Also please let me know if there’s a location you feel like I should have included/should put in a next base location guide
On location 14 there's actually a wolf spider that patrols that way sometimes or at least it does on me and my friends world
Oh that’s good to know. I must go to bed early enough to where I don’t see it or I am not around when it’s too late. Thanks for sharing that.
My top 3 base locations:
- soda can next to the tree - You can build support from underneath the can so it slightly sticks through and you can easily then building within the can. The perk is that bugs cannot destroy anything
- The board game castle on the table - you can add a floor if you want, but can also add ceiling to block off flying bugs. You then have a pretty huge, cool looking base and you can add floors on top. The ceiling can be destroyed by bugs tho.
- milk molar bottle on upper yard - indestructible base, you can easily build it so that no parts are sticking out and you don’t suffer from any raids. I have a 3 story base inside with everything you might need. The only downside is that you have ladybirds, ox beetles and fire ants that are difficult at first, plus you need level 3 axe to get inside. But once you level everything up, it’s perfect and bugs are easy to deal with.
I totally forgot that soda can had the underneath section where the molar is. That’s a really good call. Also, the maze would be a fun spot, a little spooky at night if you don’t know the statues locations 😂, but great natural protection for sure. I don’t think I’ve ever considered/looked at the milk molar bottle. Definitely checking that out tomorrow. I really appreciate you taking the time to make such a detailed write up and sharing great spots based on your experiences. Thanks for sharing 😀
Definitely going to try out that cliff side one, that looks awesome.
Thank you, and glad I could give some new locations
Fantastic video dude :)
Thank you so much
for location 14 forgot about the wolf spiders will patrol through that area and come up to the juice box
Someone else mentioned that as well. I guess I had just never seen them because I either went to bed early enough or I wasn’t near my base when it was late. Thank you for that call out.
Straight to the point I love it!
great video, btw
Awesome, thank you so much, I am glad you liked it.
There’s a big rock at the end of the stumps near the stink bugs and bombardier beetles if you build on top of it then make a spiral staircase you could zip-line to the upper yard and the tree, it can’t be attacked by ground bugs which is a plus, I’m gonna run around next time I play and try to find more good spots because I’m curious now
I think I know what rock you are talking about. I will have to go check out it though just to make sure. Thank you for sharing that.
1:53 I like the sound of this one under the picnic table a lot of space and save from most bugs
Yeah it’s quite spacious and very safe. As long as that bee being passive near the back of the table statement stands up 😂
@@ChaosBearGaming yes I know what you mean haha, I build around the whole oak tree and it took me so long
@@TheGamesMenUK I tried it in creative so I could count the resources needed in a fast manner, and I think to build around the oak tree with just 1 floor that was 3-4 tiles wide, it was roughly 600ish planks.
what about on top of the compost? I know I had a blast building there. There are 2 green shield bugs there but you can get rid of them very easy and you can have ziplines to almost anywhere in the entire yard without making a zipline tower. To me one of the best in the game and you can do a lot since there is much space.
That was my #16 and I had it in the list, but I removed it. I removed it because I thought some might be concerned about the Beatles and the fact that they respawn. Of course late game it’s pretty easy to deal with them. I agree with the fact that’s it’s one of the base locations for ziplines for sure. Good call out.
Me and my friend had a base near location 11, it was next to the leaf you can use to get on top of the mysterious machine, and we had just got back from the anthill for bombs, and when we got back there was a wolf spider right next to our base, and it attacked us. Me being the tanky one I fought back almost killed it to, when it called in a homie to jump me. Suddenly I faced 2 wolf spiders and an orb weaver, let’s just say that day we slept near the research station
(Edit) another good location is Inbetween the grill and the area where there’s a roly poly, there’s nothing to attack you accept maybe a ladybird larva or 2, and your close enough to the grill and charcoal bag that you can easily get the coaltana
Yeah I stumbled upon that same wolf spider coming back from the hedge for the first time. I got back and was thrilled that I completed some progress. However, I couldn’t sleep because I had slept to late the night before. Then I go to walk into my base and just as I am about to close the door I see the stems shaking outside my base and then got attacked from the sky. That caused me to move my base up the hill a bit 😂 I didn’t know you could find 2 wolfies in that area. That’s crazy lol. That’s a good call out about that second location.
@@ChaosBearGaming it was literally the scariest thing I've ever been through
@@TictacmanRBLXyeah that one got me good. It was like my first jump scare in Subnautica. I will forever remember that spider 😂
@@ChaosBearGaming you ever play on Xbox or just pc, or do you already play on Xbox
@@TictacmanRBLX I just have a PS5 sadly 😂
You gotta try to make a floating base up in the air. I got one over by the tree but it’s not touching the ground in any way other then zip lines, lets you make bases that can be like planes just up there in the sky
I had no idea you could even do that. That sounds awesome. Would air raids cause them to break? Or what stops it from falling apart when something breaks?
