Listening to this and the feeling you put into it, is like putting a warm blanket around my shoulders. You don't just play the notes, you really make the music live. Thank You for sharing this with us.
I come from Poland and our national poet Adam Mickiewicz in one of his sonnets wrote words that reflect my admiration for your organ playing: "There is no voice for it in a living language." I also lack words to express my admiration for your talent and love of organ music, for me it is the king of instruments.
This is pure Heaven. Your settings are perfect for this piece making it so lovely and the pace is just right. It fills my soul and brings peace and joy to my heart. Thank you Paul. ♥

Beautiful, Paul. I closed my eyes and relished the sounds you registered from the E M Skinner sampled by Evensong. Thank you so much, Paul for sharing this piece with us.
What a wonderful rendition. I never would have thought how well a reed stop conveys the mood of this piece; that’s a very creative registration which surprisingly does not overwhelm the the gentle nature of the piece. We think so often of reeds for their power and almost flaming presence, but here the reed takes on an amazing depth of deep emotion conveying the gentle nature of this piece. Well done.
Among my favorite movies because the music blends well with the theme. Thank you for sharing as I will probably have the tune in my mind for the rest of the day.
Paul, I can't tell you how much your playing of this piece moves me. It holds very emotionally loaded memories for me, associated with the funeral I conducted, a number of years ago, of baby of only a few days old, named Gabriel. This piece was played and was more powerful than any words spoken. You were born to make music. You play with intense feeling. Each time, your registration choices and tempo, I don't think, could be improved upon and your own compositions are a real joy to listen to. I love your elegy. I wonder if you have come across George Thalben-Ball's Elegy, another of my favourites. Do you have plans to produce a CD anytime soon? Thank you again.
Absolutely glorious! As soon as you started those strings made me think of the Wanamaker, just so beautiful. I can't think of anything Morricone ever wrote that wasn't brilliant and most of his output transcribes really well for so many different groups, from orchestra to brass / wind / military bands and now I hear an organ transcription for the first time too. This piece is truly astoundingly beautiful and the Skinner was a great choice. Love it, nice one Paul 👍 Thank you.
BEAUTIFULLY registered and articulated! Skinner's symphonic design comes through gloriously here! Amazing that you were able to get so much of a 4-manual instrument into 2 manuals!
@@PaulFey I'm not familiar with the details of Hauptwerk - does the sequencer allow you to pick and choose among all of the stops available on the Skinner and re-assign them to whichever manual or pedal you wish - so that you have the needed combinations between the two manuals?
OMG! So beautiful! First time I've heard this piece or heard of it. (And I love seeing the footwork!!!) And your musicianship! Absolutely stunning to my ear!

Hi Paul, please can you let me know version this is. I am hoping to be able to find it to download in advance of a memorial service next week. Many thanks!
Paul, your sense of "timing" and legato are so beautiful in this lovely tune. And what an organ! Ernest Skinner is my favorite American organ builder by far, and it's so very sad that most of his instruments were changed, almost beyond recognition in some cases, due to changing tastes, and much of that happened while he was still alive. He was certainly a very proud man, and sure of his talents, so this was very difficult for him. In at least one case, he begged the organist & committee of an important church to allow HIM to do some "modernizing" at no cost (!) to the church, and they bluntly refused. I believe this might have been the famous St. Thomas Church on 5th Avenue, NYC, but I could be wrong. Someone please correct me if so! The organ there was then changed, over & over, until it was a "mongrel" with little style, and also poor at its main job of assisting the very fine choir. Sorry for the rant! As always: Bravo, Paul!
Thank you so much for watching and your support!! I dont know if my email reached you 😊 That’s a very interesting story!! I‘ll have to do some research 😀
