i’ve watched this fight a good 4-5 times, it’s so interesting seeing how tough Volk was the entire fight. Ortega really has the stamina and can take a nasty punch.
Apparently Volk practiced 1000 times or more during training getting out of guillotines and triangle chokes in preparation for Ortega, and wow did that preparation pay off. Still, without that heart of a champion and without those superman skills, Volk might not have survived.

Was no fan of Ortega in the beginning. But, after watching him for a while, and seeing the tremendous heart he has, he's earned my respect and admiration. He's what the great Greek philosophers called "men with chests."
I love how much respect the fighters have for one another in the UFC. These guys tried to kill each other for 25min straight and then hugged it out right after...
that's the first thing I noticed about the sport when I started watching around 2 years ago. It's so ironic how they literally try to kill each other for 15-25 min and then hug like they're best friends right afterwards

Volk is the perfect size for FW, he's not small but he's not as big as most others in top 10 and it gives him a speed advantage that he constantly uses to his benefit.
it's interesting to watch a fight 3 times, once live with all the craziness, once from Volk's perspective, once from Ortega's perspective, it will make you understand the fight and their style and tactics much better.
The Volkanovski ride has been inspiring. UFC fans went from being indifferent, disliking, respecting, and finally loving when it comes to Volkanovski. I hope he keeps the chip on his shoulder and finishes Topuria despite recent events.