@@ChaosBearGaming I don’t have to worry about raids I have a wafter up there that when I trigger it automatically finishes and resets the raid timer then I have 1 main zip line that connects me to every other corner
@@jacobwhitehead4564 that sounds awesome. I will have to attempt something like that sometime.
Me and my buddy built inside a glass bottle. In the upper yard, North East of the map, along the rock wall, there's a blue bottle cap in the flower bed. If you go under the cap, there's a tunnel that, if you follow the cave, comes to a half buried glass bottle.
If you build away from it's edges, your base is quite literally impregnable.
That sounds awesome. I feel like I know which one you’re talking about, but I’ll need to double check. Thanks for sharing that location.
@ChaosBearGaming There's a pink juice carton on the rocks next to a tree. I think it's roughly 130 cm West/ North West of that carton.
Sorry I can't be more specific
@@beircheartaghaistin2332 I am sure I can find it. I Just need to get off work so I can go exploring lol 😂
@ChaosBearGaming Correction. It was a pink cassette tape and a soda. NW of there.
Also. We had a Ladybug spawn in the bottle... dunno if it'll be consistent 😂
@@beircheartaghaistin2332 thanks for clarifying. That would be funny to see 😂
I got a nice big base on the houses porch ! (Location 6) Big open area and when you do a raid the bugs path findings gets messed up and they take forever to get to me
I’ve been thinking about building there cause of all the space. That’s good to know about the raids. Thanks for calling that out.
Next to the fruit carton on the pond is my spot every time 😂
Thats one of my favorite spots, that’s why I built that big base there 😂 thanks for sharing.
Same! I just love that it's a large enough surface, it's right by the water, and it's one of the most flat surfaces to build on in the game!
I don't know why I defaulted to this location since day 1.. but for some reason I can't seem to justify building really anywhere else!
@@SuperHonkyPodcast yeah it’s a nice to little scenic place. I wish every piece of water wasn’t loaded with mosquitos lol 😂
Missed the bin at the back of the upper yard with the 2 stink bugs on top. Once killed they will never spawn again if u build any thing at there spawn or close to it
My understanding is that they still respawned, but you’re saying you can block their spawns? Does that just work for them or other creatures as well? That was my 16 pick but I pulled it off cause I thought they would respawn every time lol 😂
@@ChaosBearGaming no they don't respawn. Only time they will respawn is if u go to a higher new game pluss..
I think the respawn thing is. If you build in an area where around there spawn location. Then they just no longer spawn. I did some testing with the Waft emitter. To try and cheese the bugs spawning at the oak tree next to the water and managed to make a single file line of black ox. And it worked just fine..
@@wartimewells1592 that’s good to know, thanks for sharing your testing results with me.
11 is the the exact spot where I have my first base
It really is a great first spot. It’s safe and fairly central.
0:18 problem with the picnic table is bees are aggressive on the picnic table
I think just when you are near the jar. I believe near the back half they should be passive
@@ChaosBearGamingthey’re not :(
Oh no that’s sad, I feel like I’ve definitely been there before and they leave me be at times. I wonder what triggers that aggressive nature. Because it doesn’t always happen.
7:13 if you build right under this rock where the black ox beetles are if you put clay to stop them from responding that’s a good place where no enemies can get to you
Does it permanently stop them? I know for example when you block off the oak tree you still get wolf spider spawns and eventually they get out of the area and can roam again. But that does look like a really nice place to build.
@@ChaosBearGaming I haven’t tested it myself so I don’t know for sure
That’s fair, well either way, thanks for sharing about the good spot below as well.
@@ChaosBearGaming no problem 👍
On top of the shed
Good call out and thanks for sharing. That’s definitely a good place.
Is there a really a good reason to build a base that's overly protected like most of these?
I don't seem to get any problems with random bugs attacking my base. The only time
they do is if I've killed far too many of a certain type and then it does those random event
type raids where a few of them attack.. but it's always super easy to defend. Doesn't seem
like there's any real danger in this game as far as our bases are concerned?
Some people just like To build big bases for fun.
It’s a time investment for sure, but it’s nice coming back and seeing organized storage or a well built house that protects you. Even if it’s just from the sun lol 😂
because technically storage is best placed In the middle of a base so it can be pulled from anywhere within the base. So you don’t want a massive base if that is your goal and the coziness level is also restricted to a specific radius.
