  • Hike Wire Pass Slot Canyon to Buckskin Gulch with us. Super easy hike in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument area. You can start in Utah or Arizona on House Rock Valley Road, Grand Staircase-Escalante is close by which is worth a hike as well. See our Toad Stool video for that one! Remember to bring plenty of water when you hike in Utah, it gets very hot very quickly. Also, check the weather, you are in a slot canyon and if it rains a flash flood can happen almost instantly. The location of the Wire Pass Slot Canyon trail head is just across the street from the parking lot, make sure to go left at the river bed. Wire Pass Slot Canyon will eventually lead into Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon. This is America's deepest, longest Slot Canyon. Wire Pass Slot Canyon is a out and back hike that consists of 3.7 miles. If you come out of wire pass, and you don’t have that much time for more of a hike, would you go up buckskin gulch, or down? For better views

    Great video! Headed there on my next vacation? I see you went to white pocket also. Do you think it’s possible to combine both hikes in a single day?

    • @MountainTopHomestead316
      @MountainTopHomestead316  4 года назад

      You probably could but it would definitely take away form the experience. White pocket is a pretty good drive and by the time you get done with wire pass you would be halfway through your day. I would try and schedule a day for each.

    I’ll be there in a few months. I was wondering how long it took you to reach the first slot canyon before the ladder? (I’m taking three small kids).

    • @MountainTopHomestead316
      @MountainTopHomestead316  2 года назад +1

      I think it was a good 30 minutes before the first. Don't go on a hot day, and it's very easy to get lost. Do lots of research.

      @@MountainTopHomestead316 Thanks. I actually went to The Wave and could not make time for the slot canyon. Way too hot by the time I reached my car at noon. I also would not have taken my kids in this heat and the north route was washed out so I had to take the 20 mile south route. Thanks for letting me know. Next time.

    What trail maps/apps did you use? Worried about getting lost as I’ve never done this trail. Also how long did it take you to get from the parking lot to the first slot canyon?

    • @MountainTopHomestead316
      @MountainTopHomestead316  3 года назад +1

      We actually didn't use a map at all and it took about 30 mins to the first one. Just make sure you study up before doing this one.

    Are dogs allowed? If humans have to use wag bags here, I'd imagine dogs are outlawed completely....
