounds fuller as well. The 4 independent subs is nice on the cinema 40/50 but if you're running an external amp(2 in my case) for your subs then it dont matter. I have tried the multi directional subs and i can't really tell if it's working the way i think it supposed to work but i think it is doing its job.

      @Persian Cat id go with with the a6a because it's usually discounted to about 1650 regularly. Yamaha has fixed the hdmi 2.1 issues as well also if you're running 2 or less subs or they're controlled externally by a dsp/ separate amps and don't care for dirac then Yamaha it is.
