The SEC has not left its footprint in terms of geography. The fervent of college football is awesome in this region. People will watch the games if they don't attend in person. The tickets are extremely expensive to carry a family. Geopolitics don't affect the fan bases in the southwest and southeast. Out west it's different. Geopolitics has seeped its way into the college game. It is affecting the fan bases. Regular folks not only can not attend the games but can't keep up with rising prices. Regular citizens are moving while non English speaking residents are moving in. They don't understand the importance and excitement of college football.
The GOR is between the ACC member institutions and that has been what is holding that league together. However, the GOR can be dismantled by a majority (8) votes by ACC Presidents to abolish the GOR. That would require coordination between member institutions along with the B1G & the SEC to determine how to carve out the desired 8 institutions. ESPN & FOX would need to be consulted with Sports Analytics data presented and used by the B1G and SEC Commissioners.
