Hey everyone, let me know if you enjoyed part 3. Also, please let me know if you’ve watched part 1, 2 and 3, and feel like I have forgotten any important base locations. Hope you’re all doing well
I just finished both your videos literally 30 minutes. Just bought the game on steam after playing it on gamepass a year or 2 back. I built a modest base on top of the welp flavordrink. I tried doing it again earlier today but I caught on too attached structure part. I’m going for achievements and I want to get far enough in the game to work with zip lines which I didn’t do prior. So thanks for being a reference guide. There’s new content on RUclips since I last looked up base location guides and I do enjoy your videos. So good stuff and thanks for my TV/news source for the night. Pretty neat to come full circle and catch this upload for the 3rd one in the series. Imma restart this video and watch it now. Location 5 first video. And the Pipe in the second video were the ones I enjoyed the most from that in theory crafting a hold
@ that’s awesome 😂 I am glad I could Entertain/provide information for you. Also, welcome back. There is a whole lot to do in the game and lots of time to spend if you want to. When you get that structure error, a lot of the time, depending on the item you are building into, try rotating the piece or looking away from where you want to build with the building piece out and then look back at the original place you want to build that item. Sometimes it will let you clip into objects like that. However typically another piece usually needs to be placed first in order for that to happen. Basically you have to build “the right way” and then you can cut into objects with building materials. I have a building tips video that I made that covers building tips like that. However I will be honest, I was only a few months into my RUclips journey so the quality is probably not as good as the other videos you’ve watched…lol. Also I really like that pipe as well. It’s definitely one of my favorite locations.
@@ChaosBearGaming it took me 3 days. About 11 hours actively gathering stems (had to get strong enough to kill the 3 stink bugs that hang out between the tree and the swamp going towards the hedge/swamp but I finally got a 3 story house on top of that Can by the tree. Currently doing the Pond Lab, gathering bones and koi shards. But I digress. I started a custom world and use the robot to fly around, there is 2 spots in the upper yard that peek my interest. The long Board mentioned in one of your videos. And there’s a broken stump, kinda near the pink car. One stump goes up uneven but at the base is a murky area with flowers, the other stump houses two wolf spiders and a scan room
@@Tiblious congrats on all your progress. Also playing in custom or playground mode like you mentioned is great for learning the map if you don’t mind the lack of experiencing it first hand the first time. The stump area may be one of the most dangerous areas in the game 😂 but there are loads of rare resources nearby. The wasps in particular being the most annoying to deal with since they can fly.
@@ChaosBearGaming for a video you should showcase fan submitted bases, and let me show you mine. If your interested for your own gain as well I’m about 75% through the game. I learned two days ago my base will carry on throw NG+ so I’ve built a very practical base, a big zip line tower that uses bouncing webs to go up. 5 zip lines so far, one that connects to the top of the baseball bat on the porch. I digress. But idk, I don’t have a group to show or social media to post this on and only my girlfriend’s seen it. But If you’re interested.
This is part 3. I have part 1 and part 2 that covered basically all the lower yard places. At least I would like to think I covered most/all of them. They aren’t labeled as part 1, 2, or 3, because then RUclips doesn’t recommend them as much. But if you go to my grounded playlist you will see another “15 best base locations” and then a “10 best base locations” video. Sorry wasn’t able to help you out with a spot on this one, but if you’re willing to take a look, maybe the other videos can help you out 😀
That's dumb that you can't label them like 1-2-3 because RUclips won't recommend them they absolutely should because it's a continuation of the series but I'm definitely gonna check them out thanks I didn't know this was part of a series thanks for telling me because I just started grounded as a solo and I don't wanna build a base near anything that'll kill me quickly since I'm not prepared yet and only have tier 1 stuff
@charlesrodgers1161 can't is a strong word. He/she absolutely can, but they'd rather play hype mechanics like a rockstar instead of uh offer content for uh free on uh a free platform. I'll bet ten times his subscription cost he has at least three places to pay him money directly.
@@nicewhenearnedrudemostlyel489 I avoid labeling my videos as “parts” because it impacts viewership. When viewers see a “Part 3,” they often assume they need to watch the previous parts to understand it, which can deter them. This approach doesn’t apply to my guides, as each video is designed to stand alone. However, as a new viewer to the channel or even being unfamiliar with my work, they wouldn’t know that. They would think they need to watch previous parts first. I do reference a previous video idea occasionally, however viewers can enjoy each video individually without missing key information. Research and experience show that audiences are less likely to engage with content that appears to be part of a series if they feel they’ve missed earlier installments. By structuring my videos differently(and naming them differently), I aim to make them more accessible and inviting for a wider audience. I simply include them in the same playlist so if a video peeks someone’s interest, then they can go through the catalog of videos that I have.
I feel like I just got lucky, but I feel like the best way to line it up would be to get on top of the lamp. On the edges of the bottom part of the lamp, and build out from there. Don’t use the stairs coming up as the snap points. Start from the lamp and work your way down. That way you can build out from the lamp as perfect as you can without worry about lining up the stairs.
