- Hello,
Here is an easy way to remove the plastic collar to get access to the 14mm locking nut. I threw this video together quickly after I installed my shift knob to give you guys an idea on how to do it. I believe everything is pretty straightforward except on how to remove the collar. If you guys want a more in depth video, let me know in the comments and I can do that. I made this video quick and short and I apologize if there are any mistakes. Good luck and have fun!

would pliers work ? instead of the 14mm wrench

You can also just grip the shit out of the knob and unscrew it
You made it difficult. You just have to twist the collar and pull down.
Most times that collar does not come down by simply pulling it
