Since i am just a beginner i did not understand that much, but this video introduced me to a new concept to explore. So thank you casey farris and cullen kelly!
You two are a great team! Great questions and answers. This has been the most helpful video I've seen so far on color spaces and transforms, need to rewatch a few times to grasp everything.
Wow! That was incredibly helpful to see you work thru a problem and thereby impart practical reasons on WHY to focus on color management and HOW to do it. Really, really good!
Hi, interesting and useful video. A question though, why don't you use the viewer LUTs to view the footage in a more pleasing way while you composite instead of that color space transform ? Thanks.
That blew my mind! 🤯 And also highlights how much I don't understand with it all. Is there a good video that is a step or 2 back from this one that explains gamuts and colour spaces and all those other terms that went over my head? 🤔😂
Cheers Casey. I will do that. Been using Premier Pro for years with dabbling in after effects, but just made the switch to Davinci. Your videos have been my stepping stone to getting to grips with it. Perfect presentation and style with the right level of humour to keep it light. You're the Ryan Reynolds of tuitional videos. Everything has made sense.......until today. 😂 Keep it up man, new lifelong subscriber.
I'm running into a problem now, that I have applied some color stuff and a cst on my clip (open the fusion clip in timeline to get to the underlaying footage) in the color page. When switching to my timeline now, the color management isn't correctly applied. So my question would be: Does the Media in inherit the color options from the clip, that it's being fed from?
We had some issues w/ the lavs and had different mic (placed offscreen) as a backup just in case something went wrong. Good thing we did or else it would have been worse!
Hello, I am working on creating HDR videos. However, I am having trouble with the colors of source images appearing differently on my HDR monitor while working in the Fusion page within a project set to the Rec. 2100 HLG color space. Additionally, the source images I composited in Fusion are displayed with strange colors in the exported HDR video. Could you create a simple tutorial video to help solve this issue?
I am using a monitor that supports HDR, and HDR functionality is enabled in Windows. Colors are displayed correctly on the Edit Page in DaVinci Resolve, but they do not match properly on the Fusion Page. On the Fusion Page, the colors appear washed out on my HDR monitor. Is there a solution to this issue?

Wow. Cant belive I got to listen to this masterclass for free! Great video guys! Love the dynamic you got going in person!
I glad how far I’ve come in a span of 1 year+ of doing videography, like I understood almost the entire things thanks to Cullen and his grade school.

Def look at Cullen's videos, he's got lots of that stuff.
We also go over a lot of this in our program, Fusion: Zero to Hero

Love it 🔥
Good presentation- Question- what were your project level settings re- colour management?
Also...it would have been great to show the creation & use of a viewing transform so the linear comp looked correct in Rec709 display
I just wanna say, the ABR shirt is dope.

whats up with the sound? you both have lav mics on but the audio sounds like its coming from the built in camera microphone
