      I never heard of it until two days ago. I grinded through it and only stopped to sleep.
      It was one of those rare games that I bothered to read the logs and emails. I genuinely felt for the crew and saved everyone I could.

    I personally feel that the specific actions of the actual Morgan are unknowable at this current state. Firstly, we know he stayed to destroy the tyhpon, though nullwave, detonation, or some other way. Alex is alive; Dayo Igwe, Sarah Elazar, Mikhaila Ilyushin, and Danielle Sho survive in some way. We know this because Alex stops the simulation when you try to escape. Additionally, how else would the four of them be present in the post-credit scene? It’s my personal opinion that Morgan lived long enough for his memories to be extracted in some way to be represented to this Tyhpon test.
    One idea I read, perhaps on the subreddit, was that maybe everyone is cryogenically frozen with their minds replicated in the operators, save for one person who is kept awake to monitor things. This could be done in a cycle to preserve the intellectual survivors of the human race and to prolong the human-typhon tests.
    I’ll come back to revise, as I made this comment at 5 minutes in

      Igwe ect may be alive in the end scene or they may not.
      I got the feeling they were dead and had their consciousness put into Operators like Morgan with December and January but I can also see how they're alive and just talking through the Operators remotely.

  • @KnoxCarbon
    @KnoxCarbon 2 года назад +5

    My interpretation: What determines whether the Mirror Neurons work is whether Morgan Yu was empathetic deep down. The simulation is a near perfect replica of Morgan's memories with a few added empathy tests. The real Morgan is probably long dead, and Alex most likely used their mirror neurons because he remembered Morgan as a good person, because he truly believed deep down, despite all the messed up stuff they did for TranStar, Morgan was a good person. And it's our actions that determine whether he was right.

    The typhon didn’t break containment all at once. If you look closely at notes and emails, there’s been occurrences that we know are typhon the previous days before the outbreak. It was just the typhon coordinating an attack that happens in the simulation

      Alex states Why he's trying to make a Hybrid.
      The Hybrid is suppose to be a Bridge between their Species.
      Were the Typhons took over Earth most likley cause of Instincts and Self Preservation, though they can still Communicate to each other in a way we Humans can't comprehend.
      Making a Hybrid of a Typhon and Human might be a last chance of having Peach between the Two Species since the Hybrid would be able to Speak both Langagues, and be able to feel Empathy.
      So most likely IF the Typhons refuse to leave Earth, the Hybrid might side with the Humans instead of it's own Kind
      Hell maybe the Hybrids could Multiply and start a Typhon Civil War.

      1. I'm thinking he didn't or if he did, he may have been swallowed up by the typhon somehow, maybe made into something thats like a mix between human and typhon, but controlled by the typhon hive mind.
      2. maybe, maybe not, I'm gonna say no, but it's definetly not liveable at this point.
      3. Probably some bunker, or for all we know, another space station, not much about this part since its so vague in the outro.

    still have to play mooncrash for i did saw the cutscene in the credits but still makes me wonder what cause the Earth to end up so bad...was it the mimic about the shuttle from Mooncrash?...was it the shuttle which headed to earth half an hour before the containment breach was detected and we were given an option to blow it up before landing on earth?...or was it something else? (just asking myself out loud some phisolophical questions)

    Prey can someone doctor the Apex I don't understand what it is where it came from its place in the typhon ecology so can someone explain it to me

    • @atomicdreamz6035
      @atomicdreamz6035 3 года назад +9

      Okay I just finished the game last night so I may be wrong, but from what I understand: the Apex Typhon is essentially the end goal for any Typhon ecosystem. The thing that attacks Talos I at the game's climax is merely an extension of the Apex Typhon. As far as I can tell, the entirety of the lesser Typhon exist purely to summon the Apex.
      The Weavers create Coral which allow communication with the Apex Typhon. To defend the Coral, the Weavers create a litany of footsoldiers. Mimics, Phantoms, Telepathy, Technopaths. Their goal is to kill anything they see that could potentially pose a threat to the Coral. Despite how weak humans are physically, we're the smartest creatures in our solar system, and the TranStar scientists on Talos I were able to successfully experiment on and contain even powerful Typhon for decades, making humanity a threat.
      So the Typhon go about killing anything that moves all to bring about the Apex Typhon. What its exact goal is is unknown. Unknowable, arguably. January states that it is something extremely ancient and powerful.
      Considering Earth falls to the Typhon outside the simulation, it's possible -- likely, even -- that the Apex Typhon exists as a final force to stop anything that tries to harm the Coral (hence why it only arrives after Morgan and Alex get close to completing the Nullwave Device). The Apex Typhon is, then, similar to the Phantoms, Technopaths, and Nightmares. It is the adaptative response to a disturbance in the Typhon ecosystem. Phantoms exist as a response to humans, Technopaths exist as a response to turrets and Operators; technology that the Typhon is unfamiliar with. The Apex Typhon is the final boss, essentially, of their species.
      To conclude: it seems that the entire Typhon ecosystem exists solely to spread Coral across space and time. It's likely they only attack areas with sentient life (as the Coral seems to hold the consciousness of its victims inside it). The Typhon 'hivemind', when against a threat, will react accordingly. Starting with mimics, working up through Phantoms, the Telepaths, the Technopaths, the Weavers, the Nightmares, and finally, if the threat to the Coral is too great, they summon the Apex Typhon.
      Of course, it could be argued that the Coral itself only exists to summon the Apex Typhon, as the Imposter Cook points out how, as the Coral slowly engulfs Talos I, the "screaming" gets louder.
      Idk if my answer was helpful or not sorry if it just confused you even more :(

      @@atomicdreamz6035 thank you honestly that's actually helped me understand a lot more because I've actually finished prey 4 times since its release and every time the apex showed up in the finally it just sort of ground the game to a fault because I had no idea what it was or where it came from but now that you've explained it to me I can actually see how it fits in as a final boss thank you.

      @@atomicdreamz6035 I have read the Research notes and there is a note from Morgan about the Coral. He states that the Coral is sending out a sort of "signal" into space and he wonders what or who it is calling. I think that unlike a Nightmare, the Apex Typhon is not an adaptive response mechanism, but more likely the "breeder". Just like the Xenomorph Queen. I think that the purpose of all "minor" Typhoons is to set up a place where the Weavers can create the Coral that can call in the Apex to take over.
