I was at this, it was a ton of fun to see biohazard for the first time. I got to touch Bobby’s guitar when he invited everyone up front, and I got James Lomenzos pick at the end!! Sucked that it was in a seated venue though.
The roadie story reminds me of when I saw Sabbath, Soundgarden and Faith No More at Hyde Park in London. I got cheap VIP tickets for that show and had full access to all the backstage facilities. I queued up for a piss just as FNM started and just as I climbed into the Portakabin with the urinals in, this giant man with a wooly hat and a long ponytail down his back stood next to me and started talking to me about Faith No More and Sabbath. It was only Kim fucking Thayil from Soundgarden! I can now say that I had a chat with one of my heroes and biggest influences!
I do love the smaller venues, it really does make it feel like a more personal and intimate kind of concert. The Last In Line show I went to in 2019 was at a local venue, and of all the attendees I was the only VIP ticket holder. An unforgettable evening, got to talk with each member of the band, watch the sound check and they played a song for me, it was awesome. So I agree with you, if it's a smaller venue, still go, you never know how the night might play out. Pretty cool that the drummer gave a great performance with the more minimal kit. To paraphrase a well known saying "It's not what you have it's the way that you use it". Teemu is obviously a good and hardworking musician, the fact that he can just come in and knock out a killer performance like that is just testament to his skill and ability, so crazy that he's only 1 year older than me. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out for an opportunity to see him play. Sucks they didn't play the songs you were looking forward to hearing, hopefully some live footage will show up and you can do a little analysis video or something on that. Looking forward to the 311 review. I hope I get to see Megadeth play at some point, I've yet to see them or Metallica.
Looks like Teemu definitely did it justice, I'm VERY glad u went! Ha, and that's exactly why I love Biohazard too, really bringing that old school thrash energy! It was extremely cool of you to share that most excellent moment with us via live during the show, I threw the horns 🤘🏻 and headbanged along! ❤️🔥😁 I'm really excited for the 311 vid. ☺️
*I got to go to a Megadeth concert and meet n greet of just 198 people at a tiny club in Phoenix over 20 years ago* (An event with 98KUPD) But they played the show on acoustic. It was still cool. We were like 10 feet away then everyone got to get signed stuff from the band.
Saw Biohazard at the 1993 Dynamo Festival. Total chaos, they blew everyone away. Megadeth the same year in the Rotterdam Kuip with Metallica and Suicidal Tendencies. I was more impressed with the insane energy from ST then. It was great seeing both at this year's edition of the Dynamo Festival. Unbelievable how these guys rock on the way they do.
WTF?! They don’t take the seats out for a live band in theatres in the US? That sucks! In the UK, and London in particular, there are two venues that are theatres and whenever bands like Megadeth or Killswitch Engage have played these venues there were no seats, but when a standup comedian plays one of these venues they put the seats back in.
depends where they play at. Some do some dont. I t didn't matter to me as an older metalhead. But in the 80's and 90's it did not matter to us what they put up front - if it was in our way it was destroyed. We were different.
There are definitely many venues that do such things, but it sounds like this particular operation was a bit of a mess. Poor layout, odd design in general.
Cool review man. The new guitarist seems like a beast, the clips I've seen sound great. Am also a big fan of Dirk's drumming. I think I'd actually go see this version of megadeth!
I got to see Biohazard for the first time with Megadeth in Indiana a couple weekends ago and they’re a badass band. Dave made a comment that was like “You notice I don’t really talk much during our set. Other bands, you know how they talk to much cause there songs are… eeehhh” and I chuckled cause that was a Dave thing to say.
We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We got congratulated for our wedding anniversary anniversary by James LoMenzo and Dave Mustaine during the VIP Q and A. And to top it off, during the very last night of our vacation, I ran into Corpsegrinder at the Mall of America.
I saw this show @ Hard Rock in Atlantic City and it was GA on the floor, Biohazard kicked ass as did Megadeth and Teenu blew me away!!!!!…….and yes!!! They did Darkest Hour, Wake up and Tornado in AC
I saw Biohazard over here in Germany back in the 90s. The energy was so intense that I went for stage diving for the very first time. Man I felt and looked like a beaten dog the next day but it was definitely worth it! ;)
I just saw megadeth for the first time ever at aftershock, and they were amazing. The only problem with the show was that it was extremely short, only 40 minutes. But I also saw godsmack there, and I had never even heard anything by them, but that was probably one of the best shows I’ll ever see, there was so much energy and excitement in the band and the crowd, it was just amazing
When Biohazard first came to the UK and played at Donington Monsters of Rock 94. They encouraged everyone to get on stage with them. Event organisers freaked out and pulled the plug on the amps and kicked them off the stage. It was awesome. Good the see them still keeping it real. We're from Brooklyn Mother Fuckers!!
