Lex is beginning to intuitively comprehend music theory by ear. Guitar solos are played to a musical scale. So the guitarist will play a bunch of sequential notes in a particular scale up and down over and over again for the solo. Sticking to the scale means that every note they strike will sound good played sequentially. I'm drastically oversimplifying here, but Lex is picking this up simply by ear. You rock!!
