    I’ve read all of these stories, but can’t wait to finally have this omnibus in my collection. I’m so glad I didn’t overpay for this on the secondary market (along with the recently reprinted X-Men, Mighty Thor, Hulk omnis). Patience really does pay off when it comes to omni reprints, although I know that’s not the case with every line.

    The first few volumes of the Avengers are being reprinted. The time to pounce is now if you're missing them or wanted to collect the omnis from scratch. First four are rereleasing over the next couple of months I think.

    I've been wanting this one for a LONG time. I have the old Masterworks hardcovers which I picked up like 20+ years ago, but the cost of those became prohibitive over time. I have the first 3, but after that, it was better to just wait. Missed out on the first issues of these omnis due to finances, but I picked up Vol.3 & Vol.4. Now anxiously awaiting this to replace the old MW, then Vol2 & Vol.5!!! Yay! And I honestly love these old classic stories. Yeah, the dialogue is a bit dated, but the ideas here are timeless. Great stuff.

    The Avengers was my first superhero comic, so hold a special place injy life.
    This going to be a good read for me as i am seeing them for the first time in colour, as i originally read them in the uk as b&w reprints in the 70's.
    Went for the kirby cover, so waiting some 3 years since starting down the omni route has finally paid off.
    Thanks for another rsview so am looking foward to seeing vol 2

    Shame we haven’t had any Donnelly printer books as of late. I know people don’t like negative opinions on the iMak printed but it cannot be ignored the poorer build quality but having said that it is great we have the opportunity to read these!

    Anyone here know anything about Marvel Remasterworks, the reprinting that was supposed to come out this year? Every time I look it up I either find the original masterworks or announcement articles about the remasterworks reprint with new covers and stuff. Are they just called masterworks or something? Did I miss out? I read that Spider-man, Fantastic 4, and X-men were supposed to be rereleased.

    • @camilocuba6927
      @camilocuba6927 Год назад +1

      The first eight issues with Kirby art are pretty good, except for maybe the second issue. Then after Kirby leaves, the stories aren’t that good until you get to issue fifteen and sixteen and the roster turnover. Then the first couple of stories with Caps Kooky Quarter are a little bland, but improve a lot starting with the Swordsman story. From then on, the rest of the stories are pretty good. People knock on Don Heck, but I really liked his art when he was drawing the Caps Kooky Quartet era. All this is IMO of course, but i guess it’s my long-winded way of saying that the stories are up and down in terms of quality.