Saw them in Saskatoon back on May 4th/23, was wicked, I was buzzing for a few days after. Haven't been to a show in a while so got a couple buddies together and drove down, was a great experience, felt like a kid. We had such a good time together right after we bought tickets to Metallica/Pantera in Edmonton on Aug/2024. Now that show I am so fucking excited for, going to be about an 8 hour drive and I'm looking forward to all of it. They did play tornado of souls at the show I was at.
I was at the Metallica/GNR show at the dome. James was still bandaged from the pyro accident and Axl took so long we left half way through the GNR set. The rain was so hard we could barely navigate on the 2 hour ride home.
Great review! Keep up the good work! Axl was notorious for going on stage late. I attended a G'N'R show back in 1992 and the band went on about 2 hours late. Axl cut his hand pretty badly on the microphone stand about 3 songs into the set and had to leave the stage. Duff, Slash, and Gilbey Clark had to keep the show going for 3-4 songs while Axl was away getting medical attention. Finally, when Axl returned, they only played for another three songs before cutting the show short! That was a bummer!☹ Congrats on winning back the cost of your tickets! The gods truly wanted you to go to this concert!
Haven't gotten to see Megadeth yet, but I have seen Biohazard back in the 90s at the Stone Pony in Jersey. Crazy show... House of Pain and KoЯn actually opened, before anyone knew who they were. Good times...
Went to the concert the night before in Fargo. I thought the set list for that show was great! They played she-wolf, wake up dead and my darkest hour. Also biohazard was able to pull off a circle pit since it was in a hockey arena.
I saw Reinventing The Steel (Pantera) in House of Blues (Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas) bc friend "accidentally" got "wrong" tickets and I already had tickets for Portland so we just went to both. Took a cheap redeye to Vegas, partied, saw the show, got on another redeye back to Portland, partied, saw the show, partied, crashed out for three days. GREAT WEEK! EDIT: just realized that the kid from Hammerhedd made a pile of their videos with a classic Carvin V220, if you haven't checked them out, try them; awesome that Keisel brought back X styles.
I haven't played guitar for more than 20 years. I always wanted a Gibson SG when I was young, but thst never happened. I started seeing the first footage of the Biohazard reunion shows and saw Billy with the ESP LTD Viper and fell in love with the guitar and since I'm now older and have some money to spend, I decided to finally go ahead and buy the same Evertune Viper as Billy and practice again. That's also basically how your channel started popping up in my feed after searching for videos to learn some stuff. God, I wish youtube existee when I was a kid practicing songs 😂
First time seeing both live, before the concert I didn’t even know who Biohazard was. The new guitarist was great to see and overall had a rather clean and great sound. I really liked the whole feel of a tout le monde when it was played, both bands were just great.
I’ve seen them first last year in May in Quebec City, May of this year in Halifax and 2 weeks ago in Windsor, and despite it being a pretty regular song on the setlist we missed In my darkest hour every single time lol. Of course they played it all at the next show 😐😭 The sound of the show at a smallish venue (
Okay, this was fair. I'm a massive Megadeth fan. Very cool you mentioned Dirk. I've been taking the time to watch his drumcams.I highly recommend them. He also covered "Mr. Brightside" blindly on Drumeo. Yes, he really seems to be a nice humble guy. I think Dave get's a bad rap because he's a perfectionist. Ha., yes I'm a Mustaine fan. Our birthdays are literally 12 days apart. I get misunderstood a lot too. We're just perfectionists that can come across a bit stern. I'm going to see them in September. I'm really looking forward to the show & my special "VIP Shirt". Yes, that does seem like a Mustaine thing. I haven't heard anything about Kiko coming back. Any new news? Thanks, for your review. I enjoyed it. @ 11:50 No.... you cut out my favorite lyric of all time. "Gives me a migraine headache sinking down to your level". That is so Mustaine. I love it.
i was at this show! my girlfriend and i drove up from Kansas. we happened to stop at a guitar center on a whim and saw a Dave Mustaine signature Kramer V for a good price so i just had to buy it! Such a super cool thing to get right after seeing them for my first time!
