    When adding in missing values, you describe how/why you would have 'Range plus one optional discrete missing value". In your example you used 77 as refusal, 88 as don't know and 99 as no answer. What is the purpose/meaning of the "discrete missing value" in this example? Thanks for such a great video series.

    • @PhilChanstats
      @PhilChanstats  9 лет назад

      99 is really the true missing values. The others are reasons for not answering and you may have them in a pie chart. Actually it's up to you whether to classify 77,88 as missing values.

    Hi Achmetrics.. I have gone through the first few videos of yours. I need information as to how to calculate Chronbachs Alpha and how to run an analysis on pilot study data so as to improvise my questionnaire. My guide mentioned something such as missing items test.. Could you please help me with that?

    Hello Phil! Great work, i am now learning through your videos. I have a question. I have a questionnaire and one question is like "do you recycle" yes, no and another question follows to choose the recyclable materials. Should i leave the cages blank for those who previously answered "no" or do i have to entry for example 1 for no, so as to put a value in the cage? And when a participant answers that he/she recycles all kind of materials, should i entry values in every cage or only in the cage for "ALL"? Thank you

      +sportvilly If I understand correctly, you have filter questions. Here's how to code filter questions: ruclips.net/video/w4yUsO4wEpw/видео.html

    • @sportvilly
      @sportvilly 8 лет назад

      Thank you for the quick response Phil. Though, i am a bit confused after watching the video. The thing is that i have a multiple response set coming after! "do you recycle" ? Y/N, and then, "If Yes, you recycle parer? plastics? etc.." Then,another multiple response question for those who answered No, to choose why they do not recycle. Watching another video of yours i have already set up multiple responses sets for these two questions. How is it possible to filter this? Do i have to set a new variable "N.A" for each of the multiple responses questions, then set up again the multiple response set and then proceed with creating two filters the way you do in this video?
      I have a pile of questionnaires and can't get started.
      Thank you

    Hi ahmetrics, i am doing a survey on "internal audit and public accountability". i have 4 questions with likert scaled responses from strongly agree to strongly disagree. i've filled the responses in spss and attempt to analyse with chi-square but i can't because spss required me to insert some variables in the column box and others in row box. but this wont give me result because i did not measure the independent variable(internal audit) , pls help

    Hi, What about if the question implies that the participant has to write the answer himsel like in the case: "Other, please specify"
    Let say that that response is "London", for example. How do I insert that into SPSS? Do I have to create a Value for every different response that I get into that category (e.g Paris, Madrid, Barcellona etc.)?
    Please help.
    Thanks

      The data set comes from the European Social Survey (ESS) - a social scientific endeavour to map the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of the various populations in Europe. Google it.
