This track/area cemented DDS1 as a stone-cold JRPG classic. It's such a vibe - chill, hostile, mysterious, alien, and hopeful, all at once.

One of the coolest ambient tracks that sets the tone for the rest of the game.

Kinda weird seeing a game that doesn't do the whole Baal tied to Beelzebub thing. Tbf Beelzebub here was added in post in a way that doesn't benefit the base game at all and it's really better off that they're separate. Shame Anat got axed after the prototype era though.

The DDS 1 & 2 duology gave me the SMT bug. Some of my all time favorite Meguro tracks are in these games. So chill and beautiful, simple, yet sad, like nighttime or rain. I think Meguro tapped into some special musical inspiration or groove in the era between Nocturne and Persona 3 that he's never quite returned to.

God'a wrath is going to be brutal when SMT VI comes out. Lucifer is a trixter demon, God probably had to deal with a different universe or vortex world and left meanwhile Lucy acting like he da shit in this Universe

This soundtrack is phenomenal. I can't believe these games haven't been remastered.

Interesting, it's a 4/4 song yet the main melody phrase divides itself into 7 and then 6 bars. That moment of syncopation as well made me question the time signature for a moment.
