I think that she didn't vote for Charlie bc she viewed Charlie as having played a lesser version of her own game. It's the only explanation I can think of that makes some sense
Basically what I got out of this video is that Maria was trying to control everything and basically used every excuse in the book of dumb excuses as to why she was in the right not just for her screwing over Charlie but also her interrogation of Ben as well.
Maria managed to hurt all the nicest people's feelings and painted them as liars when they were all telling the truth, and STILL won't admit she was wrong. It's like the anti-social game.
Honestly, I think having a season like this where everyone kinda sucks at the game and hates each other was a nice breath of fresh air. I was initially so worried about this cast cause everyone had main character syndrome but it ended up playing out way better than I expected it to
I wish they edited Maria as a villain it would have added to the season I think. But this season was by far the best of the new era I love that there's post season beef and actual conflict more of that please!
I was really impressed by Maria's challenge prowess and her gameplay and wasn't critical of some of her later decisions as people can do random stuff in the heat of the moment and being short on food/sleep... until I found out that she didn't vote for Charlie.

The real reason Maria voted Kenzie is she played an imaginary game of rock paper scissors in her head and Kenzie won. Makes about as much sense as her logic in the interviews.

Dude I remember there was nothing in tv at like 11 pm so me and my friends were just scrolling channels and we came across deal or no deal island and i screamed very loudly after seeing boston rob. we were on a school trip and a guy was coming around doing room checks when he heard me. Scared the crap out of me, my friends, and the guy.
Bhanu does not need Survivor. He needs a therapist. Genuinely. There's a difference between being emotional and emotionally unstable. Emotionally volatile, even. Kudos for authenticity, and for being a decent person, but I will never support a player with such level of immaturity.
Even after a month, my conclusion is Maria is a narcissistic villain. She couldn’t cope with someone outplaying her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ok with Kenzie winning - but Charlie had the better game. Maria is just a bitter old lady.
Are they allowed to use the kerosene fluid from the torches to start a fire? Drives me nuts when they can't get a fire started with the flint while theres like 10 canisters of gas right behind them
Something kinda funny I noticed is that the new Era tribe colors are starting to play out similarly. We have a disaster tribe whittled down to three widely different and entertaining personalities who are referred to throughout the season as the __ three who also wear purple. That’s clearly the Yanu three from survivor 46 right? Yes but that’s also the Tika 3 from survivor 44. Also the winner of those seasons both came from the purple tribe. You might be thinking that’s just a coincidence but think again. Two great strategists who form a strong alliance early on in their tribe where a lot of the seasons story 3:02 focuses on them and they pull of most of the moves in the season who eventually agree that they can target each other who wear green. I’m clearly describing Charlie and Maria from season 46. But the same applies to Shan and Ricard from survivor 41 too! It’s all starting to make sense
I might be one of the few people who disagrees with number 13 - guess I'm not normal, lol. Not because I particularly liked Bhanu - I'd probably hate to live with him - but I found him more engaging than the average Survivor player cast these days. He had a unique storyline and I found his interactions with the other castaways entertaining. It sort of felt like I was watching a pre-S33 season, which in my mind is always a positive. And I have to agree with Jeff - casting more Bhanus will lead to more interesting seasons where savvy players are forced to work with or around them, as well as more character moments (which are less likely if the castaways are all too gamebotty).
I agree with you, honestly. What annoyed me most about Bhanu was how the show handled his story -- primarily, giving him two boot episodes. But in more limited quantities, I would have found him easier to swallow.
Shoot me in the eye, but Maria was my winner pick in the beginning and I liked her throughout the season. But I'll admit, everything that is coming out about her does sour the season for me. And the more time passes, the more I feel like Charlie should have won. (Kenzie is great btw) I understand Maria's reasoning, but the lack of accountability and her being too proud to admit feeling bitter is not cute.
Can you do an analysis of Natalie Anderson? Her and Sandra were the two winners I loved back during my survivor phase a few years ago. And their seasons were the ones I fully watched.
I'm really curious as to whether or not Maria would have won had she been in the final 3 instead of Charlie. Many people think she would but I'm dubious especially as her failure to vote for Charlie suggests that she wouldn't have voted for herself either. Obviously this is pure speculation as I can't really tell but my best guess is that Kenzie gets votes from Tiffany, Venus, and probably Liz, while Maria gets votes from Charlie, Soda, probably Q and maybe Hunter. Tevin is the one I'm least sure about but I'm guessing that he votes Kenzie making it 4-4 with Ben breaking the tie in Kenzie's favour.
The reason there's such a fuss about Maria's jury vote is prejudice against older women. You all subconsciously expect her to be motherly and nurturing to Charlie. The fact that he's a young straight white male adds further subconscious bias that he is "supposed" to be the protagonist as per most movies and books. But no Kensie had super power-like social game skills. And Maria's vote aside, why didn't Charlie win the other jury votes that he didn't. He didn't need Maria's vote if he had secured one or all of the other jurors. He lost. Fair and square

She planted seeds in Charlie that would effect the game, even after her Elimination. Charlie is just a bitter 2nd place loser, and is on that level of bitterness as Russell Hantz!
