BEAUTIFUL day CRABBING- 4/20 blue crab report

April 20th… affectionately know to many as 420, is a wonderful day to connect with nature and go catch some crabs. Enjoy the adventure!
Side note: The Water was crazy this day- boats, waves, and wind so I did my best.

When I was a kid back in Central Massachusetts (Don't hate, I got out ASAP.) Back then, I never heard of Cat Fish, but we always used to go Horn Pout fishing. The stings were also in the same places, but they wouldn't put you in the hospital.

Have you ever used catfish as bait?

I have, but I have not had the same success with catfish, in comparison to chicken or other fish. I would love to keep them as bait but I’ve always been disappointed in the catch

My Dad called the mature female underside "the capitol dome"... & it does look like it! I don't see any rebar weight on these traps..? Not needed or ?

Yeah, the females look like the Capitol building and the males look like the Washington monument lol

Thanks for watching. I am literally all over the Treasure coast. Mostly the St Lucie river. I crab in Fort Lauderdale, St Johns, volusia and bevard county, the panhandle… literally everywhere. Best success is in the St Lucie
