Previously, we published a video about how to make an odorless piggery or no-smell pig pen which is commonly known in the Philippines as 'baboyang walang amoy', and to maximize the potential of our no-smell piggery, we built a biogas digester beside it.
This video shows how we created a concrete biogas digester with two inlets, one is connected direct to the pond of the odorless piggery and one is for the waste from different sources like for food waste and waste of other animals in our backyard.
This is on testing phase because we are still waiting until the septic tank will produce methane gas before we can fully show if this design will work according to its purpose.
MATERIALS:
- 220 pieces hollow blocks
- 15 sacks cement
- 10 pieces 8mm rebar (steel bar)
- 1 piece 10mm rebar
- 1/2 kg rebar tie wire
- 5 packs cement waterproofing compound (Sahara)
- 3 cubic meters sand
- 1 piece 5mm pluwood
- 2 pieces 2inX4inX8ft lumber
- 5 pieces 2inX2inX8ft lumber
- 4 piecs 5 feet long bamboo
- 1 piece 4 inches PVC pipe
- 2 pieces 45 degrees PVC pipe junction for 4 inches pipe
We will be publishing on this channel a separate video on how to connect a small hose from the digester to the burner of a stove when the biogas is ready.
This project is located in Alamada, Cotabato, Philippines.

Hi, the digest needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. At least once in 24 months. (Depending on how much feed you give it) How do you action this if you cover it fully like this?
There is a big opening on one side, the area which is covered with light blue lid, where sludge comes out. You do not need to clean this type of digester because as the new waste materials comes in through the inlet, the sludge (the digested wasted) also comes out through the outlet.

The way i see it, hindi masyado malakas gas nito kasi yung disenyo, ang dumi ng baboy at tubig diretso sa digester, so mas marami ang tubig kesa dumi ng baboy ang ratio kasi is 1:1, ibig sabihin kung gaano ka dami ng dumi ganun lang din kadami ang tubig. So sa video yung digester madaling mapuno pero kunti ang gas.
Konting remedyo lang ang kelangan, wag lang i direct yung dumi at tubig sa digester. Yun lang.

D'rustic World how much water can the biodigester handle, or should it have a drain before it reaches the inlet tank to reduce the amount of water, for example if empty the wallowing pools or washing down the piggery. Also the size you have how many pigs is it suitable for would it handle the waste from 200 - 300 pigs . Looks amazing setup.

Itong sa amin, 3 months bago nagkaroon ng gas. Depende daw kasi yan sa dami ng waste na pinapasok sa digester.

Around 12K pala, Sir, kasali yong kahoy, plywood at tube. Hindi pa kasama jan yong labor ng gumawa.
Yong trabaho nyo prang may singaw pa rin sayang ang gas...sana ang mga catch basin nyo sa outlet may takip rin...kasi sisingaw dyan ang gas.
Mukang d nman sisingaw dun kc magkakalaman nman ng liquid o dumi n ng baboy nila ung baba ng pvc.

For the meantime, Sir, it only serves as septic tank kay bag-o pa namo ni gihimo and we are still testing it if the design will work accordingly. Gahulat pa mi nga maka produce ni siya ug methane gas then we will publish an update.
