  • For this volume of Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery, I am creating a Victorian Sewing Box. At long last I assemble the pieces I have been sewing for 6 months, to create the beautiful work box. When I lift the lid, watch the box unfold to reveal its hand stitching treasures - scissor keep, pin cushion, needle book, pockets and a place to tie the koma. I am completely in love with this handmade item that is home to all the amazing tools I use to relax and slow stitch myself happy!
I can’t thank Rachel and Sarah enough for creating this fun and creative challenge. Their full playlist is here: • Roxy's Journal of Stit...
Be sure to check out the amazing work of other stitchers joining in #roxysjournalofstitchery Vol 4 ‘Treasure Hunt’.
Thanks for watching and a thank you to all the lovely viewers who take the time to leave a comment. Having you join in is what makes this fulfilling.😊 I love to hear what you are working on and other great crafting videos to watch.

I drooled! You really captured the colors and eclectic nature of the Victorians! When I saw that flower cluster on the top, my first thought was: a Victorian lady's hat. It looks just like one of those!! And, the box is her gown. It's gorgeous!!

Thanks Lyn. It was a fabulous project the Roxy sisters put together. I was challenged by all the prompts, because I didn't really have any treasure (vintage goods) to use, but by the end of it I created something I treasure! 😊

Hi Leanne Your Victorian Sewing Box is absolutely beautiful. I also remember making cottage crafts with my sister in Mum & Dad's old caravan. It smelt strongly of pot pourri, which was funny because they eventually sold the caravan to a miner who was going to take it Lightning Ridge to live in 😆

How lovely Dawn! One tip is the inside pieces are a little smaller than the outside pieces. And the hexagon on the lid is larger than the hexagon on the base, by about 5mm/ quarter of an inch.

@@leannescraftycupboard hi Leanne. Thank you yes I did work that out. My greatest challenge was getting the hexagon right. Even got out the compass and protractor 🤪it’s my mums ninetieth and she taught me to sew and still sews. She was a dressmaker mostly wedding gowns but not an embroiderer. I will post a photo once I’ve given it to her but not till April. Cheers
