      Equipment are just tools that combine everything you say into a package. I wish more people asked me how I come up with ideas, what fuel my creative mindset etc. When you start to understand how little the actual camera has to say to the end result. People feal a little bit cheated. 😂 I have no plan about stopping anytime soon. This is what I'm ment to do (feels like that for me) So much much more to come in the years ahead 🤩🎥

    As many viewers have pointed out, it´s not all about the bike, it´s the rider that makes it happen!
    Would like to make an suggestion your selection of action cam. I have used, Sony, Contour, GoPro and now Insta360 ONE RS. I find the ONE RS surpasses all the other cams in terms of stability and color right out of the "box". For someone as competent as you in editing I`m sure there might be some extra benefits here.

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  7 месяцев назад +1

      Well said! Trond. It is so much more than just cameras that goes into this. For me it is much more about what produces the best image, Hero 12 is the only action cam that offers LOG footage and you have GoPro Labs that gives you extra features in the camera so you can turn of the over sharpening that is going on, the weirded colours etc. GoPro is so much more stuff you can set up to your perfect need. Like a minimum and maximum shutter speed. So no matter what the conditions, your camera is locked in to work even if the picture get dark. This is more important for me than what looks best out of the box 🔥 But thank you for the advice. Would be cool to test the new Insta360 Ace Pro, and see how it holds up against the other brands.

    Gr8! I have also noticed the issue with stabilization in some clips. But then it was mounted to my mirror. I have not been a big fan of attaching cameras to my helmet since the GoPro Hero 5 Session was removed from production. That was a very lightweight and small awesome cam to mount on left side of my helmet. With better stabilization, resolution and frame rates it would still be my choice. But mounting to body or head helps to stabilize from all the motorcycle vibration. So I just got my ChinMount for my Action 3 and new GS Pure helmet. Will give it a try :-)

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  7 месяцев назад

      As long as your shutter speed exceed 1/200 minimum to 1/500 optimal, the rocksteady should work without any jitter. The problem is if you go lower then that. Then you will have the issue with jitter and this can often happen in low light or shadow areas with a bright sky. As you know, the dynamic range is not the best with these small sensors. Yes, the helmet mount helps a lot to remove vibrations, and could probably make you go down closer to 1/200 but still I hope you have more luck than me. I can't begin to tell you how much great footage I lost inside the forrest and technical parts on my trips. The one thing I absolutely love with GoPro is GoPro Labs. Here I can set max or min shutter speed, take away the noise reduction and even tell the camera how fast it should adjust from bright to dark and vice versa. Incredible tool that goes perfectly with my setup.

    Interesting insight into what you pack and how you set it up. 👍 As some touches on below: There's no price tag on having the "eye" and a proper workflow, but if you don't have decent enough gear you'll end up swearing and perhaps not use the gear as much as wanted. Going for carbon legs does come with a price tag, but I have both tripod and monopod all carbon, and I would never switch back. I compensate the weight savings on the legs by having massive long lenses... 😜
    Do you ever fear that the bouncing and shaking when riding on, for example, a bad gravel road full of holes, ruts and what not will damage your lens or camera? The action cameras and drone should be fine, but the camera stuff you have packed, do you have to pack it a certain way for it to survive?

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  7 месяцев назад

      This is something i try to tell everyone as well…. If you have the “wrong” gear for you, you end up not using it as much or like you should and then everything you do is crippled in a way. Get tools that inspire you, motivate you to get out and create whatever you do. And you will see what i mean. Carbon has a price tag, but I’m like you, Don’t regret it at all. I had some concern’s about it when the camera was new, but i had to take into consideration that this is a tool i will use to create my stories, If I’m afraid to use it, it wound be used like it should. I never had any problems with this, it looks like the sony lense is built as a tank. I just have it in my tank bag or my shoulder when i ride.

    I hope you Can sort the jitter, i have used several action cameras and all of them jitter when i have used ND filters to Get slower shutterspeed as this is part If the algorithm to make stabilization work. This has been true for DJI, GoPro, Sony and Insta360 as far as i have experienced.
    Maybe its fixed in Hero 12 i am exited to follow your experienced.

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  6 месяцев назад +1

      Well, from what I have experienced is that if you set up the gopro correctly, the stabilisation will turn off when the shutter speed gets to low, so you get shaky footage instead of that jitter that can't be used. The way the electronic stabilisation works in the gopro is different from DJI, and does not need as much shutter speed to work as the DJI. Some jitter is usable, but the ones you get with DJI is just horrific. Can't wait to give the camera a proper testing and see how I can utilise the LOG footage out of the hero 12.

    Do you find 25p gives you judder? Most displays are 60p so have to insert frames to play 25p back vs 30p which divides neatly. You mostly notice on panning shots where it gets jittery

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  7 месяцев назад

      Some screens can support 60p footage but won't display more than the source that it watch. How can I explain this. you on your end will not see this. But if I choose to edit on a 25fps timeline (my project) and shoot all my clips in 30fps, you can see a jump or a lag every now and then. It just don't feel as smooth. But that is all on my end, not the receiving end.

    • @chrisnielsen9885
      @chrisnielsen9885 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@tshansen just to clarify what I mean - I tested 24p and 30p footage on my desktop computer - it was clearly adding frames to the 24p shots, known as a 3:2 pull-down. That’s why my panning shots used to always have judder which stopped as soon as I changed to 30p. Now if you have a 100hz screen that’s not an issue because 25 divides neatly into 100, but on a 60hz screen 24 looks like dogs balls to me now I’m aware of what to look for

Jeg rammer mer inn øyeblikket med dedikert kamera! Jeg går litt inn i fotograf modus og leter etter komposisjon! Det gjør jeg sjeldent med iPhone! Fordelen man har med et dedikert kamera er ergonomi og kjappere og mer nøyaktig autofokus. Med riktig objektiv kan man ta andre typer bilder med et dedikert kamera. Det er også lettere og holde et dedikert kamera rolig. Mobilen blir ofte mer klumsete og fikle med. Men ja, bildekvaliteten i seg selv fre vertfall iPhone 15 Pro Max er helt i toppsjiktet, faktisk. Men det skal sies at jeg har lagt speilrefleksen på hylla for mange år siden. Mobilen har tatt over. Men jeg ser hvorfor folk velger dedikert kamera altså :)