I saw them at the Hard Rock Casino a few days before you. I bought Dave Mustaine’s guitar that he used on Symphony of Destruction. He signed it. On my way out the next day someone stopped me in the casino. He said “What the F*CK is in that guitar case?!?” It took a moment but I recognized him - it was Bobby from Biohazard. Really cool guy. I let him play the Mustaine V on the casino floor. Whenever I go see Megadeth I’m always in the pit on the railing at stage right. It’s the ONLY way to watch one of their shows.
Maybe I should be a rock star too? My singing along could get me far, and I'm a pretty good guitar player too. At least a rhythm guitarist. My fingers refuse to move for the solos and I suck at picking the right strings that fast.
Don't get me wrong, I like Back to the Future part 2, but it doesn't feel the same. Not just Jennifer, but the whole movie. I feel like maybe Spielberg had more of a hand in the first one, which is why it feels 'tighter' with the script and direction. Part 2 has some kinda goofy moments that felt overboard. I saw Megadeth on their Rust in Peace anniversary, which was nuts to see songs like Five Magics live, because I don't think they play that normally. Very cool that Mustaine's voice was doing OK, since it is definitely hit or miss.
I saw Ministry, Sepultura and Helmet at Maple Leaf Gardens, 1991 or '92. The show started with seats on the floor. Once the seats started flying in the air, the show was stopped. The lights came on and the chairs were removed. Concert went on with a huge pit, as it should have from the beginning. The best band crowds need no seats.
I saw Biohazard opening Slayer in 1995, I remember really liking them live, and then I bought the album, 'State Of The World Address' and couldn't get into it at all, it was kind of dull or something. But live they were great.
The V.I.P. shirts' back was taken from CHEVY CHASE on SNL. he used to do the Weekend Update news sketch & it would ALWAYS start : "I'm CHEVY CHASE & you're Not".
It's a state of the world address...muthafu.... Dude, I remember the Megadeth tour with Korn. Would have been around '96. Fear Factory was also on the bill. That was a great show! It was the first time I had really heard Korn, so it blew me away.
I saw Biohazard live in October 2001. They put on a great show. Putting a metal show in an all seated theatre isn't right. It isn't a celine dion concert. There are plenty of people who just want to sit and watch the band who should be accommodated at every gig. But let people mosh and go crazy with a cathartic release of pent up aggression. When Archspire played Dublin in March there was a great vibe because there were people who could go upstairs and watch or watch from the bar but the main body of the crowd were moshing and crowd surfing and the band themselves had a gimmick to encourage a wall of death. There was even stage diving. That theatre venue you were at looks lame by comparison to be honest. Well done to Biohazard for making it a metal show.
I saw Megadeth in Window Rock, AZ and they played in a rodeo. They had the grand stands and they had the actual rodeo grounds open. I got put on my ass in the mosh pit during Holy Wars and it was 13/10 concert.
Hi, saw them in Grantville. They were amazing. Also, they did play Tornado of Souls, Wake Up Dead, and In My Darkest Hour when I saw them haha. They also played Dread and the Fugitive Mind which is one of my favorites.
Yeah, IDK if they've gotten better, but G N'R was absolutely the worst band for starting on time. Axl would make them an hour or 2 late every show. It was ridiculous.
I was @ the Caesars Windsor show. Overall it was a great show. Biohazard was as expected, and played a Bad Religion cover which was cool because I was wearing my cross-buster shirt. Megadeth was on point instrument-wise. Dave's vocals were rough, but he was trying his hardest and not singing to tracks. The new guitar player was flawless. The second that the Kiko news hit the Internet I knew he was kicked out of the band. Mark my words: He won't be back. Also I'm not sure if it's a Canadian thing or a casino thing, but pretty much the whole audience was sitting down (except the floor). 8/10
Casino shows are weird. In 2003, day of show last minute a friend had 3 Marshall Tucker Band tickets and me and 2 buddies decided what the hell, let's go, it was like 10 minutes away. It was at the small "Bottleneck Blues Bar" inside the casino, carpeted and with fancy chandeliers and one of the worst seating arrangement/bar setups I've ever seen. And you couldn't smoke, which was still absurd for a casino in the midwest in 2003. A carpeted Blues bar with no smoky haze (not that I miss that). The show was terrible, essentially a cover band that was playing new material. At some point someone yelled "play Marshal Tucker!" I'd seen them once before as an opening act at an amphitheater summer shed tour with a few bands in 99 or so and it wasn't that bad. But this was terrible, at one point the singer wouldn't give up trying to get the dwindled crowd to do a "can't you see" chant that went on endlessly and my buddy said "screw this, he's gonna do this all night." We didn't even need to acknowledge it, somebody just had to break the ice and we stood simultaneously and left. I still feel sorry for them and feel bad being this harsh on them, it was just sad. I don't think I've ever been to a casino in the 20 years since then.
