I'm currently visiting the east coast for work and i miss my bike. watching your vlogs make me feel like i'm riding. thanks for sharing your experience and storytelling
Even IF 100% of electricity in the USA (or the world) were powered by coal, it would still be at least twice more efficient then gasoline ICE (including charging and operating power losses for your EV). And emission from power plants are still much better than vehicles, as they are filtered with industrial grade equipment, which doesn't need to quickly clear an ignition chamber thousands of times per minute, and doesn't need to be limited in size and weight. And even in that case, the pollutant are not released in city centres, improving air quality for inhabitants.
TFLEV Made a really great video a while ago comparing and EV Mini Cooper with a Gas Mini in -24c weather. They left both cars out in the cold idling for several hours with the heat and seat warmers on to see which one was more efficient in the extreme cold and to debunk the fear some people have of being stuck in the cold in an EV. After something like 4 hours the electric Mini used 3 kWh of energy and the gas powered Mini used 16.5 kWh of fuel. The EV in this case was 5.6 times more energy efficient! Power stations are way more efficient at creating energy than cars are so even if all of the electricity was created with fossil fuels we would still be way better off using the EV.
Interesting comparison. Even though there are plenty of examples of EVs having an advantage over ICE, people will still have their minds already made up
I’m on vacation in phoenix and catching up on BM vlogs. Loved the video content. I took your advice from the other video about getting a charge point card and it should be in the mail. Keep on keep on… 🙏🏍️🔋
The energy source for EV charging almost doesn't matter because EVs are 3-4X more efficient than ICEs. Even if you're running off fossil fuels, you're still using less fossil energy than an ICE. Plus, as you said, the grid isn't 100% fossil anymore anyway. Yes, the haters are ignorant and trying to justify their own ignorance. Ride on!
@@AdventuresonZero I rented a HD LiveWire One while in Florida and had a nice day or two of riding with Bill from @EVRider . I'll be riding my Zero to Electrics at the Dragon and coming through your area 4/16 (Staunton, VA to Evington, VA) and 4/17 (Evington to Boone NC). At least that's the current plan.

Pretty interesting, hadn’t considered how much cleaner those plants are now compared to a few decades ago

To the coal powered FUD spreaders, I say turn of your lights at home, when it's that terrible to use 😊
As they type their comments using a lithium powered cell phone 😂

Good to know! I didn't know that! When is your LiveWire trip?
