3:08 It seems that that guy under the Audi is asleep, and then wakes up with that usual after-party saturday morning sound "aaerrhhh"... I bet he had the best time at the friday evening rock concert... :D
Jari Matti Latvala is like the Michael Schumacher of rally. Great attitude win lose or crash he always has a positive outlook. Great driver hope he does well.
Got to love that 5 cylinder noise. Current WRC cars are way too sterile and (seemingly) easy to drive. We need cars that are more loose, with less electronics, H-pattern gearboxes, foot clutch only and preferably 75/25 static power delivery to back/front.
Yes I am American. I agree that they're going back to the basics which is awesome! I'm just saying as far as the cars go, it's just not the same as it used to be.. I miss the group A cars from the 90's. The Subaru's and the Mitsubishi's ect. As I myself Stage Rally a 93 Impreza, I miss how the cars used to be!
TO BE HONEST THAT IS WHAT RALLY CAR SHOULD BE LIKE, I WOULD OF LIKE TO HAVE SEEN THE LATE '''SWB QUATTRO S1''''' THAN THE EARLY LWB QUATTRO FOR A MODERN COMPARISON......
S1 has 20v Turbo engine, while it sounds really good the 10v Turbo has the best I5 growl there is. Video does not give the full experience, on stages Jari's car could be heard from several kilometers away with that fantastic soundtrack.
Today's cars are easier to controll, but it's hard to drive them. The problem with the morons that underapreciate the work of modern drivers is that they don't have a damned clue of what the fuck is going on inside the brain of the driver. To control a car is a hard task, but to drive as mad as rally drivers do is a shitload of times harder - and, guess what: modern WRC drivers go way faster than Group B drivers, as power and grip are better balanced.
It's an old classic car, i think they are trying to keep it as simular to the original Audi rally cars as possible and i dont think it is aloud to have new stuff in classic rally.
ALS was used in F1 in 80's, but in rallying it was Toyota which bringed the ALS. And it was A group era already, early 90's I think. Toyota also invented the handbrake in 4-wheel drive rally cars first. It was also in A group, this group 4 car or B group cars didn't have it.
@@Rontti The latest version of the Audi Sport quattro had already a kind of an anti lag system. You can hear that very clear in video footage from 1986.
Are you possible American because the new WRC cars is not econoboxes like you said they are geting back to the basics whit mechanical differentials and not to much of the electronic shit. its pure mechanical pleasure except the ECU.
They had anti-lag back then, it was called "left foot braking".
That is a technique, not a system
+Antony Collingwood I was being funny, well aware, thanks!

Incomparable... mais la démarche est sympa ! Bravo pour cette vidéo.
Thanks Jari appreciate your comments! but I like more the Audi Sport Quattro S1. It sounds better.
WRC is for boys
Group B was for Men
"Juha kankkunen"

4:40 "When this light comes on it really means you have to stop"
Me when I've been using it as a shift light in RBR: '-'
to be hOWnest! this is what rally cars should be like
"So what you need to do in this car when you're on the braking, and coming to the slow corner?" Easy answer: Heel and toe technique!!

Maybe in future we have Audi cc quattro in wrc and its have i5 turbo in it,hope so,Audi its all about racing.
Thank you very much Jari!
Nice job...:-)
Thats sick! Wish WRC cars were still like this and not wannabe AWD econoboxes..

Great!!
Point with anti lag. You had to drive that car and know how to drive. Today is to easy

Now for some track video... please. ;-)
wouldn't it help if he put a anti lag system in the car to stop the lag

Marco Kahelin True that, it is not allowed to have any modifications at historic car.

+Rontti lol ok

Whats HP has this 10v Turbo ? 🤤
This one probably around 320. The latest 10V had up 380 to 400 hp. The 20V 450 to 550 hp.
There is no point in manking a comparison as the Audi was made in 1980-81 but is it a real one ????
hyvä ihanaa
Even she looks hard to drive
I love my car....;-)
🖒🖒🖒🖒latvala