Compared to what I saw in Katowice in July, what a unique Megadeth setlist, Hook in Mouth! Still prefer the bigger hit setlist I got, but that was interesting nonetheless. Agree with opinion regarding Dirk, he really is bringning that positive energy
i only know A few Biohazard songs from the 90´s, Seen Megadeth twice in Denmark played same venue 1 time it was winter and blizzard 2nd time summer both were indoor though
While it is unfortunate there was no space to mosh near the front rows, I loved having a place to sit between sets. When I left after the show I could still feel my legs!
Just saw them at aftershock…. I can’t speak French or RUclips gets mad so I’ll just say they sound like their 04 remasters, Taimo (probably killed the spelling) was amazing.. I had the slightest hope Marty would walk out for some reason😂😂 but I was ~3/4 person off rail in pit the whole show, constant surfers, friend got his hat kicked off😂 I eventually become secret service protection for a squad of gals on my right lol, but besides the avg pit stuff top 3 groups I’ve seen live period
I saw them last when they had Chris, junior, and Sean at the hard rock in Orlando and I was standing in front of the side Chris was on while a mosh was right a few feet away
Waking up with Mike reviewing a concert! YEAH!!!😀In my Darkest Hour is my favorite Megadeth song for sure! But not the Remastered with Acoustic intro YUK!!! The original is much more powerful and dark. I'd love to have seen Metallica on a regular stage like this!
I saw Megadeth and Motorhead on the Gigantour. I can not remember the year. I remember Shawn Drover was the drummer and Elefson on bass. But honestly I feel awful I can not remember who was the guitarist, Chris Broderick? I am so sorry to whomever he was, they were excellent and the guitarist was awesome. I'm kind of convincing myself it was Chris. Lol. And Motorhead was insane!! That was a night. Was that Lacuna Coil and Volbeat as well?? I think. A lot of marijuana consumed. Oh and on Elefson, I would be mourning his departure as well. I'll never forget that intro to "Trust" live that night in Edmonton.
I went to go see megadeth in Oklahoma city and it was outside and it rained the whole time through the openers and when megadeth being the headliner the power went out for 10 blocks so they never played. We never got our money back. It was a sucky day that was highly disappointing.
Ngl this kinda sucks to see that it’s forced seating. You’d never see this in Europe. I feel like the energy is different and makes the performance feel like a movie theater or comedy show instead
Is it considered “sad” to have a big band play at a casino? Im curious. It seems to be quite a loss playing to a “small” group. I hear of older, popular groups playing Mystic and it feels…wrong.
Sounds like the has been Hall of Fame neither band is done anything memorable in recent memory except change members of the Megadeth lineup on a regular basis
I was at this, it was a ton of fun to see biohazard for the first time. I got to touch Bobby’s guitar when he invited everyone up front, and I got James Lomenzos pick at the end!! Sucked that it was in a seated venue though.
i went to the conecert after you and got a pick also lol
No way! I caught James pick when I saw them last May!
These concert reviews are so fun to watch, please keep it up!

I think I'd actually go see this version of megadeth!
Nice to see tube amps and cabs on stage. Makes my heart melt.
Man, that Biohazard drummer SMASHES that kit. Hard hitter
I can confirm this. Saw the show in Fargo.
The last time I saw Megadeth was 1988! They've put out a ton of great music since then!
I saw Kiko as a solo act in Brazil years ago.... it was amazing...kind of like Steven Vai or Gary Hoey...just pure shred, nary a vocalist in sight.
I got to see Biohazard for the first time with Megadeth in Indiana a couple weekends ago and they’re a badass band.

Damn, you live in Australia or something? ;)
Dude! That megadeth korn show I was at too! I forgot FF was there
If any of y'all are unfamiliar with Teemu's other projects Wintersun and Smackbound. They are awesome!

