Hi everyone, I'm sorry about the sound in this video. The sound gods were not kind to me that day! I have since purchased new equipment. With any of these videos, always take what works for you and leave anything that doesn't. Let me know what is your favourite. I think I see myself as the country lady in tweed haha!
My favorite trend is the tweed country side walking your cocker spaniel look! Although I have a Jack Russell…work with what you have 😉 My least favorite trend is the bag charms, it’s a no for me..
I agree about the charms. Looks childish and tacky, IMO. One of my favourite RUclipsrs just posted a short, where she draped necklaces and bracelets and charms all over her Margeaux. 🤮
@dehaan714 I am inclined to agree with you on this. I put the bag charms in but like I said I was in two minds as they seem a bit of a waste to me. I love the tweed too. ThoughI only have a cat and I don't think he would appreciate me taking him for a walk!!
Florals look so pretty, but I’ve never been keen, but I WILL take your advance and just maybe add a scarf or a very small item, just to give it a go 👍
@lindawaldon9264 Maybe try it in a shop and see how it feels firstbefore making a purchase. Only pick out what feels right 😊
I have two strategies that I follow religiously:
1. I choose primary pieces (tops, jackets, pants - no dresses or skirts anymore) in neutral solid colors and add a pop of color or print using scarves or other accessories. This allows me to invest in top quality clothes and swap out trendy colors or patterns more often.
2. I only wear natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, linen, leather, suede, cashmere, wool. It can be a blend but no polyester, acetate, rayon, viscose, satin or similar type material.
@@lindadorman2869 I’m trying to get rid of the synthetic fabrics as well- who knows about chemicals treatments & our health? Do you have a favorite cotton/linen/silk brand?
@lindadorman2869 This sounds like you have this absoltely nailed! Fantastic ideas!
Love your style!❤
I watch a variety of creators, yours is the first with a variety of suggestions, with real life options and the reason behind them. So glad I found your channel.
@alisonschooley5459 Ah thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad you found it helpful. Subscribe and then you will get notified as soon as I bring out a new video.
Thankyou for your video
I wear classic casual clothes really, I liked the last one best
I tend to wear navy and black a lot as my tummy is bigger these days
Still working so I have to have comfort clothes for work as I am a mobile hairdresser
@joannagooney8342 Thank you for the feedback. I am glad you found it helpful. Ah yes you will definiely need comfort then. I love the ski jumpers too!
I have just been looking at the “shorts” where you generously give extra advice, and was appalled to see the one “a gentle reminder”. What are people thinking when they post such unkind comments. You are a stylish, beautiful woman who wants to help others. I’m very grateful for all you offer and do for us as a community.
@christineperkins7183 Thank you for your lovely comment it means a lot. Yes I get about 5-10% comments like that. I just have a cut and paste response now where repeat offenders just get reported and blocked. It is shocking what people will say whilst hiding behind their keyboards. NONE of them would say it to my face. My hair seems to cause particular distress haha!
I have a leopard print silk scarf in grey and creamy white that I pull out every fall and winter. I keep my floral prints to scarves as well. I like using prints in scarves on top of my very neutral wardrobe.
I hate tweed on me (love on others) - the bulky fabric adds weight I don’t want. Gabardine wool or wool blend fabrics are polished and don’t snag or add visual weight. Love the tailored look coming back! Oversized and cropped anything has been the bane of my existence when shopping the last few years.
I love a mildly chunky Irish fisherman knit pullover sweater (aka jumper) in a creamy off white every fall and winter - I wear mine with slim tailored black navy or grey pants. I wear soft colours in cashmere in the same way. Cashmere pullover with a silk scarf and pearl stud earrings. Might be a cliche but it works well for me.
@kamloopscruiser874 This sounds absolutely fabulous to me. I love cashmere and silk the perfect combo! I think like with anything take what works for you and ignore what doesn't 😊
I tend to dress a bit boho, but I also own a lot of tailored clothes. I dress them down, with funky shoes, t-shirts and jeans etc. My nod to tweed, will be my mens' flat cap.
My fave would be the knits, too, Michelle. Love a fairisle or fisherman's jumper.
@bernitajenkins7581 It sounds like you have a fabulous mix there! I love fairisle too.
Brilliant video!! Thank you!!
