Me at Lvl 15: Well, SMT is infamous for being tough, so I'm gonna grind a bit. (Levels up to 20) Me: Hmmm, no, a bit more... (An hour later I am already at level 28) Me: Yeah, this feels right. (Proceeds to fight the boss and win with some difficulty) Me: Hey, that wasn't so bad! Wonder what was their level. (I look up the boss and find out that it was at level 36) Me: *You what*
dude i killed ashura (Delphinus boss) in like 2 turns... i think that i have much hee ho on my team (i used the snowman cannon, black frost, ace frost and king frost who was passed trought password by a friend)
I had trouble with Horkos because I was super underleveled first try, Jack took a few attempts but I had the Cohesion Ring, a Luster Candy user, and some Dis-Bomb so it was only a matter of time. Ouroboros was the only boss that gave me a ton of grief for all the RNG.
I really love how the boss themes in this game are so grandiose, imposing and menacing. They're catchy too, but they really make you feel the weight of humanity's fate resting on you, and the absolute horror of the situation you're in, having to face the gods, angels, demons and other creatures of mythology in a desperate battle for survival as one tiny human being, asked to answer for humanity's sins. Strange Journey is so unbelievably cool.
Also, (unlike in the other series entires) WE are in THEIR realm for entire duration of the game, without a proper summoning device (except for ones lend by who-knows-what) and minimal Deus Ex Machina moment from supernatural beings. They are at full force while our teams are underprepared like heck.
I don't know what instruments play in the background but the small change of pace totally leads the music incredible The percusión totally did it for this game
This feels like you're fighting a colossus, and I think I'm right knowing in the intro sequence of Redux those two demons fighting are definitely more big than any human.
One timeline: an American soldier named “Sneed” getting killed turn 2 by a metallic dragon with a sexy voice. Other time line: a snowkid with a flying pumpkin kicking weaklings to the dirt.
Hey, can a music nerd elaborate on the weird...syncopation (term?) With the drum beat during the build up? Ive been looping SMT and tales rhythms recently for my own music ideas and i dont get why the artist makes me stumble counting the main and backbeat, curious! Is it just to represent facing an alien threat?

Honestly I barely died in my strange journey playthrough I would say good fusion is way stronger than just raw stats.
i thought i was underleveled and then i beat mithras with 3 rakundas, some small damage with coop and 3 charged explosive fist from ippon datara