Saw them a week earlier 9-23. Outdoor show that also featured Jigsaw Youth,& Unearthed. Megadeth slayed. 15 songs I believe.
The art on your Megadeth-shirt must be by Mark Riddick. I’ve had the honour to work with him on two albums and a shirt myself (three different bands)❤
My band opened up for BillyBio few years back. Dude is awesome! Treated us like a big band which was cool.
I was up front moshing at this show!! Such a great performance from biohazard. First time v seeing them and it was perfect
I was a few rows back but I was able to get one of Dave’s picks after Holy Wars, I also had a chance to meet you too, great concert review btw
The V.I.P. shirts' back was taken from CHEVY CHASE on SNL. he used to do the Weekend Update news sketch & it would ALWAYS start : "I'm CHEVY CHASE & you're Not".
To play strings while jumping up and down is quite the feat. Like singing and running around. Crazy stuff! Mad respect to the men in Biohazard
My first stage dive was at D.R.I. in 1988. Apocalypse Club.
I saw Megadeth in Window Rock, AZ and they played in a rodeo. They had the grand stands and they had the actual rodeo grounds open. I got put on my ass in the mosh pit during Holy Wars and it was 13/10 concert.
4:35 saw Mammoth open for Alter Bridge back in February in Silver Spring, Maryland with the same issue. Guitars were down in the mix.
A Tout Le Slots
Holy Wars... The Payout Due
Tornado of Slots
Wake Up Broke
OK, I'll see myself out
Hi, saw them in Grantville. They were amazing. Also, they did play Tornado of Souls, Wake Up Dead, and In My Darkest Hour when I saw them haha. They also played Dread and the Fugitive Mind which is one of my favorites.
I saw them in Plymouth Indiana a couple weeks back they were great. I just wish the venue was better.
I was there with my daughter in the section across from you. Also, I was friends with Cory's brother Nate when we were teens!
Great insight, enjoyed it a lot!
Why did they play such a weird and small venue?
When I left after the show I could still feel my legs!
great review MIke, and I love that guitar! it's so 80s
I think the takeaway here is you own a carvin v220. In the 80s I wanted one of those so bad.
I've seen them live in a medium size theatre but there were no seats on the front stage
I never heard they had Casinos at Minnesota. Enjoy.
I was there and our reviews are the same. Great time said the same thing about the lack of those 3 songs right afterward haha
Glenn Drover. I met him and Dave as they came in.
I went to go see megadeth in Oklahoma city and it was outside and it rained the whole time through the openers and when megadeth being the headliner the power went out for 10 blocks so they never played. We never got our money back. It was a sucky day that was highly disappointing.
Two tickets? To paradise? ..
Pack your bags!
Ngl this kinda sucks to see that it’s forced seating. You’d never see this in Europe. I feel like the energy is different and makes the performance feel like a movie theater or comedy show instead
I was at 311. Would have been nice to meet ya but I was 5th row for that.
Is it considered “sad” to have a big band play at a casino?
Im curious. It seems to be quite a loss playing to a “small” group.
I hear of older, popular groups playing Mystic and it feels…wrong.
Prior Lake!? I used to live in Shakopee.
The only question I have is
Did the merchant demand a tip???
Nice guitar, the kid in Hammerhedd has the same one.
Whats cool is that you may still get to see Kiko in the future and if so.. then you get to say you saw both Teemu and Kiko which isnt bad!
I grew up loving that carvin guitar!
We have the same shirt, i got that one when i saw them in dallas last year
Sounds like the has been Hall of Fame neither band is done anything memorable in recent memory except change members of the Megadeth lineup on a regular basis
That Shirt is freakin' awesome!
I laughed really hard when he said marty friedman was peeing next to me
I wish they played more newer songs.
Amazing
THEY PLAYED MECHANIX???? I was gonna go to the show but was scared it was gonna be the same show I saw 2 years ago…
Great review. But you cannot give it 8.7 if they didnt play wake up ded, tornado and in my darkest hour??
That Carvin V220 is cool.
I need to remember that...all these people recognized me from my channel when I do video vlogs lol
$40 shirts... Ouch!
311 shows are always a good time!
Bro that guitar is sick🔥🤘
Can't wait for the 311review
Casinos and metal ya i know what you mean. I saw Megadeth at casino ramma about 1.5hr north of Toronto. The sound was amazing the energy not so much.
Biohazard smoked Megadeth in CT.
Angry again is a kick ass riff
