There is one vault that accidentally became a control vault. Vault 81 where the overseer basically gave the middle finger to vault tec and refused to perform the experiments
The same for another vault which used children as test subject and kicked them out to force them survived themself. The Overseer mutinied against Vault-Tec after the door sealed. She singlehandlely raised those child and sent bots outside for scouting instead. That vault later became one Vault city.
Im glad to hear, from both of your replies, that at least some humanity survived this dystopian future. I find it rather hard to believe that this comical version of reality would ever happen. And more than that, it was quite depressing to hear that this is the world of _Fallout._ 😢
@@ICU1337 That's science fiction, baby. It doesn't have to be believable, just enjoy it.
Technically, all of Las Vegas was left intact; the problem was the Fallout produced by Nuclear detonations inside the Mojave at Cottonwood Cove and from outside.
The Fallout, in combination with the societal chaos of the survivors of the Great War in Vegas, is what damaged the city.
I think House didn't shoot down all the missiles because he couldnt upgarde his Operating system without the platnium chip
@@nathanmc6848House himself said that. If the Platinum Chip came early or The Great War happened a little later, Vegas and the Mojave Desert would be the only area unmarred by nuclear weapons.
Ghouls can be divided into categories based on their creation:
The first and biggest category are Nominal Ghouls created by a Dormant Gene by high levels of Ionizing Radiation
The second category is Lovecraftian Ghouls, which are biologically the same as nominal ghouls, except they are made ghouls via Eldritch influences.
The third and rarest category is FEV “Ghouls,” which are technically not Ghouls but are incredibly similar to Ghouls. They are a type of FEV spawn, like Snallygasters, Headless Behemoths, Super Mutants, Floaters, Super Mutant Canines, and Psykers. Notable examples of FEV Ghouls are Harold and a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse who was from Vault 13 in the search for the Water Chip before the Vault Dweller was sent after them.
Did you know that certain flora at ground zero in Hiroshima has mutated into a species that would not otherwise exist had not been for the fact that the city was nuked? The same applies to certain fauna found in the Chornobyl wasteland.
There is also a fourth, through ingestion of experemntal drugs, like Hancock and Thadtheus.
Please define "Eldritch influences".
@@fiddlebender88 Yog Quolthoth and the Krevbhekniv are but two
@@InquisitorXarius Okay, thanks. I wasn't aware of this Lovecraftian influence in FO3, since I haven't played it. My knowledge is based on the originals and New Vegas.
I'm guessing the Brotherhood will bet its own video but IMO they should have been mentioned. For those who don't know, the Brotherhood started out as the military unit guarding the Mariposa base, who launched a mutiny against the government 3 days before the Great War after they found out about the experiments going on in the base.
Not just a mutiny, they executed the FEV scientists one after another, and left the area with their families. It also came as a total shock that there was no reply to their mutiny, suggesting they had no idea of what was happening at that time.
Why should they be mentioned? The brotherhood was never supposed to be a major player in the scene, they only became so because Todd thought they looked cool. And even then, they're supposed to be almost extinct in the west coast by now.
@@Numbers_iwnlI wish Bethesda put more thought into their writing
First, rhe visuals are amazing. Second, the speed of telease is also great. And lastly, please keep doing more!!
More on the way!
@@WizardsandWarriorsis the mongol series coming to a finale soon?
Agreed!
@@WizardsandWarriorsthere was a mongol alternate history series episode released today and it became private depsite all of us waiting for it. What happened?
Fav part in any Fallout game is discovering the old vaults, and the messed up and twisted things they decided they decided to enact to study.
Because screw humanity, we need to see some mad science!
Sounds like you'd be a great addition to Boeing's executive branch! 😊
Ave, True to Caesar. Would love to see the NCR-Legion War from New Vegas elaborated.
I don’t think Vault 76 is actually a control vault. They said that, yes, but the vault was exclusively stocked with highly accomplished people. That’s not something you’d do if it was a true experimental control. I think it was actually an experiment to see what would happen if you preserved some of the nation’s best and brightest then gave them the explicit goal of reclaiming the outside world once safe (all the actual control vaults were told they could open but not given explicit Reclamation Day goals).
Wasn't that the proposed purpose of the vaults? Save highly effective people and have them reclaim the wasteland? The one thing that is strange vault 76 did not seem to have a G.E.C.K.
Also all member of the vault be kicked out to face against glitched terrain, T-pose mobs, Westek plastic bag, mold helmet and 60 USD plastic Nuka Cola Dark.
@@CraigSteinhoff No the advertised purpose was to save people in general, not specifically highly achieving people. Only Vault 76 seems to promote that aspect.
76 was to provide the population of America's best and brightest. It was still a control vault.
@@bizbe4465 the fact that it isn’t random population inherently makes it not a control group. Also, the Overseer was given instruction to abandon normal Vault Overseer instructions and to instead seek to reclaim nuclear silos for Vault-Tec. Again, that makes it not a control. It is fundamentally altered from the baseline.
This channel is underrated
I literally just got into the Fallout universe a few weeks ago so this was a real treat for me
This is a brilliant video. It's funny, I've played most of the fallout games, including F1 and F2, and yet I needed these videos to recap my memory of events.
