1 smoking cannabis is still illegal is you are a trucker with a Class A CDL and that is Federal Law, until it is changed. 2 no where in the video on the subject does it say the driver smoking was getting ready to drive off or if the driver went to bed; if the driver was getting ready to roll, that becomes a safety issue. If the driver was going to bed; a good nights sleep would be had and no safety issue in the morning. From what I heard from the calls there was zero proof anything was being used; caller never stated he saw the driver smoking cannabis, he only said the "odor was coming from his truck". The odor could be coming from next to his truck also and the wind carries it, could also be something else, that maybe what the cops are thinking, who knows. People will make their own choices and they have to deal with it.
I don't smoke. There's no evidence that smoking a joint (or drinking a couple of beers) impairs driving after a night's sleep. And we have no context as to the reason for him smoking. It might just be recreational, but it could be medical or even just to relieve back pain to allow him to get a good night's sleep in order to drive safely the next day. I think the call was intrusive and an overreaction. I can understand the caller's annoyance if he doesn't want to be exposed to that smoke and there wasn't any option to repark his truck nearby. The general lack of tolerance in society today for small things, esp regarding driving (road rage) is alarming.
True story. This happened to me two years ago. I have a girlfriend who rides with me from time to time. She suffers from bipolar disorder and has a medical card. We were in Denver at a truck stop. I went inside to use the restroom and get us something to eat. She was smoking in the bunk with the windows open and someone called the police. I got back to the truck when a cruiser was slow rolling through the parking lot. They stopped in front of my truck, got out and approached me. The officer told me that they were responding to a call of a driver smoking. My girlfriend immediately owned up to it, showed her card. They left us alone. Two days later, I get called in for a random test and passed. Moral of the story. Dot your I’s and cross your T’s before making assumptions. This driver has a woman in his truck and he’s worried about another man.
So maybe the driver put a hard day in and needed to unwind. I started driving trucks in 1979 and retired in good standing in 2018. Thats 39 years ACCIDENT FREE, INCIDENT FREE. I was smoking pot when i started in 79 and never stopped Still havent stopped. Smoked pot everyday. Helll man, i wouldnt even think about getting behind the wheel in the morning without catching a buzz first. Never had a problem. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Weed smell is so disgusting. Akin to sewage it is nasty and pungent it gets into everything and lingers for far too long. I would be pissed if I was woken up by that stench.

This driver should mind his own business and stop worrying about others! This is part of the problem drivers don’t get along with anyone and things won’t ever be the way they used to be back when trucking was fun. Do any of you remember the days when drivers would sit around at the truck stop and have BBQ’s and drink some beer and just have a good time and enjoy life and tell stories? Well I do and it’s a damn shame the trucking industry isn’t that way anymore! One last thing Snitches get stitches so stop being bitches! Amen
If they're in their truck, in the truck stop, that's their business. If they're on the road operating their truck and it's evident they're under the influence, then, and only then does it become mine.
Technically there’s no law against smoking MJ just driving under the influence and being able to pass that random drug test. So he being uptight and most likely doesn’t like what the guy looked like. Snitches get stitches and wind up in ditches.
I had a frozen load of meat that unloaded early. When I got to the truck stop the washout wasn’t open yet so I went to bed. About 8am a Flying J worker woke me up and ask about a little blood dripping out of the drain holes. Apparently some Canadian driver was concerned about it.
I stayed in West Memphis few years ago FFE driver parked next to me answered the call of CB dope dealer it was bleeding through my CB . He got the information to get the stuff . Dropped his trailer went to retrieve the stuff . Later on it was a driver did exact same thing bought his dope drove a few hours high killed a woman and kids on us 425 in Arkansas . I was fired from a foundry who I drove for . For testing positive from smoking pot on weekend at a party back when it was illeagal. I applied at several companies they wanted me asap. I chose one that had top shelf everthing.

Your smoke blows into a different vehicle... they ingest it... and fail a random test later. Screw minding my business. Blows in my truck, cops get called. If you can't be smart, be fucking discreet. Nuff said.
THC levels caused by passive exposure are about 100 times less than levels caused by active exposure to marijuana. When administered properly, oral fluid tests leave no possibility for false positives due to passive exposure to THC.
Before I drove truck, and took a pre-employment for another job. I failed it, and tried to use the "second hand smoke" excuse to the MRO. He called B S., and told me I would have to sit in a room for a few hours inhaling it to even possibly pop positive. Calm down sport, in some circumstances it could save your life.
I see many overweight truckers somehow pass D.O.T physical, bet they pay extra to pass illegally.
Yeah I'm going to have to say I'm not a big fan of dime droppers. Never was.
I been driving for over 25 years, back when Ta in Ontario Ca,,truck driver's partied all night long,,❤❤❤
Legalize it
Not defending the guy smoking, BUT, herbal cigarettes do smell just like weed. So it's "possible" that it wasn't weed.
