wow. How DARE anyone say black women are not beautiful? That Africans are nor beautiful? You are gorgeous and talented and obviously well-educated. Thanks for the amazing tutorial and the history lesson.
Omg😍😍 I am Hausa fulani from Zaria in Kaduna state Nigeria and we were taught about Queen Amina of Zazzau..this is soo beautiful reminds me so much of home where I see styles like this frequently☺.. it's so nice that other west African countries also have the Hausa tribe...shout out to all my West Africans❤❤🙌 one love Africa👑..u slayed 100% BTW👍
You always have the most bomb updos! This is absolutely regal! Been following your channel for 4 years and you never cease to amaze me with your creativity! My hair inspiration for sure💖
I don't know much about my african ancestry, my mom told me that my grandfathers side of the family was south african.. but this video made me so interested in learning about myself and my ancestry along with africa :)
Awesome hair tutorial and history lesson. The history they certainly don't teach you in school. I love learning about strong, powerful women of history. Perhaps if many girls of color learned this type info here in school, they would have hold their heads higher and have higher self esteem. Will also be trying this style*
15 minutes?! Oh Laila. God bless you. That's me in at least an hour. With less finesse 😂😩😭. Exceptionally stunning look regardless. Loving the creativity of this series. 💛
Girl you be working those African hair styles!! Your crown n glory is magnificent!!! We all must begin to rock these styles because it makes us (blk women) look so regal as was our original style. BTW, where did you get the jewel headband from? It is exquisite!!
If anyone knows where to get the bead set and and head jewellery they'd be my personal hero! I really want to recreate this look, it's absolutely stunning!
Wow this video was EVERYTHING! From the background/history to the hairstyle....just wow! I loveeeee hairstyles like this. So powerful. I'm going to attempt this and if it comes out right and I post I'll definitely credit this video.
Young Sister keep sharing the history that should be taught in school! Love the look! The Queen in you is showing my Sister. Regal indeed. Keep up the good work! ~ Shilonda
I don't think I could love you anymore Leyla! Thank you for this video it warms my heart so much to see you bring some much substance and context to our hair. Thank you for telling our stories and legacy. You are truely a queen xx
can we please learn more about more queens and your creative ideas of hairstyles. I love this. I wish I was in Africa but I'm only an African American woman. it's nice to know about what my ancestors could have been. but i will never know.
you could do a DNA test, they sell the kit at most pharmacies, you spit in some stuff and send to them and then they send you back your result, it gives specific result for the parts of Africa you may be from including tribe. would be nice to give it a try
I love 💖 this series. Queen Aminatu learnt about her in Junior secondary school in Nigeria. The hausa cukture is quite broad present in many African countries. Thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad your video popped up on my RUclips feed! I had the pleasure of studying for the summer in Ghana 20 years ago and was so flattered when people said I looked Hausa. You have a new subscriber in me.
Hi Laila! Great tutorial video! My husband is actually from Cote d'Ivoire. I will make sure to tell our future children about Queen Aminatu and all of the wonderful things she did. Thank you for this video :)
i love this, you should add more west African queens to this collection. Queen pokou from the Ivory coast would be cool. Akan women wear their in different form.
This is simply GORGEOUS! You did a fabulous job! I'm just now getting back into my long term protective styles. I love the music. Thanks for spreading the knowledge! God bless!
I absolutely love this series! We should all learn about the strong women of Africa. ❤ Would you be showing a style inspired by Yaa Asantewaa of Ghana? She was the only warrior queen I knew of until your videos!

+iLUVNigeria94 hahahaha high five girl🙌🙌...
hey, Pullo/Fulbe(fulani), yarama👋, do you speak/understand Pulaar/fulfulbe?
The style looks more Fulani.
She says It All it is Fulbhe/fulani; and Hausas has many history & cultural similarities with Fulbhe(Fulani) in northern Cameroon, Nigeria and Niger.
