So ironic that Jiri was winning on the feet while Glover was winning on the floor throughout the first 4 rounds, but then Glover starts winning on the feet in the 5th with Jiri ultimately finishing the fight on the ground. This fight was like a movie lol

One of the greatest fights I've ever seen by two men who embody all that's best in Martial Arts spirituality, character building, and respect. This was poetry in motion and possibly the most exciting fight I've ever seen. It's a shame people like McGregor and Paddy get so much attention and guys like Glover, one of the most inspiring fighters ever, to go completely unnoticed to anyone outside the MMA community.

After now watching this fight at least 10 times, I truly believe the reason why Glover wasn't able to secure that guillotine wasn't because he was tired. It was because of that damn ponytail Juri is one of a kind truly brilliant

Rewatching this masterpiece…This really broke my heart for Glover because he was winning beating all odds at 42……This fight was beyond insane, back and fourth insanity. Glover is 42 yrs old fighting a savage in Jiri, Glover was killing him on the ground and Jiri was killing Glover on the feet then the roles reversed in the 5th was nuts. Glover almost won yet made a mistake after he had Jiri hurt bad then tried to jump a choke cost him this fight……Jiri had to dig real deep and he did and he won. What a banger.
Two gentleman striving for the sake of competition instead of cheap anger - you can see it all over them - the epitome of martial arts discipline.

Eyez Only . At his age, the fight IQ isn't there; if you have a dominant controlling position AND able to do damage, you keep the position and do the damage. You don't attempt flashy finishes with a younger man that's already beat you 4 previous times. But hey, it is the UFC and he may have had to take those ridiculous chances.

Pode até ser mas o jiry é o tipo de oponente que te leva as aguas profundas depois de ver essa luta hj percebi que Glover se virou muito bem pra sua idade mais não tava nada fácil pra ele outro cara teria sucumbido ao jogo do jiry.
Esse cara é foda o jogo dele confunde muito e mistura cotoveladas violentíssimas com socos pesados.

What do you mean? Glover's been stomping people for over a decade, doing basically the same old thing to all of them. And he damn near did it to Jiri as well. Yes, Jiri won the fight, but as far as styles go, I'd say having a rock for a head and waiting for people to wear themselves out remains pretty viable.

Феноменальный бой с такими разменами в партере, с такими свипами - это просто нечто! скорей всего Гловер не дотерпел 30 секунд до своей победы, в конце решил толчок ногами от сетки, так то позиция была фулл маунт и в ней можно было спокойно оставшееся время контролировать чеха. Самое интересное что в середине боя Прохаска отлично защитился от опасных попыток удушки, причем Гловер по бжж собаку съел, опасный дядька, по этому это ещё больший плюс в резюме чеха. Но то что в последнем раунде Тейшейра стал разбирать на руках Прохаску, который до этого раунда в стойке смотрелся сильнее - вообще шок) Кормье с Биспингом так и не поняли почему Гловер шел после хороших попаданий в борьбу, а не развивал успех. Наверное уже просто сил не было.
Или ошибка угла,могли советовать идти в борьбу,хотя в 5 раунде точно это было лишним
Сам Гловер рассказал что слишком устал в 5 раунде и поэтому хотел завязать Иржи в борьбе до конца раунда, но не сумел и отдал позицию, на выход из которой выжал всё что было. Все таки возраст даёт о себе знать, и в переломный момент измотанное тело не способно выдать последний спурт на морально-волевых.
Я думаю Тейшейре не надо было пойти на ручной треугольник повторно.Оно у него отняла очень много сил отняла.
И в конце вы правы,просто надо было контролировать свою позицию сверху. Очень интересный бой

The whole sequence by Glover starting at 21:38 is one of my favorite grappling exchanges in all of MMA and is certainly one of the highlights of his already amazing career. I know he didn’t win but my god the transition from deep half ending in that perfect sit through was a thing of beauty.

Two pure warriors, but two distinct beautiful styles. I'm so grateful that this fight happened.
This fight between Alex and Jiri is very unpredictable, people underestimate Jiri for this performance against Glover, but remember that Jiri survived and submitted the best grappler in the division, Jan also gave a lot of work to Alex who only won in a split decision and it could go either way, also remember what Glover did to Jan in their fight. Styles make fights, I think whoever manages the distance better and counters punches better, wins.
So true, whenever i look at each side's highlights i tend to lean towards them,they're that evenly matched, it could go either way
