Don't be fooled. They're still baking insane amounts of rev hang into these things. The manual transmissions in these cars have literally turned into a gimmick. A novelty. They are awful to drive and will just make you want an automatic. You have to pay an extra $1500 if you want to have anything close to the direct analog feel of any old manual car from the 90's with a flywheel replacement and an ECU reflash. And in my experience, even with the reflash it still doesn't fix the throttle mapping. You'd have to get a $1500 standalone ECU and all the headaches that comes with that just to have a car that gives a satisfying shifting experience. Had a 10th Gen Si and Type R and from watching the driving videos of these 11th gen's they have done nothing to fix it. And why would they? They don't actually care about the driving experience. They just care about ticking the manual transmission box so that they can cash in on the ignorant people that just want the novelty of a manual while also satisfying emissions requirements with all the rev hang. And idiots gobble it up because they have no idea what a car is supposed to drive like.

The only way I got this rare car is because I used to work for Honda Finance Corporate division and ordered it through the manufacturer online. Brand new, MSRP was $36,000. I leased it for a year and bought out my lease for $18,000. I have 136,000 miles on it now, never had an issue, and the vehicle has been registered in 3 states. I'm meticulous on maintenance and changing fluids. It's definitely a racer and still gets attention every time I drive it. It feels like a more power Civic SI. I'll just push it closer to 300,000 miles and wait for the price on the Integra Type S to significantly decrease.

Its such a nice car. Too bad the markups make it so expensive, compared to older sports cars. Where I live, the dealers want $75K, you can buy a nice 996 turbo for that price or a 997.2

@@PointNemo9 Honda set a price where they make money and the dealership makes money. Dealers decided that with such small stock, they could try to force consumers who want it to pay a higher price. $70k on an ILX with a body kit is an emotional decision, not a rational one. Dealers are just trying to take advantage of people, as is their nature
