My peony bushes are already budding and my tulips and lilies are growing too! Our cows are having sweet little calves. Spring is such a refreshing time! And it’s so nice to have Mondays with MeMe to look forward to. Your April Fools story made me laugh! I’m soaking some great northern beans tonight and will make ham and beans and fix cornbread for supper tomorrow with my leftover Easter ham.

Every year, we would help my aunt prepare for Christmas by cleaning her house, getting out her decorations and baking stuff. One year, she was looking over her stuff and noted the container for her mincemeat tarts was missing. After a bit I’d searched, it was spotted on top of a cupboard and one of the men climbed up for it. Well, it had a dozen or so tarts still in it! Being real Tupperware, it was airtight, but we wondered if they really could be good. The fellow who climbed for them shrugged and ate one! Lol it was still good, not stale and nothing bad happened to him.

I make a turkey perlo after Thanksgiving every year, but I've never made a ham perlo.
I'll be doing this today! I think i have about half a hog in my refrigerator this year. Everyone's wanted lamb.

I wondered what to do with all that liquid that cooked out of the ham. I usually discard it, but it seems a shame. Now with this recipe, I can use it. Thanks so much for an easy recipe using up left over ham. I have made notes on this recipe on page 50 in your cookbook.
You will love it! You can also use the juice to cook veggies.
