Because you asked for it! Here's a FLAC download link for the soundtrack of this SMB2 Hack, The Beatles Adventures In Pepperland, both in Mono and Stereo as presented in this video! A splendid time is guaranteed for all!: bit.ly/SMB2BeatlesPepperlandSoundtrackByShauing
Thank You Shauing for this awesome soundtrack! I’ve been a huge Beatlemaniac since I was 8 and would’ve played this game had it come out back in 1988. Thank you Nesdraug for making an awesome mod and to you Shauing, again, for this awesome soundtrack!
Pure genius, dude. You too, Nesdraug! I've been glued to KosmicD's channel for months, especially "RomHack Wednesdays", which led me to purchase an Everdrive for NES. Probably spent 50-60 hours (since 2015, maybe?) trying to SMB1 with the most popular utilities... the amount of work this game must've taken you is mind-blowing. Just started playing it a few days ago (ALWAYS AS PAUL!!! lol I do play bass🤷♂ but I will definitely play as all band members eventually). I've beaten the snot out of SMB2 about 1000 times in the last thirty years. Prolly why I'm a 43yo line cook with no wife or kids lol... I remember screaming for my Mom to come in and watch when I got to Wart for the first time ever... and I subsequently got killed by those damn bubbles repeatedly. The way in which you use doors is fantastic. The music?! My god, man! (Apologies, I haven't thanked you for this video yet... thank you!) The graphics? Among the best hacks I've played. 6/5 stars Currently only playing this game and "The Legend Of Iowa" Just got the syringe...🤣🤣🤣🤣 ✌💗🤘
So happy to read your reaction and very positive words towards our mod in every aspect. So thrilled that you liked it that much, hope you have a lot of fun playing, listening, looking at it!
Sgt. Pepper's still is my favorite Beatles album. The Yellow Submarine film used at least 5 songs from Pepper, and we used at least three here plus the Reprise which wasn't in the film. So yeah, lots of hearing that album and the others too to adapt them as close as I could!
Wow! This is amazing. I stumbled across this on reddit, and I'm very impressed at how well done it is. I'm a little selfish, 'And Your Bird Can Sing', 'She loves you' etc. are missing (my favorite Beatles tunes) but pat yourself on the back all the same.
Thank you for liking it! Oh from reddit? Interesting! Yeah, lots of Beatles songs missing but one can only fit so many in the game about Yellow Submarine. Maybe will do some more adaptations in the future even if they're not for a hack. Time will only tell. Thank you very much again for enjoying these adaptations of Beatle tunes!
I'm very happy to read that you loved the romhack so much! It was indeed a work of love and passion for us for The Beatles and SMB2! Thank you so much for playing it and liking it so much!
This is excellent - I'm a *huge* fan of both video game/chiptune music and creative covers in general. Cracked just linked to it, this is a lot of fun. You should really have a way to download/buy the soundtrack, though? It would be even more fun, at least for us weird nerds, if there was a download option for an nsf file :D.
I'll consider a download link at least, I really didn't expect to be that good or worthy. No profit though as it's Beatles material still, but doesn't matter, it was a fun thing to do and I'm happy people are enjoying the soundtrack and the hack that much!
I keep hearing the "Strawberry Fields Forever" riff, I'm having trouble pinpointing exactly what part it is. Best guess, is it supposed to be the "Let me take you down" part? if so, pretty clever.
I think it varied between songs, but was between a week and a month each. For all of them I did the transcription by ear, some into sheet music, some into Famitracker and some directly into the game via hex editing.
Thank you SirTurtlelot! Well, you can check the SMB2 disassembly to read how the music engine works and do the changes via hex-editing (or in the dissassembly itself if you're working your hack with it). Music hacking differs from game to game as they had to pretty much build their own music/sound engine, but fortunately, SMB2U is one that has been documented by disassemblers.
@@ShauingOfficial where the carp is that? I'm more new to this as I am to 6502 Assembly (and that says a lot, because I'm stuck at the "before the beginning" part)
@@The-E-Base If the SMB2 rom you found on the internet is leading you to a blank screen, then it's either the PRG1/RevA version. You'll have to find another.
Shauing I am totally interested in doing sound hacks of the original SMB trilogy and Donkey Kong for NES could you please clue me into what apps you used to make this awesome SMB2 sound hack?
Hello there! The music hacking was done with a hex editor where I changed the values that made up each music track (note lengths, note pitches and instruments for each of the four audio channels).
@@ajsvideodump yup, all those steps via the hex editor as there's no music tool available. It is not hard once you know the steps, but of course you have to know how everything works.
