I think this is my favorite of your videos! Where I live is so cold right now, and the bike paths are covered in ice. It is so nice to be able to watch this and imagine myself biking somewhere warm and beautiful.
Thanks! I wouldn't say it was warm, but I guess compared to other places, it certainly was :D It's nice to have feedback from people living far away. Riding every day we tend to focus on the negatives (crazy drivers, lack of safe infrastructure, cars parked everywhere and especially on bike lanes...) and forget the beauty around us.
@@urbandreamist My very short bike ride yesterday was 4° F (-15° C)! Have you seen bicycle infrastructure and cycling as a practical form of transportation becoming better in Paris in the past year? I've been reading great things about Anne Hidalgo and Christophe Najdovski making it safer and easier to bike there.
Yes the changes in Paris are massive and cycling is quickly being accepted as a proper mode of transport, not just a hobby for Sundays. There is a lot of noise from opposition parties but cycle-friendly policies are very popular. And now I understand what you meant. It really is warm in Paris after all!
Tremendous video. I really enjoy the unedited, natural style of the video and the chest mounted viewpoint. I also appreciate how you add the street names as you go. Out of interest, what sort of video equipment are you using?
Thanks Mark! I use a GoPro 8 and a Tascam DR-05X for audio, with a "dead cat" to limit wind noise. There is just one thing I dislike with the Tascam: it is too sensitive to radio interference, you can hear it sometimes in my latest video. And I always forget to put my phone in airplane mode...
You have a very selective memory I stopped at: 7:09 8:02 12:04 13:41 15:15 9:00 9:24 9:38 I didn't stop because the light had a sign below (triangle pointing down) that allows cyclists to pass on red if there is no traffic (notice how I stopped to let the car pass at 9:38). This is like a yield sign only for cyclists that supersedes the light. I did ran a couple or red lights at the end of the video near the Louvre though. Thanks for making me look at that video again, good memories :D
Maybe his legs aren't so powerful, so by shifting gears all the time, he is maximizing his strength. I am a low powered cyclist too, so I use a Rohloff hub. I always ride in my optimal gear.
I recently discovered your channel. Your videos have made indoor (stationary) biking a lot less boring. Keep them coming!

Love your videos. I stayed in Montmartre when I visited Paris in 2017. This brings back great memories. Thank you for sharing!

You almost have a Dutch way of cycling, neglecting red traffic lights 😂
You have a very selective memory
I stopped at:
7:09
8:02
12:04
13:41
15:15
9:00 9:24 9:38 I didn't stop because the light had a sign below (triangle pointing down) that allows cyclists to pass on red if there is no traffic (notice how I stopped to let the car pass at 9:38). This is like a yield sign only for cyclists that supersedes the light.

This lockdown feel...
How do keep tracking the street names

I don't know why you changing gears so much when you are on a flat road in the city. You don't need to change so much.