Im still annoyed, the game doesn't tell you some FAQs. I don't know the beat way to prepare building a base (do i have to collect the ressources AT the new location, or can i transfer/have access to all other storages from everywhere? How do i correctly start building a base? Will it collaps? Can it collaps? Will bases take damage (over time, from enemies)? what do i have to watch out, if planning zip lines? Do the ends need to be perfectly aligned with each other? When is it safe to build floating floor tiles? Also: it takes hours to build a single base: Collecting tons of ressources, repairing the tools in the process, collecting ressources to repair your tools, eat and drink. Farm insects to eat and drink, cook the insects...., this exceeda the base building time by another 150%... How do i connect with other players? People who are new to survival games have a hard time getting started and no guide explains these open questions, nor do these games have proper manuals.
Q: What’s the best way to prepare for building a base? A: When preparing to build a base, keep these factors in mind: 1. Resource Locations: Make sure nearby resources are available. While most respawn (except upgrade rocks), having a variety close by saves time. 2. Safety: Assess the area for threats. A safe location ensures you won’t be constantly defending your base. 3. Food and Water: Check how close food and water sources are to your base. 4. Research Station Proximity: While not mandatory, it’s convenient to have a research station nearby for analyzing new materials. ________________________________________ Q: Do you have to collect resources at the new location, or can you transfer items between bases? A: Storage is not shared across locations, so you’ll need to transfer items manually. Here are your options: 1. Relocation: Use the “relocate” option (e.g., pressing "Triangle" on PlayStation) to carry storage items across the yard. However, if you take damage while relocating, the item will reset to its original position. 2. Breaking Down Storage: Dismantle chests to get back the materials, ensuring you can rebuild them at the new site. 3. Efficiency Tip: You can fill your inventory and relocate a storage item at the same time to double your resource transfer rate. 4. Planks and Stems: These materials can’t go in your inventory, so it’s often easier to harvest them at the new location. Later in the game, you can use zip lines to send planks and stems directly to your destination. Keep in mind some resources only spawn in specific areas, so travel time will always be a factor depending on what you need. ________________________________________ Q: How do you correctly start a base? A: Start by laying down the blueprints. 1. Plan out the size and structure to visualize your base. 2. Once blueprints are placed, the game will display a “shopping list” of required materials (e.g., 76 planks, 20 stems, etc.). 3. Gather the necessary materials and start building. Note: Blueprints and structures don’t take damage over time, but creatures can attack and destroy built structures, so plan your defenses accordingly or pick a safe location. ________________________________________ Q: What should I watch out for when planning zip lines? Do the ends need to be perfectly aligned? A: Zip lines don’t need perfect alignment, but: 1. Ensure no grass blades or obstacles are in the way of your character when using the zip line. Running into them will knock you off. 2. Keep paths clear for smooth travel. ________________________________________ Q: When is it safe to build floating floor tiles? A: Floating floors require at least one connected support: 1. This could be a rock, leaf, or a grounded piece like stairs. If the support piece is blue, it’s valid. 2. You can expand from that single support indefinitely but be cautious-if the support is broken (by you or bugs), the entire structure will collapse. 3. For large builds, add multiple supports to ensure safety, though technically, only one is required. ________________________________________ Q: Building a base takes forever! Between gathering resources, repairing tools, eating, drinking, and cooking, doesn’t this drag on the process? A: Yes, resource farming and survival management add layers to the base-building process. However, think of it as part of the game’s progression system. 1. Each step-finding resources, fighting bugs, crafting, etc.-provides a sense of accomplishment. 2. Survival games are designed to balance exploration, combat, and crafting. While it can feel time-consuming, these challenges make your completed base feel more rewarding. ________________________________________ Q: How do I connect with other players? A: Personally, I stick to single-player. Between working full-time, raising four kids, and spending time with my wife, I don’t have time for multiplayer-pausing the game when life happens is a must for me. That said, I recommend joining the Grounded community on Reddit. It’s one of the friendliest gaming communities out there. Post about wanting to team up, and you’ll likely find like-minded players who are happy to help. ________________________________________ Additional Tips for New Players • Survival games can be harsh on new players. If you want to ease into it, try starting on easy difficulty. It reduces combat stress, encouraging exploration and discovery. • Once you’re comfortable, switch to medium difficulty for a more balanced challenge that makes every decision and action impactful. And then there’s WOAH mode if you want to suffer lol. ________________________________________ Closing Note: That’s a lot of info, but hopefully, it helps! Survival games can be tough, but they’re also incredibly rewarding once you get the hang of things. Now go forth and dominate your tiny backyard kingdom! 😀
I am sorry to hear that. They only come out at night, and once you get well established on the lilipads they are easy to avoid. But if you do run into them they are a pain to fight. If you jump in the water near the edge of the pond, the water is shallow and typically free of threats. Usually there’s just tadpoles on the edge and wolf spiders won’t go in water. They will leave you alone.
