The drivers aren't ready yet. The pi foundation released the white pages but they never release the drivers as open source so they have to be made by hand for legal reasons.
Could you explain more?
@@danielpicassomunoz2752 the rights to the original code belong to the programmer who wrote them. it's why nvidia cant just release source code to their drivers but released the nvk white sheets for example, as did AMD. Same goes for the raspberry pi. They license the hardware from the ARM foundation, they license certain chips, then release white pages which is all the specs and hardware info a driver programmer would use to make drivers and codecs. All that stuff is closed source legally and a foss one needs to be developed for foss OSes to be able to just roll them into the kernel for release. The pi foundation doesn't actually write the drivers themselves for the hardware. They will license closed source drivers for the raspberry pi OS to have a functional product on release. Then as time goes on foss devs who are hard at work as I type this, develop open source drivers for the rest of the Linux distros to use and BSD ones etc. Android and ChromeOS are based on the Linux kernel.
I just installed Armbian XFCE, its working very well, there are other flavours to (Cinnamon, Gnome).
I tried Cinnamon briefly. It seemed decent
BTW Desalvo Galactic Case for Rpi5 is avaliable.
It looks great 👍🏻
Can Chrome OS run android apps now too?
Yes on many devices
@@leepspvideo Cool, maybe I can get one to run those old 32 bit android games that were delisted from the play store 10 years ago
Maybe if you can find the APK file@@jierenzheng7670
Nice video 😅
Its always fun to see different operating systems run on the Pi.
These new Pi 5's are really nice, the NVME drive makes them seriously quick. The latest version of PI OS, with VNC is really good. Impressed, these devices are excellent.
Agreed. As I expected a performance increase. A little less that the pi3 to pi4. Or around that. I have to say I’m impressed. I think the jump in performance is much more significant.
Infelizmente meu casa Os nao funciona direito, apos a instalação ele gera um IP 100... não consigo acessar a partir de outra maquina. Me ajuda?
Olá. Tem um video tutorial ensinando a instalar outro sistema operacional compativel com tela touchsreem no meu RP Pi 5? Grato.
Is there google assistant on this unlike original and pure fyde & can we run it with all computers as with og fyde

please stop with promoting fyde they are both scams
I install openfyde, byt system took 99% of space. No matter if I use 32 GB or 128 GB. Anyone know why? I cant start linux terminal

It would be nice if just one weeks 70,000 production qty made its was way to Australia so we didn't have to buy them in kit form (if you could get one of the few of them even) with accessories we don't need at highly increased prices. 70,000 units would stock every Pi retailer down here and we would then be able to buy as individual boards just the like Pi4, without all the extra bits you don;t need.
Keep up the good work though 😃
Yep and the kit doesn't have the new PS yet. I can wait a few more months. Bookworm on Pi400 is okish.
Any update on OpenFyde on Raspberry Pi 5? Does it now support the Playstore?
I think it’s only with Fydeos
can it run any Android app?
If so, could it be used as a tv box since google tv and adroid don't run all that well on the Pi?
Not any, but many Android Apps work.
See this about using a Pi as a TV streamer
Can this replace your TV streamer? Android 13 TV Raspberry Pi 5.

🎄🎄🎄Merry Christmas... Everyone 🎄🎄🎄
ChromeOS is the best operating system Ive used in a long time. Its so fast, yet simple to use. I use Linux to code, and audio editing. And the Android part, I run Cubasis music software and games. My Chromebook with a i3-1215U cpu is actually faster than my desktop Ryzen 5600x computer using the Chrome browser.
ChromeOS turns the device it is running on into a surveillance device for Google. It is more privacy hating than that bloated Windows rubbish. Avoid.
@@terrydaktyllus1320 But ChromeOS is way more secure than Windows. Worst part with Win11 is that you now have the AI thing going thru all your files, aswell as it wants you to upload all your files on their onedrive.... I think Windows actually is worse. But I have some pure linux devices also, but even in linux you have to check what dists nowdays sends data. But for daily drive its the ChromeOS!.
@@AndrewTSq "But ChromeOS is way more secure than Windows."
And that's why people need to understand the difference between "security" and "privacy". In simple terms, "security" is "stopping the bad stuff coming in" whereas "privacy" is "keeping the important stuff from leaking out".
There are five big corporations that don't like you keeping your data private from them - Google, Apple, Faecesbook, Microsot and Amazon.
And with open fyde you can just choose to have a local account and not connected to any Google thing and just have the web browser
@@TakeAchance365 Yes, absolutely, but do try to keep up and pay attention because the OP was talking specifically about ChromeOS and I responded about ChromeOS.
And not using a Google account on ChromeOS or Google Android makes no difference to whether or not Google are tracking you 24x7 - if you believe that then more fool you.
I put FydeOS on a laptop with a 1240P just because I'd only run ChromeOS on low end hardware. I did it for a lark, now I'm not sure I need anything else. With the Linux apps and Android apps.
And is it possible to use an external SSD/HD for one or more of the directories in the artifical linux partitition? I hope there will be an AndroidTV version too, because now you have to pay for some of the AndroidTV versions of free linux software
leepspvideo can you help me, on the relese of fyde os raspberry pi 5 it dosent led me install linux but android works completly fine how do i fix linux.
it shows could not download the virtual machine (VM)
Check your storage you may need to expand the partition. Have you got enough space?
@@leepspvideo I have 256 gb and I used gparted to expand the partition
Usually in settings if you type Linux it gives you an option to enable it, then it lets you pick a size of partition. I usually pick 16gb or more @@cheze_bun

