Epic as a fireworks grand finale on July 4th!
Thanks everyone. I'm a banjo player, and so am I.
My favorite march. I loved playing this on the trombone in band. I loved marching to it also. I played it on the Navy Corry Station Band in Pensacola, Fl. I never heard it on a banjo. I love it.

confederate version:
_unfurl the banner and raise it to the sky_
_let crosses preach from mountain high_
_the good ol watchword of our nation_
_now behold this gem of old_
_the wonder of the southern skies_
_the emblem of the brave and true_
_the flag of our liberty flag of our destiny_
_red and white and bars so blue_
_stream out the banner so high_
_every heart will sing a part_
_as all across the land we raise our voices_
_far and near for all to hear_
_the echo of a chorus band_
_every heart will swell with pride_
_to sing of our liberty sing of our destiny_
_as with joy we now extol_
_the flag waving over the land_
_let us all hail the flag in one accord_
_let us cheer it with fervid elation_
_it’s the flag of the soldiers gone before_
_it’s the flag of flags the banner of our nation_
_it’s a beacon for all who share our dream_
_of a new day without domination_
_it’s the hope of the peoples now oppressed_
_and the symbol of their nations revolution_
_hurra for the confederacy_
_may it live as our standard forever_
_the gem of the land and the sea_
_forever proud and high_
_let yankees remember the day_
_when our fathers with mighty endeavor_
_proclaimed as they marched to the fray_
_that by their might and by their right it lives forever_
_every time the people hear the bell of freedom calling (calling) one and all_
_every living patriotic citizen will have to answer (answer) freedoms call_
_everywhere the bold and gallant souls come forth to bear the cross of duty_
_rising up as one to fight and die behind the flag of freedoms beauty_
_patriotic hearts will falter never following the stars and bars forever_
_marching to the quest to east or west_
_they quell distress the freed oppressed cry out_
_hurra for the confederacy_
_may it live as our standard forever_
_the gem of the land and of the sea_
_forever proud and high_
_let yankees remember the day_
_when our fathers with the mighty endeavor_
_proclaimed as they marched to the fray (as they marched to the fray)_
_that by our might and by our right_
_it lives forever_
