This is such a wonderful organ. It is great to hear it in a live recording. Amazing that this organ is still used although built in 1721. The German organs of this time period are the models for true Baroque pipe organ sound. You are so fortunate to live there and have the opportunity to play these instruments. And we are fortunate that you make these videos and share with us. Thank you, Paul.
Am I right in thinking that you could really play anything on this instrument, baroque to romantic and maybe modern? That is very amazing! By the way : film editing and scene sequence are particularly brilliant this time! Bravo for that!👏👏👏
Dear Paul, this is a superb demontration of this beautifull Silbermann organ, bravo!! Your video is very interesting with the stops played indications and the tour aswell. Now, I have to put these registrations in my ear in order to progress!!
🇧🇷What a wonderfull sound. Paul, it's a gift for us receive you playing . Your performace wirh good chose of stops ... sometimes I fell in the church.. Thank you once more
Guten Tag, lieber Paul!
What voices! This organ takes no prisoners, eh? The speech and voicing provide so much character that later instruments have paved over with modern voicing. The principals and flutes have such strong individual character. It reminds me of the voices of a professional quartet versus a large choir; individuals stand out. It's almost like the history of national languages, the ways church organ speech has evolved in such different directions. If you ever run out of organs to expose (heaven forbid), you could do a long series of comparative videos exposing the large differences between exemplary German, French, English, Spanish, and American organs. Rather like Nathan Laube did with his "All The Stops" on WFMT in Chicago, which featured both organs and repertoires. And Hauptwerk samples could allow you to do it from home!
If I'm not mistaken, I believe this is the same organ that Wolfgand Rubsam recorded Bach's "Little Book of Organ Music" with for Naxos. That recording was what made me fall in love with organ music ever since I was a little kid. So looking forward for your Performance!!
I have loved the Silbermann instruments for many many years. Such lovely instruments that "live" so well where they were installed. Your performances here are delightful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Really enjoyed that masterful tour of this grand organ! Great job! Loved “A Mighty Fortress”! Would it be possible to get a video tour of the pipe chambers and the blower system? That would be very interesting! Thanks again for a wonderful video!
@@PaulFey In the United States, there is a group known as "THE ORGAN MEDIA FOUNDATION" which regularly visits historic and contemporary pipe organs in towns and cities all across the country, where they make videos in which the organist of the church being visited gives a sound tour of the stops of the organ. Following that, the Organ Media Foundation host, Brent Johnson, takes viewers on a tour of the inner workings of each organ. I highly recommend these videos to you. Here is one very good RUclips example of what the Organ Media Foundation does: ruclips.net/video/b1oUh1UnLOY/видео.html
@@PaulFey Thanks for your response! That would be a great thing to give us an idea of what a 300 year old organ looks like. You should come to America and play the Midmer-Losh organ in Atlantic City. Thanks again!
hello my friend I have a question have you already recorded a CD of all your beautiful organ works? we would definitely buy that greetings Jurgen Christiaens
thank you very much buddy for your answer both my wife Sabine and myself are really big fans of yours you really play like the best thank you dear friend ❤️❤️
"Nun lob mein Seel den Herren", es handelt sich um die hymnische Version des Magnificats. In der lutherischen Barock-Zeit wurde es auf das Fest Mariæ Anuntiationis (25/III) gesungen.
Ah, with shoes this time! You seem to play the pedals equally well, with or without! I would say that I love the individual stops on this organ, but not so sure about the tutti. Could there be some wind "starvation" on loud combinations? Your demo was wonderfully-played, as always; BRAVO!
Thank you for watching! 😀 I didn’t feel like it „needs more air“ when playing the instrument, but I get what you mean - It might have something to do with the audio recording itself 😀

What an honour to play this most famous instrument -it is overwhelming - you rise to the occasion young friend. What a wonderful concert.
