All productivity gurus like you or Ali Abdal use Notion but for me it is too complicated. Taking notes or agenda should be easy and time saving but notion is not i guess. Or Am I the only one who thinks that?
Honestly, this should be your next course that you offer. This is amazing, and you're taking, what seems to be a very complex system to start using, and making it accessible to different crowd of users.
Great video, Jeff! I’d consider myself an “advanced” beginner in Notion-I finally crossed the hurdle this year from "Notion is too confusing" to "Notion is amazing!" If you’re taking requests, I’d love to see a video exploring use cases for integrating ChatGPT with Notion. That would be incredibly helpful!
Again a great video 💪🏻 A suggestion for a new Notion template could be a Travel planner with a "Places I'd like to visit" + Planning + Visited - maybe designed like a mood board with a few "checklist" - Places to visit/photograph + Places to eat and a simple itinerary
Notion seems like a very useful tool to know how to use for school or work. But it seems so hard to get started with it. I would really appreciate a "get started with notion" video.
I too use dates in my labels and file names. My formate is always 6 digits. i.e. Todays would be "241113 - Meeting Follow Up with ABC Client" You still have the ability to search, as you demonstrated, while also going further to specific month and day. i.e. You know what you are looking for was after Halloween but not the exact day. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jeff and thanks for your video 🙏. The one thing it's not so clear, is on how you manage the tasks added to your database. You use Todoist for quick capture. How do you handle them? How do you get reminders? How do you separate work from personal ones. Thanks in advance.
Hello Jeff! I love your content; I've missed a video on Notion and hope more will be coming soon. I’ve had a question for a while about note-taking: when do you use Google Docs (I use your templates for taking notes) and when do you use Notion for note-taking at work? Thanks!
Hey Jeff,! Another amazing video from you. I have a question. How do you find balancre between notion and your google workspace workflow? I have tried to use both but I always seemed to get overwhelmed with one or the other. Can you speak to balancing both?
I just found the new iOS Shortcuts for Notion. It’s a limited scope, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on how best to implement them and maybe some use cases?
Great Notion Tips,... I have been using notion for a while and picked up some new ideas,.. really like the Notes Thread idea, YES Please on Prompts Database
This is so cool, looking forward to more videos like this!! I'm following a Java course, and i have been taking so many notes every single day and putting them in to Header 1 toggle lists with: day of the lesson and arguments, but i'm looking for a more helpful way to organize those lessons and to summarize and write better but still keeping in mind the previous ones. How could i do this better? I'm thinking about getting unlimited notion AI, is so helpful!
Hey Jeff! Awesome video, really love the content and quality! May I ask which software app did you use for the animation? Also where did you get the background video from? Really loving them :")
Amazing content as usual Jeff. Had a quick editing related question. I am putting together tutorial for my students. Really loved the blur/highlight effect you used here at 00:38 I have a similar use case. What tool/plugin you used to do that?
Hi Jeff, Would love to see a Notion Second Brain built with your methodology. I swear by your gmail set up with the action, follow up, reference labels since a couple of years now. Btw, you said you had a Notion playlist but couldn't find a specific Notion playlist? Cheers
1. Just updated the Notion playlist link, thanks for the catch! 2. I might do a full course on my second brain since it'll probably be like 5-6 hours worth of footage 😂
7:38 Bc of this, I'm starting to think it might be smarter to move completed tasks to a dedicated db. There are various scenarios, such as filtering, when Notion is still forced to process all 330 tasks. This way, your working tasks db will remain light & snappy. You'd think Notion would have a solution for this - it's probably why Notion's native desktop app is such memory hog..to the point where it's more efficient to use Chrome (and that's saying something)
One thing I’m struggling with is how to have everything in one place (i.e. notion). I cannot use notion at work but I don’t like OneNote which his what I’m allowed to use at work. How do you reconcile that? How do you have your meetings in Notion. If I remember correctly you’re also restricted to what applications you can use at work. Give me some ideas on how I can have my meetings notes and other work notes in my notion. I feel like I’m all over the place!
Ah, always good to see what you do with Notion. It is too bad that I am not important enough to use it (and our company blocks access to things like this). I am back to the ol' pen and paper, though the company still is upset that I am not working and merely writing. I can't win with some people, you know?
Although notion is indeed packed with feature, I am not going to use it until and unless they really implement offline sync feature. It's too sluggish on android given the amount of wifi speed it demands. 😟😟😟
Hey Jeff! Would you consider giving email subscribers access to all templates in one go? I signed up for the notes thread template but was confused before I realized I wouldn't get access to it until day 2 of the email journey.
@@JeffSu Ah, makes sense! 😅 Would you consider making that obvious on the notion toolkit email landing page/signup screen? Something like "Day 2" next in the Notes Thread template description/headline? Or a way to get/read the full email journey? I was confused because "Notes Database" and "Notes Thread" have similar names, leading me to think they were the same thing. Or thinking that the Notes Thread must be inside the Notes Database. The only thing that cued me in was the "What's Next" section on the bottom of Day 1's email.
Hi Jeff! I would like to create the same “backend” databases but I have projects that I have to share with someone else. What would you do in this situation? (I think we can’t share just a view of a database)
Why you deleted finance tracker 2.0 with notion ? Why that template giving errors and formula property not able calculate that was working fine till last two days?
I swear to god I watched like 40 of your videos in the last few years and not a single one was useful I can‘t even tell exactly why but this stuff just feels like a lot of talking without actual content
That’s kind of rude. If you don’t like his content, don’t watch it. It’s that simple. Not all content is for everyone. There’s a lot of other notion tutorial to figure it out with different teaching styles and what not. I’ve been trying to figure out notion for a while and it all just kind of goes over my head.😂
@@JeffSu You're welcome. I just don't think what @JTDIYM is helpful. It's rude criticism not constructive criticism. You can't do anything with his criticism be b/c its essentially just, "I have found no value in anything you've made." I mean--what are you meant to do with that? Now, if he had said a reason why he didn't find any value in the video like "you did this too much..." or "you didn't do enough of this," then that would have been more helpful. IMO