Hi Love the videos!
I have a Pi 3+ and found some things hav changed so i have a Just a couple of questions about the new pi 5 :
Will the Official Raspberry Pi ( pi 4 ) Micro-HDMI to HDMI Adapter Cable also work with the Pi 5
And does Flirc USB ( Remote work with the Pi 5 )
Thank you
David Parr
Pi 4 micro hdmi is the same on Pi 4 and 5. I don’t have any Flirc products
I have two questions, can someone tell me what the diffference is between FydeOS and OpenFyde? And, can you please make an Orange Pi 5 Plus Andriod install?
I can't figure out how because its not working and no one has a video for the Orange Pi 5 Plus
OpenFyde is just what FydeOS is based off of.
New Linux user here. Love the videos! Is there any chance you know how to enable Ethernet over USB-C on the RPI5? I've wanted to utilize that to have a wired connection for VNC Viewer on my iPad, so my RPI can become a min gadget for it. All the guides I've seen are for the RPI4 and they haven't worked the way I thought... might be user error since I'm new to Linux haha... Anyways, appreciate the videos!
I don’t think it’s enabled yet
@@leepspvideo thank you for the speedy response 🫡
Sir, I need some help from you. When I use internet from mobile to laptop, the internet gets exhausted very quickly and I even turn off the settings from below, update and background, despite that. Also the internet gets exhausted very fast, please suggest some solution for this, I have a close window.
I don’t understand the comment can you say it differently
The infamous flickering cursor.
I found out yesterday about it. I wish I had a pi 5
How did you get openFyde to work? I've tried reflashing a USB drive many times, every time it seems to get into a crash loop when showing the account setup page (Where it asks to select guest/local/fydeos/google account). That page keeps on crashing and reloading for me and never got past it 😕.
Maybe I will try with a SD card and see, I didn't want to clean my current one which has pi os all set up.
I didn’t have any problems
I found the issue. It seems to be something with screen resolution. I had my monitor with default resolution 1024x768, and it kept on crashing on the setup page. I connected to a 1080p one and it went smoothly. So the os needs some bug fixing and some optimisations, but other than that it looks awesome.
I’ve been waiting for this to be available along with the raspberry pi five question, open fyde like recognizes a SSD so if I wanted the boot from SSD stick instead of a micro SD card could I use it as storage?
Yes should be fine as long as it’s formatted in a compatible file format
@@leepspvideo okay thanks I love your videos by the way I’m super into technology and learn a lot from this channel to among others

Leep Gamepad lack of support on FydeOS is well known and they recognize that they cant make it work.
So android and linux are sub systems of which the ports of ChromiumOS wont recognize gamepad control.
It does work on ChromiumOS system aka Chromium Browser.
Also keep an Eye on Fyde page cause they are releasing the oficial FydeOS version soon for RPI 5. Probably wont change much as it uses Android 9 and has open gApps.
You are my favourite Channel ❤

Nah!
Doesn't count, doesn't exist in the wild.
You 'influencers' received yours,
we poor sods who actually PAID for them,
are still waiting for the bloody things - a year later.
Shipping in January?
My ARSE!
😂😂😂 There are reasons for that.. One of them is the lack of mainline for the rockchip 3588 therefore Fyde might be trying to ship a more secure product other than a problematic one.
@@darkevilpt5306 Those who are still waiting, are pretty fed up with 'reasons' - of which there appear to have been any number.