I was smoking pot when i started in 79 and never stopped
Still havent stopped. Smoked pot everyday. Helll man, i wouldnt even think about getting behind the wheel in the morning without catching a buzz first. Never had a problem. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Thanks for your service old school that’s how my dad and uncles trucked and that’s how I’m trucking
The big problem is that the smoke is making it to other people.
Weed smell is so disgusting. Akin to sewage it is nasty and pungent it gets into everything and lingers for far too long. I would be pissed if I was woken up by that stench.
Be pissed all you want. Still…mind ya business
@@YhvngKV or what, internet tough guy. What if I dont mind my business, then what?
@@blutkind9202 then you just gon be sitn there pissed lol your attitude doesn’t hurt anybody
If I'm not correct let me know but if he isn't driving, let it go. Dude was just taking the edge off. "Mind your own business" comes to mind.
That truck diver needs cheese 🧀
If he's puffing, who cares? Was the driver smoking the wacky tobaccky chilling 😎 on his off hours in a truck stop? This Mother Trucker should have minded his own business.
Amen
It's legal to smoke Mary Jane Pennsylvania now!
I have seen and smelled that exact situation. I didn't say anything but they are definitely risking there jobs.
In the world we live in today the best thing you should do is mind your business
Imagine me calling the police. The trucker next to me has a gun in his cab.
Man move over if it bothers you
If the guy wasn't about to drive, for example he's on his 10-hour break, that's his problem. That's his risk, I don't care what they do.
I own my own fleet I smoke weed going down the road all day ...cmon
Soon they will catch u.
No drug test?
If they're in their truck, in the truck stop, that's their business. If they're on the road operating their truck and it's evident they're under the influence, then, and only then does it become mine.
If it’s his truck he can do what he wants
Mind your business
Technically there’s no law against smoking MJ just driving under the influence and being able to pass that random drug test. So he being uptight and most likely doesn’t like what the guy looked like. Snitches get stitches and wind up in ditches.
U call the company not the fuckn cops 😒 🙄
Why would you call anyone?
If they hit someone while high ,the company is fuck up.
Mind the business that pays you. The comment section 💪🏾 💯
See what the Police did? Nothing, so he should have let it go, because people are crazy out here. Stay safe snitch😮😮😢
I had a frozen load of meat that unloaded early. When I got to the truck stop the washout wasn’t open yet so I went to bed. About 8am a Flying J worker woke me up and ask about a little blood dripping out of the drain holes. Apparently some Canadian driver was concerned about it.
Keep your eyes in your house, and in this case, Nose 👃 there as well. Now, on the ROAD, a different story .
If he was on a 10hr break & didn’t pull off immediately then they should have minded their business
& only tells u that NO- ONE- REALLY- cares @ all anymore & the trucking industry is absolutely 💯 % doomed @ this point
The newspaper article said he spent his day getting high .
Yep, And the trucking company had to pay millions for driver stupidity
And these truck drivers wonder why
Trucking companies are trying to go self driving trucks.
ALL HAIL to Cheech and Chong . LMFAO
Pot should be legal in a country that says its about freedom
I was fired from a foundry who I drove for . For testing positive from smoking pot on weekend at a party back when it was illeagal. I applied at several companies they wanted me asap. I chose one that had top shelf everthing.
Cops don’t like RATS 🐀 sometimes drivers need to mind their own business
Flip flop mafia shit
If he was on his 10 hour break or his 72 hour reset It is not that truck driver's business what he did. As long as he went getting wasted and pulling out on the highway.
@@koolerstream921thank you
Get knowledge b4 u start panicking
Smh 😂 wata ediut
Before I drove truck, and took a pre-employment for another job. I failed it, and tried to use the "second hand smoke" excuse to the MRO. He called B S., and told me I would have to sit in a room for a few hours inhaling it to even possibly pop positive. Calm down sport, in some circumstances it could save your life. If you are that concerned, move.
Unless they're actively murdering someone or holding them hostage or driving with the 40 in their hand MIND YA BUSINESS.
Tattle tail!! Mind your own business!!
Hes on private property and he wasnt driving!
Should be worried more about alcohol, meth, coke. Red Bulls and lack of sleep. This guy was probably at the end of his shift trying to relax.
I feel like it was racism apart of this
Usually a busybody is so concerned about what other people are doing that they don’t even look in their own backyard.
I hate snits's money on business. You might get your airlines cut
You would not call someone for have a beer while parked why call when someone is smoking a joint while parked on a break.
Mind ur own business omg when my truck is parked it’s my home and what I do inside is my business 🤷♂️I bet u call on lot lizards walking around the parking lot too .
Where are these mythical lizards? Haven't seen one in years!