@erikachapman5808 Ah thank you for your comment I am glad you enjoyed it
I’m just adding burgundy and keeping everything simple. No to leopard no to floral Thanks 🦋
@deniseyounger6004 That is perfect take what you want from it and leave the rest 😊
Fantastic update Michelle! I now have full permission to dig out my early 2000s beaded bolero for the season 😊
@emilygalvin8404 I look forward to seeing that!
LOVING YOUR CHANNEL. GREAT WEARABLE CLOTHING

So good that you suggest to wear and combine things that we already posess- I think most of us have got a lot of our individual " basics", so that we just need a new piece sometimes... ❤
@suhat2951 Absolutely agree I think this is the best way forward.
No to leopard print for me Bet Lynch springs to mind! Might get some Mary Jane shoes in it.
Yeah. I think the trick with leopard, is to stick to accessories. I have a pair of black sandals, with just the front strap in the pattern.
@lisagriffiths1343 haha yes. It is funny what you associate it with isn't it?
Love Leopard print I wear it all the time trend or not 😊 but I only wear one item at a time and I love my leopard print coat 😊
@marilynlarose4844 That is fantastic. I love them when I see them on other people but i felt like I could never carry a coat off. When it works it really works though. I am glad you like it.
Thank you Michelle, fun & helpful. In this video, floral trend is my fave for here on the surfing coast of California. 😊 Appreciate your guidance & how you always say to make it work for us. ❤
@user-wm6qe4sz2d you are very welcome. California is a great state. I have more family there than anywhere else in the world!
This season, I am deeply regretting having donated my leopard print ballet flats a couple years ago.
@@merry3733 Me too!!
Oh no! Isn't it alway the way!
@Flumbo87 Oh no not you too. That is so annoying
Thankyou, love the content, no to leopard print for me ❤
@janeycooper940 That is absolutely fine only take from it what you like. I am glad you enjoyed it.
It must be a generation thing I could never wear leopard print but love your channel
Who helps you with your amazingly perfect wardrobe?
@hilarypearson3842 Like I said in the video I am not a fan either but I know many people are. If you do not like it ignore that bit 😊
@jerryjohnson9564 Who are you referring to?
I have 3 leopard print dresses. My colouring seems to really suit leopard print and I prefer it to floral prints. I do sometimes feel self conscious wearing it as it does draw attention, but I go for it anyway, even though I am not normally a bold dresser.
@janicerice8810 I think this is fantastic!! Go you! I am so pleased you are doing what feels right for you.
Hi Michelle , interesting , so enjoyed this
@OlderWomenRock I am glad you enjoyed it.
I’m searching for hats and scarfs and how to style for fall /winter. Hats especially…I was ill and lost my hair but it’s starting to grow back…about 6 more months. I can wear hats… I have some bangs.
@marygeer3803 Hi Mary, I would say try lots on if there is somewhere near you that you can do that. Also link it in to a another part of your outfit.
Florals? For me, only if the floral is William Morris or paisley.
@dtylice I love them both!
Love the sweater look with jeans. 👍
@ellie5901 So do I! 😊
Very interesting, as you included some trends I haven't heard mentioned! Also, this is my first time hearing the term "off piste". Is that the same thing as "apres ski"?
@rosej9686 Kind of yes. It is basically ski fashion 😊
@@rosej9686 “Off piste” refers to skiing in areas away from groomed slopes and trails. In the US, we call that *“backcountry”* skiing. While “apres ski” is literally *“after* ski,” which would be activities typical of evenings while on vacation in a ski town, like lounging in the ski lodge, or going out through the snow for dinner or drinks.
As a backcountry skier, I would envision “off piste” inspired style as ‘winter rugged sporty’ and “apres ski” style as more ‘winter relaxed lux.’
Wait. I thought capes REPLACE the jacket... 🤔Thank you, this was fun and inspiring.
@thatswhatisaidCA I am glad you found it helpful. They can replace the jacket, but you can also wear a slim fitted one underneath them 😊
While trenchcoats and cardigans hate me, biker jackets love me. Have one in burgundy, and one with leopard print (both velvet). So that's like two trends ticked? I am 71
@mariecurie7491 Yay that is bloody brilliant! You can shop from your wardrobe!
I do not like fall colors
@paulamoors That is ok it might be that they do not suit you too. 😊
