I just did this job on my daughter’s 2016 (new body style) and only unbolted the topside and wheel wells. Also and maybe just because it was the first year of this body style it had a4th 7mm bolt on the bottom side of the assembly. So if anyone takes the three out and it still won’t come out check for a 4th bolt underneath it
Man I really appreciate this. I was gonna do a video on the same thing but you covered everything and WHY you have to remove the entire bumper to get that last bolt on the headlights at the bottom. GM really likes to play games 🫡
It can be accurate, but you still have to disconnect it in the wheel well and underneath to flex it out of the way. If you are doing only a single headlight, it would be worth it. However, if you are doing both might as well pull the entire thing to make it easier. Hope that makes sense.

My 2017 Cruze LT has these headlights installed from stock and yes you have to remove the bumper to get that last bolt under the light.
