    For the exact reason you described I was just about to go search for this mechanism and decided to check if you had anything on it. I figured with the amount of work you do it has to annoy you as well! Thanks for sharing! It turns out I just had to back my screw off ever so slightly so I didn't have to remove it 👍

      Mines the exact same lol - backed out, but still there, just in case 😅

      @@SquareWheelsAuto quicknuodate on this for anyone out there who may experience the same thing. I ended up having to reattach the screw. There were a few things Goin on that I didn't think was related but they were. So I have my headlights set to turn off 30 seconds after the car locks and I noticed that it was staying on much longer. Then my remote start from the key fob wouldn't work. I couod start the car remotely from the Infiniti intouch app but not the key fob. After much troubleshooting I thought to reattach the screw and what do you know? All is well with the world

    For the Q50s, it looks like there's a frame around the window. For the Q60s, there isn't a frame around the window. So, for the Q60s, the window will automatically go down a little when the door is opened and will go back up when closed. The Q60 window will go back up when the screw is removed. So, the Q60 owner better put back the screw before they close their door.

      Ha! Good point if that switch is what the Q60s are using to determine when to seal the windows!

    Same, I literally bought air pods because of this very issue when washing my car, which is practically every other day. Would be awesome to source a plastic screw with the same threading rather than 3m tape. Going to look into it, thanks for sharing.

    Great idea but if you simply push that button in, it will silence the ding. I only found that out after watching your video. Thank you

    • @SquareWheelsAuto
      @SquareWheelsAuto  Год назад +1

      On mine as soon as I let the button go, the dings start again 😣

    Wow, this is amazing. There are idle laws where I live and you can get a ticket for leaving the car running while sitting still. I often stop at the store and review my grocery list while sitting there. That bell is horrible. Taking the screw out did work but it disengaged the light that is on the door and would help someone see the open door at night. The passenger door is the same button but doesn't ring. Is there a way to get the light to work but without the ringing? Thanks a lot!

    Instead of doing all of this. All you have to do is hit the lock button while the door is open and the chime will stop

    On mine it seemed like there was connection points while treading out. I just had to turn it 2 rotations to have the sound stop.

    I tried this in my 19 q50 sport and my puddle lights wouldn't turn on when I opened the door, also the headlights wouldn't turn off to my light timer settings of 30 seconds, and caused my remote start not to work. Once I put the bolt back all of those worked again.

      @@dannyboy8080 all it took for me to "deactivate" it was one turn of the screwdriver. So it's still in place just lost contact. If you want it to work the way it was designed just make sure to tighten that screw down

    I disliked it because I have never had to unscrew something to stop this noise. I actually got me car back from being serviced and this noise was back on. So I'm sure there's a simple control combination to disable this noise

      So you disliked my solution which definitely works, because you suspect (don't actually know) there's an alternative solution? Cool... thanks for sharing.
      If/when you find the other solution, come back and let us know, and maybe I'll take back my dislike😅
