Yes, they are so awesome 😍 They are dexterous 🤓 I wish I was could braid/cornrow my own hair as well as they do, but I'm impatient 😂 my arm gets tired, and I always get confuse and forget which hair goes over what. It's frustrating.
I can't explain how happy I am that braids are coming back in style... They used to be my go to when I was younger! Definitely will be trying this look.. I want to take out these faux locs that I just put in my hair now! Ugh! But I'm so happy I'm finding these beautiful braids before the summer
You are one of about three you-tubers with low-density hair I've seen successfully grow healthy hair, and show hairstyles that actually work for our hair type. Thank you! It inspires me to keep trying.
OrenjiOrange so glad to be reading this. I find that sometimes I'm a little nervous to try certain styles because I have thinner hair but I've learned that if I don't at least try the style I won't know. Thanks for supporting my journey❤
Thank you for the support, it means a lot sis. As a little girl my mom (who is south african by the way) kept my hair in braids once we came to America. So it was honestly fun braiding my hair again and adding the beads just reminded me of when she and I used to do this years ago.
Thats a good point, its gotten outrageous! I choose not to go to a braider because I had a horrible experience that caused my bald spot, so that has encouraged me to practice on my own head as much as I can until I get it right.
Love what I DO. Are you asking how expensive it is? Here in the SF Bay area, prices for individual braids/twists start at around $225. I reckon cornrows start at around $100.
Lashunda Anderson girl I was regretting having these dang nails, I know if they were shorter I would have been able to get the braids a little tighter and just in general maneuver better
You rock and took it waaaay back to the 70s. We use to rock it back then. We use to wear cornrows and beads all over our head no tension whatsoever and no hair loss. I use to braid all the neighborhood kids hair that leaved on my block. My front, back porch and kitchen was my salon. Opened my first bank account when I was 12. If you know how to braid you will never go hungry. Keep it natural away from chemicals and heat try to braid your hair with no tension at all. Look up Patrice Rushen back in the seventies she is an artist and look at her braids and beads that is what we use to do back then. She use to sing the song "If Only For One Night" waaay before Luther Vandross and a song "Forget Me Nots".
I love that this style is coming back!! I did this style when I was in the 8th grade because I loved Alicia Keys hair so much! I'm 29 now and glad its much more popular
i dont even kno how i got here but ur face thru me off i thought u were karrueche......... u look like a mix of her and chili from TLC wow. this style is bangin tho. the bad thing about knowing how to do hair is i can change mine whenever i want but i'm trying to keep my fingers OUT my hair for like 3 months lol this style is so cute tho. it makes me wanna take out these week-old crochet braids and pop those bad boys in lol
Me: Who did your hair? Them: Myself Me: Wow! How much do you charge? Them: I only do my own hair. Me: I low key hate you, I can't even part my hair straight. You killed this hairstyle, looking like a goddess!
Thank you for watching the video. You wouldn't believe how many times I hear this very thing. I said it before but I'll mention it again. I got a bald spot from somebody who braided my hair and did it wayyyyyyy too tight. Since the bald spot is right in the middle of my head about an inch in from my hair line I was really really motivated to learn how to braid to try and conceal the damage done if I ever wanted to wear braids.
Those nails are everything and lol I get the "woah you did that yourself reaction all the time" but I never tried braiding like that. Turns out I can do it easily, no more hassle for ideas thank you sooo much!
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to achieve it sis. If your hair is thicker then I'd suggest reducing the amount of braids in front by 2. That should give you enough parting space to still Achieve a cute braid pattern and individuals in the back half of your head.
Kersti Pitre Trying to get my hair sleek in a cornrow without blow drying can be difficult. It can even look dry no matter the amount of gel 😂😂. But I in fact added MORE braids in the front. Gave me a stitched look rather than having too much hair exposed on each side of the cornrow. Again beautiful style😘
how dare you post these gorgeous braids!! i can't even do thick corn rows properly LAWD this is the video that will make me practice!! simply beautiful!
im shook!!! ive been waiting for someone who can make a video like this you make it look so easy!! and ive been very tired of paying people to do my hair, now i have the knowledge to do it myself. i will be braiding my hair all summer, thank you so much!! :)
Girl this is everything!! Saw u on IG but I can't find this hair in any South Fl stores, I'm going to attempt w regular kanekalon. I'm dying to know how did u put on the flat silver piece in the front? Was it during the braid or after?
Tomisin Ajakaiye lol an absolute lie kim just tried it alicia keys makes sense because we was kids seeing her with braids so at least it is someone we likely saw it with first kim k is a grown woman who knew damn well she didnt see it on that woman first. Dhe probably saw it on alicia keys first like most of the millenials
Dejone Bond so the hair was sent directly to me by RASTAFRI . The hair has just been released to beauty supply stores. I would check a site called blackhairspray to see if they have it if the actual RASTAFRI website doesn't have it up.
This looks amazing omg. You did a great job. I could never do this on my own lol. Do you mind sharing where you got the hair jewelry you put in the middle?
Okay so I don't go back & forth on opinions butttt I was at work when I said this lol so anyways what I meant was she reminds me so much of karreuche , is that better ? 😂 no one is exactly alike lol

Black women use to wear their hair like that a lot in the 70's. Very retro and so pretty.
Why can't I braid man, ugh this is perfection. I would ask my mom to do this but she is very rough with my hair lol. Such a stunning look.
Bonita Pandora keep practicing. Took me forever but I learned. You can do it. Keep practicing
Bonita Pandora listen. I want this as my next style but I can't braid either 😂. Struggle lol.

its Hausa-Fulani def not Habesha
yes and she is beautiful, great job
Must be nice knowing you'll never have to pay ridiculous money to get your hair braided.
Thats a good point, its gotten outrageous! I choose not to go to a braider because I had a horrible experience that caused my bald spot, so that has encouraged me to practice on my own head as much as I can until I get it right.
Why they gotta braid so tight, even if you beg them not to.
How is Spenser is to get your hair braided ? I can braid my own hair !

Theresa Thornton thank you
I'm thinking, no way she's about to braid this style on herself? Amazing skill!
This Is Probably The Best Tutorial That I've Ever Seen. You Explain Everything Precisely and There Was Literally No Confusion!

Girl this is the last style I'm doing before I cut all my hair off thanks to you. It looks beautiful on you 😍.

Sorry to hear that, but look at the skills you gained. To be honest, I never even noticed. Been too busy watching your hands work.
Annette Flowers Hater
Annette Flowers so true
Darius Covington how is she a hatter she was just joking and stating facts
Those nails are everything and lol I get the "woah you did that yourself reaction all the time" but I never tried braiding like that. Turns out I can do it easily, no more hassle for ideas thank you sooo much!

Why are you guys giving the credit to Alicia Keys?? These kinds of hairstyle have been done for hundreds of years by the Fulani people.
Andromeda Stars she obviously saw the style on her first
Binni then when Kim K called them Bo Derek it's because she saw it with her first
That's where most have seen it first
