Yeah but Jackie was a strong but shy woman. She rarely ever talked about that day, and didn’t want the suit on display until long after she was gone. But I think she was aware of its legacy, it was very important to her that JFK’s legacy was carried on.
Maybe so but she also used it to make a statement when she wore it at the VP inauguration. She could have let this idea take over but she used it as a power move and now it’s a capsule in history
I find it kind of ironic that after Warner calls Elle a "Marilyn" as opposed to a "Jackie" she wears the pink suit in the second movie inspired by Jackie. Also goes to show that you can be powerful and smart but still feminine! (also, marilyn was actually pretty smart too, so jokes on Warner)
It's so sad how critical the media was of Jackie's looks and Marilyn's mind. Ya know people used to say Jackie looked like an alien and Marilyn was called every risque name in the book. 🤦🏿♀️
Yeah, it's all designed so you can't win no matter what you do. If you dress or act stereotypically 'feminine', then you get all the negative stereotypes, too. If you don't, you're shunned for not being 'feminine' enough. There's no middle ground in this kind of grouping system.

Yes! Cayetana and Polo's Halloween costume! I was actually surprised it was on the show, but it really goes to show how much Jackie and the Kennedy family's cultural reach is.
As a pink obsessed girl who loves to wear dresses and blazers, I LOVE this pink suit! I want a pink suit so bad because of it! It’s just such an iconic look from Jackie to Elle Woods to whoever!
I think that Dua Lipa's is probably the best reinterpretation of the suit, as it looks modern while being an obvious reference without coming off as too casual.
This was so well done. I hadn't realized how often Jackie's pink suit has been copied and how much it has influenced pop culture. Love the new intro as well.
I wish we could have seen a bit more exploration into the Simpson episode where Marge wears the suit, "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield." I've always felt like this is one of the series' best episodes, with the suit (and clothing in general) as an obvious symbol of the social barrier between the haves and the have-nots. Marge has some poignant moments as she desperately tries to reinvent the suit only to have it fall apart in front of her.

My favorite Kennedy inspired look in the media was in umbrella academy, the handler has many different outfits but there is a blue suit she wears with white gloves and a white pillbox hat, and it resembles one of the outfits mrs.Kennedy had. It was super cute, and stunning.
With the Met Gala’s theme this year being American fashion, i wonder how many interpretations of this suit we’ll see! Edit: disappointed but not surprised 😔

My favourite take on this iconic piece of fashion history is the Perferrbly Pink Barbie from the silkstone Fashion Model Collection. I never made the connection between the “I need to marry a Jackie not a Marylin” line in Legally Blonde and the pink suit until now. So brilliant. It’s also interesting because Marylin was rumored to have had an affair with JFK (though that’s definitely not confirmed.)
i consider myself a pretty big kennedy buff so this was a nice surprise to see. i always find it interesting that she’d worn the garments before but they really only made waves in dallas that morning. of course we know why, and it’s a sad reason.