Vault 69's guy is the luckiest guy alive
As long as the showers work 😂
having too much of a good things tend to becomes detrimental to his mental and physical state
@@metalhigh0043 lmao
Imagine if he couldn't get to the Vault.
You know what else is detrimental to a person’s physical and mental state? Nuclear War.
I’d say live it up in the post apocalypse if that’s how I got to go. 😝
how blessed are the ones who not only get to go into a vault but also one that is only a control one sparred from the experiments
2 fallout videos in 3 days! This man is on a roll!!
Excellent video 👍
Troubling reality aside, I do very much enjoy figuring out what wacky shenanigans were going on when stumbling upon new vaults.
Thanks for the rad video!
Minor correction: Vault 13 was not a control vault. The experiment in Vault 13’s case was for the population to remain in the vault for 200 years, rather than the standard 25. This didn’t happen because of the untimely malfunction of the water chip.
Only 25 years?
Vault 13 is way too far south on that map for Mt. Whitney. It would be closer to Vault 12.
Great Content. Great art. Love your channels
Awesome! A Fallout version?!
Thanks! I'm definitely following _this_ series!
The map at 6:38 has some pretty inaccurate locations for Vault 101 and 111 at least, the others might be wrong too. 101 is marked as West Virginia it looks like, and Vault 111 is in Maine.
In lore 101 and 111 must closed together. 101 at Washington DC and 111 at Boston. As seen in FO4 many characters from Fallout 3 now appeared at Boston, we also see Railroad and The Institute in Fallout 3. Those proved that those vaults are close together to the point that people in one can travelled to another in days.
76 is pretty accurate too
Very timely! Great video - so weird to hear this wildly fictional universe spoken with the same voice as the historical and real-time videos. Makes it seem more real somehow!
i will marry the person who decide to cover this topic in this channel
6:33 Vault 13 and d15 are located closely next to each other. Vault 12 however is suffled its position with V13 and 15. (In Fallout 1. Vault 13 (where the game begins) located further north and not south.
This is my favorite youtube channel!
Vault 69 was nice
Nice
It would be nice for sure, ngl.
man, the description of the setup during the first 1.5 minutes is honestly surreal in how close to reality it almost is
You should do one on the NCR vs BoS and NCR vs Legion
One of the biggest 'plot holes' (pardon the phrase) in Fallout lore is: Who is the Vault Data for? Who is the customer? Why build vaults to stress and test 1000 people each in a post-apocalyptic world? If anyone has a theory about this, I'd love to read it.
Aliens
The vault data was for the Enclave
It’s the Enclave preparing to colonize another planet. Think Tim Cain, the original creator has a YT video on it.
Isnt it kinda suggested in Nuka World dlc for Fallout 4 that its for Space Exploration? Like, the Vault Tec exhibit in Nuka World is centred around that, woth similar tech and architecture to the vaults
This question is answered. It's for the enclave.
Oh boi I absolutely love your content
Wow that was quick!!
Vault Tec was not government owned, it was a defense contractor. It was government funded.
Sometimes I think the son of the Keller family had the right idea when he decided that trying to survive the post apocalypse wasn't worth it. It must have been a time of incredible violence
awesome video and explanation my friend, but dont forget another settlement need our help, here ill mark it on your map
i want to make a playlist with these videos and the Kings and Generals videos to see if I can get a War of the Worlds reaction out of anyone.
Fallout and First Law!!! Keep it up, you're killing it!
still remembered in the first of fallout series (fallout tactic: brotherhood of steel) which entire squad equipping power armor + gatling/pancor jackhammers on humvee driving through entire map for random encounters.. nothing can get even close to the jeep before getting shredded to pieces
that is the third game the first one was just called fallout
6:30 that poor man…
Great video!
Great🔥
Quick note on the 'hundreds of billions' in vault costs. Due to hyperinflation it is in todays money probably 'just' in the billions.
War never changes...
its crazy how the vaults were used to preserve populations as well as conduct horrendous experiments
War... war never changes...
War... War has changed...
The Great War: *happened*
Soviet Union: *(perhaps) chilling?*
Correction: chiling in their massive oil reservoirs at Siberia and Far East (est about hundreds of years for those already be scanned, and still a tons of them still lwft intqct due to extreme hostile environment)
Great video; I'm really looking forward to the supercut of this one :)
Have y'all ever considered doing a collaboration with Templin Institute? I think that y'all could break the fandom corner of the internet with that one.
Do Bioshock next
Does anyone know where in the games i can find the info that the chinese knew about FEV and told the US to stop developing it?
love these
vault 69 is by far the best :)
Yes this is great do as much of this as possible please lol then make it into one long ass video then I will watch it every night for a few weeks straight lmao
I dunno but humans being reduced to primitive creatures in less then 2 hours is scary
Wow 🤯

Being the only guy in the Amazon? Yea, all the lesbians would kill you by the end of the week🙄 Terrible concept honestly🚮 Some beta male virgin thought that concept up without thinking it all the way through 😂🤦🏽♂
This the kings and generals guy ?
