Nice survivor. My dad bought a new '55 Fairlane 2-door from Bielfield Ford in Detroit. He had it for over 10 years, put over 100k miles on it & was very reliable. Great memories, great times.
Brought back memories when I was 4 years old when my Daddy bought one exactly like this one. Except his was a 3 sad. Overdrive and hand crank windows. Ours had a radio. Mom seldom used it. So many fantastic memories let's go for a ride took me on. Thank you. If I had the money. Out of all the ones you've had previously. This is one I wish I owned.
Dad had a two door he got new before joining the Navy…we called the Daddy Car ❣️ He’s gone but I’d love to own this jewel just to take Maw for a ride in it!
Thing I like best about y'all's cars is, while they're great candidates for restoration & show, they're also something you can buy, drive & enjoy without worrying about depreciating your investment.
Wow this old girl was born the same year that I was, for she has the great body lines that Marylin Morrow had in those years. Treat me gently and I will always be there for you. What a lovely car to no end. For she brings back many memory's in my life. In my book she should bring more than asking. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC.
That's a typical Y block, they weren't powerhouses. That one sounds like noisy lifters or an exhaust leak. Think it's lifter noise. These are very simple to work on. The car is pretty dang nice tho for a 68 year old car. First car my Dad had when I was a kid. Good memories.
That bouncing speedo is not uncommon with older cars like that. Not sure exactly why, but since it's all mechanical, I've always suspected it was a worn out cable. Especially since it clears up after you get rolling & get torque built up into it.
Welcome to the factory quirts of an old Ford. Same as new. Ignition switch wiggle to start. Super slow gas gauge. Automatic transmission cars were sluggish vs a stick shift.

I wish I didn't have a criminal record I would love 2 cross the border and come buy a car from you guys
Canadian? If so, you guys had great Canadian cars up there back in the day. The plodges, Meteors, Beaumonts, Acadians, etc; I love it.
They may deliver to Canada, I don't know but worth asking about.

My father's 57 Chevy Bel Air had that problem and he said that the cable needed to be oiled or greased.
Been waiting for this one 🙌
The next best thing 55 Ford only th e 56 Ford could be finer but what a beautiful classic should be like great choice love it.
Cool car, Nick!
Real nice and a great price

Sweet like you popped into the twilight zone. Back to the future 😊
I love the 55 and 56 Fords. I’d rather have one then the Chevy just to be different then everyone else. Not something you see much. More unique

The other one is 312
I would like to get it and do a engine swap and trans to a modern more powerful one. Go for a sleeper look.
Leave her alone.

@@andreamills5852 there is legislation going through Congress to make it punishable by death to bastardize any car made before 1980.
Oh yes its a fairlane
Take my money! Hahaha
The bouncing speedo. Is a trait of them old 50's Fords. Ours did it when the car had 20 miles on it.
55 and 56 look the same.
Needs some valve adjustments
Real cream puff.
