Being from Michigan, one awesome thing about all the snow that people tend to forget is the SILENCE. The snow just kinda muffles everything and there’s never many people outside in the winter, so it really can feel somewhat mystical at times.
Try not to jinx it, but winter in Michigan is nuts, lasting even through the very first month for New Year's Day and during Spring and starts snowing right before Thanksgiving even begins, and of course, it's not usually slip, fall, and fracture a bone season, saying that from my experience with ice being literally everywhere, and it's normally shovel a path to avoid getting your socks freezing cold and wet season.
The silence when snow falls is the most ominously beautiful sound ever. It's like, even though you like in a city and there are cars, and dogs, and people, the snow just stops all that noise. When I was in high school and just out graduated, I took long walks to get out of the house for a while. In the winter, I remember walking down the street when it would snow and there'd be no one out. Just me, no cars, no other walkers, just me and whatever I was listening to on my phone. I remember how the silence and that cold stillness was just so comforting, somehow. I remember I'd had some particularly bad times in that part of my life and I'd take a walk to just cry it all out. I remember that, even though it wouldn't freeze, all the tears I cried out got so cold that it was like an icy brand on my cheeks and I'd come back with rosy cheeks and frostbitten streaks under my eyes. Honestly, I miss that. This year, winter was about 50-75 degrees in KS and it just didn't feel like winter. And now that Christmas is over, NOW ITS DECIDED TO GET SNOWY OKAY.
I didn't celebrate Christmas and I live in tropical country so there is no such thing as winter. But I really enjoy watching how exciting winter season would be through the TV. I love how the streets would be decorated with beautiful little lights and people excitedly buying presents for each other. I wish I could experience these myself one day :'3
BOI I'MMA KIDNAP YOU AND BRING YOU HERE WIFF ME! YOU IS GONNA FEEL CHRISTMAS!!!! I live in Florida so it gets a lil chilly instead of snowing but CHRISTMAS SHALL BE FELT NONETHELESS 😤
I’ll admit, in Kentucky, it barely snows in the winter. And when it does, it’s always too little or too much. For almost my whole life, I have never experienced having a White Christmas, and me and my brother are always hoping for one, because it seems to make the day feel that much more cozy and relaxing.
In lived all my life in South America, Argentina, so Christmas is always in summer, it's was very strange to see Christmas movies when I was a kid because all of them has snow and here the closest thing we have to that is an ice scream flavor called "Christmas"

In Australia, the weather gets really hot in the summer which can make it alot of fun having pool parties with family or picnics or going to the beach. I always loved having a warm Christmas even though it can be up to like 40-50 degrees Celsius (104-122 degrees Fahrenheit). I have always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas in the cold though. (Also, we do not celebrate Christmas in July, we celebrate in December like everyone else lol) Edit: I deleted the states that I thought were the hottest because I wrong. My bad guys (:
i live in eastern america, so when we get snow, it's after christmas. im used to having grey christmases (christmases where it rains instead of snows) so when i got to experience my first white christmas last year, i loved it.
Yo, I agree with you, I love snow, but I hate when my mom makes me shovel the driveway, last year my mom said “Silent, can you shovel the driveway tomorrow, please?” And I mean she asked me to do it, and only me, but I still said “okay” and I ended up doing by myself, when I finished, I never felt more accomplished XD then my grandma gave me 50 bucks XD
I heard this story once idk if it's true or not. When the Spanish converted the natives to Catholicism, the Inca had an easier time than the Maya and the Aztecs. Because when they had Christmas they had the snow of the Andes mountains in their backyards to celebrate.
Australia Christmas: 1. get ready for Christmas 2.wish you were in the snowy mountains like the LUCKY ONES 3. Look at Christmas lights on Christmas eve 4. For some reason at school you have to watch Christmas carols that had Santa surfing and in mens swimmer pants and sunglasses, and also being sunburnt 5. Christmas food (meat pie and lamingtons) 6. Presents 7. Check the weather chart for snow even though it’s never gonna snow 8. Swim in the kiddy pool and have a barbie 9. Be tired for a whole 3 weeks after Christmas holidays. The end.
I recommend the pacific northwest. When we get fires, they get doused with rain, and we have snowy Christmases most times. And when we don't, it's an hour's drive to a snowy place. :) (I speak as a Texan who has the opposite experience as you - I LOVE the snow and moved here specifically because we've gotten it in Portland every year since I got here in 2016!)
I used to live in Alaska, and that is where I had all of my childhood christmases. And they were all so epic! We would go outside on the cold with all of our coats on and everything, and we’d watch the snow pour down and occasionally see the northern lights, it was dreamy! But then my family moved to Florida, so I get you girl
This video it’s 2 years old but Christmas is so dear to my heart. I live in Minnesota and have for my entire life. I get sick of winter easily but , After a long hot summer you start really looking forward to it. My favorite season is autumn. Since it’s cold, not too cold that you feel like you’re gonna get frostbite, but cold enough that you have to wear a sweater. Sitting outside In the chilly weather while checking out the fallen leaves, the bare trees, the Halloween decor. It’s all so fun and honestly, brings me back to my earliest memories of Halloween.
I live in northen Germany. We used to have snow here, like before the year 2012. After that we only have 2 -8 days of snow or some years no snow at all. Well good for you americans, in south east Asia, there's literally no snow, instead replace by flood season!
Despite living in Michigan, go green, I don’t really have that, but I do live like 45 minutes from Detroit, sooo
Yoooo
