CPEC will not be usefull for Pakistan as it would be for China. Chinese Investments never make any country grow this is proven in African and Srilanka. They have made huge investment in Africa building roads but as everyone knows Chinese Gaints Company will never let grow local Industries. Pakistan Local Industries will not grow up. Pakistan may be colonised by China in future.

The current export growth is because of currency devaluation - it is temporary. Sustainable growth of economy requires a competent, honest cadre of civil servants and bureaucrats. What is the state of civil servants and bureaucrats in Pakistan? They are corrupt, incompetent and interested only in making enough money to get out of Pakistan and launder money outside. What needs to be done: 1) Change the civil services exam to focus on work performance, not rote learning of books 2) Create performance KPIs and use technology to monitor performance 2) Fire civil servants who underperform and pay the civil servants based on performance. Unless these reforms are done, the currency will continue to devalue, tax collection will not increase and exports will not grow sustainably. Please learn from Lebanon!
The 60s and 80s growth classifying under military regime is not fair. In 60s the East Pakistan export based economy, foreign Aid and internal security are ignored. In 80s with the end military regime the American investment in war against USSR depleted.
No in the end 60s West Pakistan also Starts Exporting 50% and West Pakistan Economy Was always Greater Than East Pakistan Especially in This Era Yes Bengal Was a Rich Province Which We Lost and Now They are More Powerful Than Us

People should remember that Pakistan was once a part of India and shouldn't have any claims on India. It should be the other way round. But apart from all that Pakistan would have to forego terror, ,religious fanaticism, mob lynchings in the name of religion and start to respect other nations. Pakistan could have been a paradise north of India had it not been for two things. Fanaticism and terror. Now, look at Pakistan.....
Pakistan should forget about Kashmir and concentrate on its economy , since 70 yrs its fighting for Kashmir and dint get even an inch of it !!
