I think that the reason why most people don't use two toned gloves when making an homage to or replica of the iconic outfit, is because it's a detail that can be easily missed, I've seen the original look numerous times and never noticed that detail until watching this video.
I'm not the biggest fan of kylie I don't know much about her but I think she's the closest to how Marilyn Monroe was treated. Lorry Hill made a video about marilyn's plastic surgeries and I think it was the constant pressure to look perfect. Same goes with kylie jenner, she was born into the Kardashian-Jenner family. People trash them for not looking their best but still trash them for getting plastic surgery.
i would love for you to review the moulin rouge outfits! because in my opinion it's one of the best examples on deviating from historical accuracy that feels appropriate
Madonnas homage is the best tbh. Marilyn’s scene was satire and so was Madonnas especially in the 80s when people were making and spending tons of money.
Beyonce has some iconic dresses like her crazy in love dress, her single ladies outfit, an array of outfits from lemonade like the yellow frilly latin one, the black gothic gown with hat, the grey tight fit top and bottom sweats, her grammy pregnant dress etc. Its immediately recognizable despite so many people not even being fans of her. I think you can do a whole video about her iconic looks. What's actually funny is that her red carpet dresses are often forgotten which is the opposite of many other singers/artists but her performance or video outfits are the more memorable outfits.
I have been trying to find a frilly yellow skirt inspired by her Lemonade dress for years now, I think the only way to get something remotely similar is to have it custom made.

Please discuss the different Glinda gowns from tv shows, movies and books.
I just have to say something real quick. Thank you so much for making these videos . As a film major, this is just a fun way for me to enjoy cinema while also enjoying fashion. It’s like my two loves combined. Though I love film, the topics in film don’t come to me as easy as my peers but watching videos like this, make me understand film so much better. You have NO IDEA how much these videos help my confidence for the classroom, thank you so much. @ModernGurlz
pleaaaaaase talk abt the costumes in the favourite 😭 i can’t believe someone hasn’t made a video on them yet
I like Madonna's Imitation of the dress and the hair on the " Material girl" video
Madonna rules ❤️
I’d love to hear what you think about moulin rouge and satine’s costumes! You mentioning it in this video has really got me thinking about it
That movie is such eye candy, I love the costumes!
Nobody even comes close to Monroe in terms of charisma, beauty and talent.
True
More than her looks, she had a soft spoken voice. Angelic like
PS : As far as The Pink dress, that's a mature shade of Pink.
I think that the reason why most people don't use two toned gloves when making an homage to or replica of the iconic outfit, is because it's a detail that can be easily missed, I've seen the original look numerous times and never noticed that detail until watching this video.
You should do an “every outfit Julia Roberts wears in pretty woman” vid ☺️Notting hill outfits are pretty too 🦋💕✨
ik this was before NXDE by gidle but even NXDE payed homage to marylin monroes pink dresss
I love the fact that I never hated pink, I always loved it, even in my "goth" fase lol
am i the only one who actually didn’t recognize the dress ? i’ve never seen it before but it is gorgeous
I think the design of the dress with the black gloves looks amazing
I love your videos, please talk about the iconic white dress of Marilyn in "The Seven Year Itch"
marilyn monroe is still (to me) the most beautiful woman literally ever. 😌✨
People trash them for not looking their best but still trash them for getting plastic surgery.
now we can add meg thee stallion's grammys 2020 orange dress to this list. so so so gorgeous
Queen of Hollywood Marilyn Monroe 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I love how moderngurlz is obsessed with everything blue 😂, my personal favorite was the adaptation in normani and mad of course
gentlemen prefer blondes is one of my favorite movies 🥰
i would love for you to review the moulin rouge outfits! because in my opinion it's one of the best examples on deviating from historical accuracy that feels appropriate
I feel like Madonna did the best impression, or maybe I'm just biased because I'm a mega Madonna fan. Anyway love both Marilyn and Madonna
_Thaliá, the well-famous Mexican actress had the iconic pink dress_
marilyn monroe are legend iconic and queen
Period
I first saw the dress in material girl after watching stranger things cuz I was OBSESSED. I only found out it was first marylin’s a few months ago
Fun fact: Diamonds by Normani and Megan is actually the first song to directly sample the song from Marilyn, according to music blog Idolator.
I think normanis dress wins (it's just only my options) because she made it into something which gen z would probably wear 👉👈
while me just having everything pink in all tones.
ugh pink so iconic thoooooo
I LOVE MARILYN MONROE..
I AM A FAN.
I LOVE ALL HER QUOTES.
U THE BEST. -------------------- THX 4 THIS VIDEO.
I fangirl every time I see Marilyn's pink dress, it's really so iconic yet simple
@@glittery_cucumber so weird because while being iconic it seems like very common style
I do not like Beyonce.
@@kiranjitKaur61 okay and??? Lol this has nothing to do with you
I don't know if you watch Rupauls drag race or know of it but on season 9 of Rupaul drag race Peppermint (one of the queens) did a recreation of Marilyn's iconic ensemble from Gentleman Prefer Blondes. I don't know the episode but she did end up lip syncing against Cynthia Lee Fontaine which you probably find on RUclips. Sorry for the long comment
