After doing something very similar today, I researched and it seems that now it has been found that for minor wounds like these (mine doesn't feel minor, lol!) using antiseptics like peroxide, alcohol, or even Neosporin delay healing and are unnecessary, rather Vaseline or any petroleum jelly product (Aquaphor) actually helps the healing process quicker. The antiseptics do kill bacteria but they cause damage to the wound as well. Just sharing what I learned today. :)

Earlier this year, i cut my thumb quite bad from a razor. It was the deepest cut i had ever had on my hand. For 10 whole minutes, it bled nonstop. I lost a whole hand full of blood in the first 2 minutes. As a 10 year old, i was quite embarrassed from being scared of blood and crying. I was trying to be brave but i started feeling extremely light headed after a few minutes. It was a Monday morning, school was in 30 minutes, i had a deep wound which was bleeding non stop and i felt like passing out. I was panicking so bad but i had to deal with it. Now that i have watched this, i will be more prepared ❤️

Thank you a lot I cut myself without even knowing way too often so I had to search how to stop a bleeding cut and this came up and i was thankfully able to stop a really bad one.
My mom is a doctor and there's a other way if Stoping bleed take cotton hold it tight around your wound after 10 minutes it should stop

I've just put Vaseline on my first right finger and my left thumb and 2 plasters on both of them to ease the bleeding while washing a cake knife so thanks for that video, it really helped me. The cuts were so painful but I managed to ease the bleeding afterwards.

I cut my fingers with a knife while cooking a lot by accident but this time it was bleeding A LOT even though I was putting pressure and washing it constantly, thank you for this, it helped and calmed me down.

They really said if you feel any burn soreness of PAIN the next day contact a doctor... If you cut youself in the finger of course you sould not have to contact a doctor the day after but other than that Great video.
I had an accident where I got cut with a pair of scissors… this made me feel better knowing it most likely isn’t bad enough for stitches
sliced my finger wide open can see literally the bone so im keeping the finger straight cause if I bend it the whole skin cracks open revealing such a large wound lol bled so much for about 30 seconds till I wrapped my finger with laces to stop blood flow now im in the process of going to the hospital or not
You can use ointment after it's been warsh and dried then put a fabric strip 🩹 on it to heal.
I cut a small but of skin on the crevasse between my thumb and pointer with a large knife in a kitchen what do I do then

A little bit of skin got scraped off(dont know the right term) while I was peeling apples. I was not sure if It was good to put the skin back or just let is sit in the open then wash it. Though I put the skin back and it seemed like it kinda just settled in.
Just so you know try to avoid using hydrogen peroxide to disinfect cuts because it will increase scarring and it'll damage a lot of tissue around it and it will generally make it take longer to heal
I'm builder cut my hands occasionly at work have rough hands as I work with both wood and metal, never bother with first aid unless it's like very deep cut, the wounds bleed for like a few seconds and seal up themselves never had an infection I don't get why people poke and prod themselves and make it worse by covering the wound so it sweats up and the skin and cut go all moist and manky just because its the general thing everyone does

Sorry if i seem pushy but i just want to know and i just cut my thumb with a chisel very deep but i put an paper towel on it and held in above my head (so blood doesn’t get to the wound) around 1 to 1,5 minutes and know i am going to continue with chiseling, have a good day/night!!

i got a cut in the middle of my hand between my thumb and pointer finger it doesn’t hurt but it’s just annoying because i can’t put a band aid because it just falls off and i don’t want to use the hand to much otherwise the cut opens back up ughh patience is hard
Im so glad i saw this video my son has special needs so he couldnt tell me he was hurt but i cleaned the cut and put a plaster on it im freaking out that he couldve lost his thumb

Unfortunately While opening a can food. I cut myself. the blood came out really fast. I wash it over running water for 5mins while still bleeding. i dont know but If i saw my blood i always have had a cold sweat and my vision became blurred i cant see anything. I panicked that moment thinking I am home alone what if I fainted. Thank god the bleeding stopped I wrapped it in a clean towel and put antiseptic. It just happen this morning. what an experience

I am sitting here with a deep cut in my finger my first response was to take cup next to me and let the blood drip in there then i quickly took a napkin and put pressure on it but now idk how long i have to wait

Instead of band aid you can always use mustard oil/Vaseline with cotton it helps stopping the bleeding
If it's deeper & around the knuckle, its advised to wear a split so that you don't bend your finger and reopen your wound.
Do I wait for the bleeding to stop or put the Band-Aid on top of the still bleeding finger.
Stop bleeding by lightly pressing it with your thumb .....bandaid is not for stopping bleeding but just to prevent infection

I was doing a potato surgery with a pretty dirty Utilityknife/box cutter and cut my thumb open pretty bad but I did basically everything in this video and I’m all right I instantly grabbed my first aid kit got cleaning pads poured alcohol in my finger and stop the bleeding

I cut my finger while cutting cucumbers for my salad lol it’s was kinda next to my nail and it started bleeding not a lot but I rinsed with water and a bit of soap because it hurt at lot, I don’t think it was that deep so I put a band aid and some tape to apply pressure but not a lot so that it doesn’t cut my circulation, wish me luck it heals soon because if my dad finds out he wont let me near the knifes anymore

Ik it’s 6 days later lol but it depends some people get nauseous when they see cuts or blood or like just said because u are scared abt it, but if you continue to feel like this or anything related with dizziness make sure to go to a hospital since you might be losing blood.

Hi im a scateboarder and every day i ofcourse i Hurt My hands and feet and i just put a very Tiny bit of salive on IT so that IT buys some time to Rince IT and Put some Water on IT

Firstly, I Knew That I Had To Wash My Hands, Cleaned the blood off of it, And, If You Guys See A Bit Of Blood On You're Hands, Basically The Cut Was Very Small, It's Just That Some Blood got out of it, If You Wash You're Hands for 4-5 Minutes, You Will Start To See That The Blood Is Disappearing, And Then, You See The Actual Cut, Mine Was Very Small, But I Had A Bit of Blood, So It Looked like A Big Cut.
Note: I Cut 4 Fingers and what i did made it look the same on each one.
Edit: My Reasoning to how i cut it was that i picked up glass, Right Now, Today, And I Didn't Realize I Cut My Finger. Jeez, Oh, And My Wound Wasn't Painful Because It Was Small.
