  • Ray Noury was interviewed by John Torrison, the nephew of Wayne Nelson, the B24's tail gunner who died along with rest of the crew on Dubec Hill, February 22, 1944. Ray was the sole survivor, as he fell out of his right waist gunner window when the B-24's right wing exploded, sending the plane into a steep dive and killing the ten other crewmen.The scattered partial remains of the 10 crewmen were buried within a single coffin , in the 'Peace for Souls' cemetery in the nearby village of Pradlo.
    Ray spent the next 14 months as a POW and somehow he survived the brutal winter march across Germany to Moosburg, until his liberation...
