That Jag XJL is the big girl I've been searching for for forever. I like a big four door car. They're comfortable and not usually ragged out as people buy them for comfort and not sport. I have a Mustang, and while I love my car, it's not good for road trips due to comfort. I have a New Grand Cherokee SRT and while it's comfortable and fast, it's not fuel efficient at all. A third car is in order and it's probably gonna be the XJL. Such a beautiful car.
As a Lotus Esprit Owner your info is a little off... Power Steering wasn't even put in till 1993, so lots of years without it. I have a 2002 so a V8 model. Biggest concern for this and the 4 cyl models. Timing belt tensioners. When they go bad you will have a bad day.

My dad used to own a S63 AMG from that 2011 era and it was actually decently reliable. Only breaks had issues. The electronics were actually great. Boy was that car fun. He owned it for about 7 years and it was amazing