Vault 76 wasn't actually a control vault its mission was to claim the nuclear silos for Vault-Tec I believe
It was a control vault. But the overseer was allowed certain privileges compared to other vaults. As they could essentially turn the vault into an authoritarian state. Because the inhabitants of the vault were the best and brightest of America. They were necessary for the rebuilding of America.
True
I think 122000 persons are 0.1 not 0.01%, unless the population of the USA in Fallout is 1.2 billion strong.
122000 x 10 = 1.2 million. 122000 x 100 = 12 million
So you're both wrong lol
didn't know fev was the reason for ghouls
It's not. High levels of radiation create ghouls. This has been confirmed by writers multiple times. The story also confirms in in multiple ways.
WOW!
Can’t wait till you guys get to Caesar’s Legion! 😁
Is this not sponcored by the amazone prime show?
But war does change, all the time.
6:38 Who the hell thought Vault 101 and DC are in southern Ohio?!
Best part of Fallout:
Only one freakin' Dakota
Vault 69 - NICE!
🙂👍
Watching this while enjoying a Nuka Cola
When resources ran dry and Europe and the Middle East where destroyed by there own war (europe when to war with the middle eastern nations in response to rising oil prices due to scarcity which led to a nuclear attack in Israel, this war ultimately ended with no winners as oil ran dry and they just stopped fighting. Europe dissolved the EC (European commonwealth which was the fallout version of the EU) and European nations wages war on each other fighting for the scraps. On the other side of the planet seeing the oil shortages and the coming issues that brings the US went heavily into alternative energy sources ultimately developing fusion power with which they hopped to end oil dependence. The Chinese where far behind the US tech wise and they were so dependent on oil that when relations broke down after the US isolated it’s self the Chinese images alaska with the hope of stealing the last remaking oil on the planet. This was lasted 11 years and saw fighting in anchorage, Canada, and even mainland China. Ultimately the Chinese were losing after the US invasion of mainland China with there Power Amor. Pushed to the brink the Chinese launched the missiles and the rest is history.
Meanwhile USSR sit on their giant oil and gas at Siberia and Far East, eat popcorn and drink Vodka to watch every superpowers self-destruct
one thing i never got was why a goverment trying to survive would they allow so many vaults to be used as test labs it seems so moronic even the enclave should have known better
So many fallout but can't get a new Wheel of Time?
I enjoy the fallout shelter game diagram for the vaults
Where can I find vault 69?
From the style of naming, looks like it mostly located near Vault 76 and with Vault 68 nearby. My theory is that they tricked 1000 couples separated to different tunnels with promised of see rhe others again. However later both site separated and they made each one believed those located on the other be dead by a direct hit of nuclear warhead.
Yess!!!
Shall we dive once more into Fallout?
as a Brazilian i wonder what happened to south America
one thing i take issue with is that the video makes it seem like the Chinese were the first ones to start the war. this is left intentionally vege in the lore because it doesn't matter who launched first what matters is that everyone lost. war is never a good answer when nukes are involved and will always lead to worst outcomes for everyone in that aspect war never changes. no matter how many sinarios you run the war will always be the same. total nuclear annelation
It makes sense, though. China is Maoist in this timeline, and it stays that way. Just how North Korea is very secretive about anything that actually goes on in the country. We already know what North Korea's endgame is in a continuation of the Korean war.
No 76 and now the TV show confirm it was vault tech that launched the nukes first.
@@bizbe4465 I don't care what Bethesda says it dosnt matter it goes against the original games

Just imagine fallout:Japan. 😮💨 The potential.
Fallout is distinctly American. Setting it anywhere else would cheapen the experience
@@archdornan8349 I hear you. But I disagree. There is a reason the MOD "Fallout: London" is extremely popular. I understand that fallout is inherently "American" but the lore could use some fleshing out. Idk about you but I'd like to know how the rest of the world of fallout made it after the great war.
@rusty_shackleford2226 i respect the opinion, its just not my cup of tea.
@@archdornan8349 now of I had to choose an American location I think it's time for a game set in Texas or New Orleans
This channel has better understanding of the story than the tv show
The show was allowed to make its own story. Get over it. All fallout stories conflict with eachother.
@@bizbe4465 oh one of the "you're not allowed to criticise my precious show" gang. guess what the story was bad character development was bad most of the plot points bad world building bad. get over it.

You can dislike a show sure. But to just complain as if the show did something is stupid. The show is doing what all other fallout games do. Create conflicting information.

Why do i get this feeling we're heading towards a similar timeline irl?
Synonymous, N_orte and Rad King: "Look like we got some competition, boy!".
Vault 69..noice
Moooooooooore
NAH, THAT VAULT 69 MAN WAS LUCKY 🤣
Why is Vault 101 pointing to a spot in Ohio and 111 a spot in Maine?
Vault 13 wasn't a control vault and you also put it and Vault 15 at the wrong place on the map. Vault 13's experiment was to see the effects of 200 years of isolation, it should have opened in 2277 instead of 2161, it's just as we know their only waterchip was malfunctioning for decades until it finally broke in 2161 and they had to send someone out to find a replacement
