i didnt know that the mt10 could get to 13.5k rpm. its not making any power up there but its still impressive. makes me feel kind of better hitting 12.5k redline on mine.
Excellent job!! Factory MT-10 rev limiter is at 11500. You have gone 13000. Valve springs and cams support those extra RPM? As far as I know you cannot go more than three hundred (300) RPM from stock. Please comment as I fully trust your knowledge !
164bhp for a MT10 engine, on softer cams is great performance! I have an MT10 remapped to 152bhp (142 bhp stock)at back wheel, which leads me to believe there is at least another 10bhp to be gained top end by using an R1 ECU? Hmmmmm!
I would LOVE to see this~~>Assuming you have an R1 and want more naked riding posisition Simply buy used MT10 (dont even register it just resell immediately after the swap) Swap all the MT stuff for R1 stff and viceversa with both bikes trust me someone will LOVE to buy the MT 10 powered R1 that is left! You will both make out... him/her with a less expensive tamed (including insurance) "R1" and you with your now CRAZY fast R1 disguised as an"MT-10 ...OR simply transfer all the R1 motor and related stuff to the MT-10 and simply register and keep the now R1 powered MT-10 and sell the MT-10 powered R1 and now YOU save on insurance! PLUS you could could get a LOT of hits on a video if you took the time to docuvideo the whole process...I would subscribe and watch that in a heartbeat!
When you were doing the dyno runs I noticed you hit the rev limiter, did you reduce it to suit the heavier internals of the MT motor with its steel rods etc?
I want to put an MT-10 engine in my Vstar 1300. No idea how to make it work, but have all winter to figure it out!
Makes sense with the MT being a heavier/detuned engine that its got more midrange, and to peter out up top but thats exceptional.
Ohhh that’s very cool 👀 I had no idea the R1S was a thing!
Ive had both an MT10 and R1.. I'd have the MT10 as it is

How did you get it started...
Can you put an R1 engine in a FZ-10???

What is the reason to fit a mt10 engine on a R1???
On this bike the engine failed and instead of going to the expense of repairing the engine the owner decided to fit a cheaper MT10 unit.

Yes we tuned the engine as an MT10 engine. The challenge was modifying the software architecture in the R1 to suit the MT10 engine.
mt10 engine you say hmmmmmmm :)
=]
Need r1 lump in my mt10 😂
It is something else!
Not really a MT-10 engine if you really do an in depth analysis......not quite the hp of a non-s, real Magoo R1 either.
