Thanks for the information, I've had an ORX for a few years and I just bought a Deus remote. I've been madly watching all of the Deus videos I can to learn about the settings.
I don't swing a deus or a legend for that matter but I watch all these videos. Always something to learn and take away. This video was really insightful, thanks dude!
A good friend who taught me all about Metal Detecting many years ago used to say (RIP) exactly what you said in this video --- "your best discrimination are you ears", really took me back to those days. Excellent video and great tip. Thanks PS!!!
I think it's about context. Most of the guys setting the audio response that high are trying to locate deep or possibly deep targets in farm fields or forests within a low target environment. They'd rather hear it all than risk missing a whisper so they jack the audio response up. In a park environment as stated in the video, it's a horrible idea because there's just too many shallow targets. Knowing the depth by sound can often eliminate 50% or more of the modern junk on the surface where the old coins won't usually be. Pick your settings based on the site.
Great review. I have my xp 1 set up the same way. I love it when I go over a target hear a target, I get a small tiny beep, but no vdi. Open the hole a few inches and there is a tree root. No one has been to this location in a while...
Going to try it out as no pain no gain, sadly we are not allowed to detect in trashy parks in Uk so it’s Fields and beaches, great video as always 😀😀😀😀
Jeremy, I totally agree with your thoughts,,, another great video. I’m my opinion,, the most two important settings on the Deus is indeed a audio response of 2 to 3, this is ideal,,, any higher you can simply amplify false signals,, and secondly, Reactivity,,, this In my opinion is massively misinterpreted, people seem to think that a lower reactivity we gain more depth,,,,,,, yes, perhaps this is true in theoretical terms, but in reality, often not the case, more often a higher reactivity will, and can provide more depth, and obviously better separation, I always run my reactivity at either 3 or 4, and my finds bag is always full at the end of the day,,,, maybe with junk, however, the name of the game is to dig as many targets as you can!!!!!!!….. The above also, very importantly creates a “stable” machine,,, stability is everything in a perfectly “set up”detector!…… just my thoughts!!!
High audio response overloads the machine easy and amplifies falsing and instabilities. There are many disadvantages of having high audio response settings. Higher audio response does not give more depth!!
Thought about getting a Deus 1 or 2 and even thought about the ORK..then I was like wait I need to find the clad to buy new detecting gear or a detector.. This yr I will wait to even buy another one.. Maybe a few yrs might go by before I do..
Best coin day so far this year was 146 coins/$26.65 for a 5 hour hunt! 29.2 coins per hour(coin every 2.05 minutes), $5.33 an hour for 5 hours! I was worn out after that day. 97 quarters, 19 dimes, 5 nickels, 25 pennies…
@@PaystreakSuperfreak These coins were found at a sports complex. Baseball/football fields. Going back this morning, so far outta this area $78.48(4 trips)! Nothing really old thou…
Have any pointers on finding more nickels with deus 1 I just now realized on XY screen that the line isn’t straight across like on pennys dimes and quarters so I was wondering if there was a way to identify nickels better. Cuz I’m wanting to find a Buffalo nickels sooo bad.

American's always go over to the UK to detect your ancient sites, so you guys should vacation over here in the US and detect our trashy parks and curb strips. 😁

Guilty as charged. I had mine set on 5. Another excellent tip Jeremy. Keep the educational videos coming. You the man.

Appreciate your time making these videos.
Glad you like them! Thanks Chad!!
Btw thank u for taking the time to make these videos cuz I’m new to detecting and own the deus 1 and wanting to learn sooo bad.
Glad to help

It seems like all the good stuff is always in the roots man!!

If you are looking for deep targets, a raised audio response is a must. Proven depth gains have been noted on both live and buried targets.
High audio response distorts the audio quality of targets. High audio response amplifies falsing and gives no modulation.

I completely absolutely agree with you 100. Well said Dave!!
Jeremy as always thanks for the pro tips brother! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Yeah Deus 1 back, 👐D👐E👐U👐S👐 DEUS1!!👐 great info
Have the D1 and have used audio response of 3 since day 1
Very awesome. High Audio response brings many problems.
Very Useful, Thanks ! Had my response at 5

Time to put your detecting bible together
3 or 4 work good for me,

nickels sound junky on the Deus 1 full tones. 5 tone coin program would probably get you more nickels.
Volume up and audio response down
1st!! Good tip...
Boom!
I'll give it a shot, I haven't had no problem locating targets but I'll try anything that will give me an edge. Thanks for the tip

almost like sid's'pro settings except that he takes hot base
